Well 99% of alts goes down because many sell for the upcoming btc halving. Some altcoin pumps either someone pumped it wanting to gain profit or its just that the dev's are supporting it. I think there aren't any other coins which should be the next bitcoin soon.

I agree, these alcoin dumping is the result of the anticipated halving. More peopel are converting their alt to bitcoin and possibly to cash out. Though there are also pumping the coin, buying in bulk, they see this as opportunity to buy, thinking that these altcoin will recover soon. Hope so.
Yeah buying altcoins now is a good idea because they are getting cheaper because of the price hike of bitcoin. So for traders it's a good idea to buy now because many other traders are in panic that resulting for selling their altcoin to have some bitcoin. Buy many altcoins as you can and just wait for the price of the bitcoin to calm down.

I think this topic belongs to Altcoin Discussion (as every altcoin related post).

To answer some of your concerns. I don't believe that bitcoin's halving will have huge impact on altcoin scene.
Altcoins reputation is recently tarnished enough with that ETH hack. Most people are starting to notice they can be potentially disruptive to cryptocurrency as a whole concept.

Charts are not everything, coin price is determined by so many factors that real moves behind price rise/decrease can be hidden from us.

1. I doubt that miners will turn off their their equipment at all. BTC mining will sustain itself because price of BTC will be higher.

2. It happen all the time. Halving or not. That is the nature of the game with alts.

3. Actually after ETH misplay most altcoins are going down.

There is no coin with the potential to dethrone BTC. ETH was 2nd, not anymore.

you can never find a general rule for any of the altcoins and their price movement with or without bitcoin price movement. believe me there isn't i have been looking for one and i could never find any Cheesy

you may notice some changes (rise) with bitcoin price rise in some of the altcoins like LTC, Ripple,... but there are so many exception that you can't make a rule out of it.

I don't think the block reward halving will affect the small time alt coin miners because no one is mining Bitcoin with graphics cards any more and even using ASICS with the unfavorable electricity price is not profitable. Now if some alt coin miners decide to sell their stashes and join the Bitcoin hype train the respective alt coins will decrease in price however after the halving when the hype has died down already people will go back into alt coin mining and start to invest again buying cheaper coins pushing the price up. There are a lot of opportunities for quick pump and dump scenarios in the alt coin market.

you forgot to mention Monero is also going up.

some are going down and most probably because traders convert their coins to btc due to halving and that they'd be earning more because it might just double thier money.

Hello community.
I'm not really sure if any of similar topic exist already but will try to open a free to speak thread about Bitcoin Halving and Alt coins price.
I think that if BTC price goes up alts goes down ( not all but 99%)
We can see it now on charts and this is not the end.
Now there is a question:
1. If small miners decide to turn off machines cuz difficulty, halving, etc they will look for other coin to be able to mine. LTC? ETH?

miners are already doing that, they mine some altcoins.
and i am not really informed in this area but i know for a fact that there is a lot of merge mining going on with them that helps them earn even more money.

2. Now some of people will decide to PUMP some alts to show that the coin is good because it's keep same value like before...

yeah, it is a pretty good theory. as we saw in the early days eth pumpers pumped it with their premined coins and said eth is following bitcoin (and it was pretty funny because until the last day of that day they were saying bitcoin will die and eth will replace it )

3. Some of altcoins like NXT LTC ETH DASH keep going up even now and it's hard to pump them so easy than something need to be there.. ( will heck network hashrates and diff on them )
What You guys think is there any other coins which should be next BitCoin soon? ( i mean at least half of this )

none of these coins that currently exist today will be next bitcoin. don't fall for the hype.

and as for the rise i have only seen one coin that follows bitcoin most of the time (90%) and that is LTC
