I don't know if such thread has been created already but there was a news that was trending some weeks ago about a man who won #14million Naira which is equivalent to $10k and was logged out of his sport bet account, he tried severally to access his money but didn't Work out. he sent the Sport betting site a message but didn't get a positive feedback so he had to come out publicly to explain his predicament on air. Below is the link Man logged out of his Sportybet account seeks access to his N14m

My question is has anyone of you been in such situation before? And how were you able to handle such situation?
I feel for this guy, this story is very pathetic and shows the evil of some of these gambling platforms that are just flooding the world. At the same time, it is another eye-opener and a call for us to be more careful, we should make sure that we are dealing with the right casinos and sportsbooks, by doing this, we will just be fine. The $10,000 is no big deal for well-liquid casinos and sportsbooks, so be warned and be advised to avoid issues like this.

However, if I were this guy, the first thing to do is to take up the issue with them and threaten them with their regulator (if any), but if this is not helping, I think heading to court is the solution. You should pray to the court to collect your winning for you, get damages for you, and also make them pay all the legal fees you used to secure justice in this case so that you will lose nothing. Upon seeing your seriousness, they might want to settle it out of court and you will get your money. And since this is a local betting, it will be easier.

Also, it is good for gamblers to have their record often screenshots or screen-videoed at times so that they at least have some proof to tender in a case like this. Let all your betting tickets have self-records especially when you know you are expecting to win a big amount of money.

Conditions like this occur very often, they are blocked by the system. Of course, if someone bets on an unofficial site, they will run the risk of being banned if they win big.

In a situation like this you just need to contact the gambling company and try follow them up,  cases is like these it is not something that they may quickly look into, but one just need to be patient to follow it up. If it is good and reputable gambling company the money won't just go like that without having it. This is the reason why it is important when gambling one should try to be to know a reputable gambling company to play bet just incase complicated issues occur their won't be any problem of losing money.

If gambling sites are facing challenges like this it is a bad one which will bring a bad name to them and this can make customers to be scared of using them to play bet.

I have faced many times that I won the bet and my account was automatically logged out but I can access the account after the logout process because of the security system. So I don't have face this kind of experience and so that I haven't need to handle these kind of situation yet.
The name of the Sportybet I heard for the first time, maybe it's because may the site is local and I always avoid my local betting site for my betting Because it is seen that most of the time they give all tempting offers and later it is seen that the users are attracted by greed and become victims of scamming. If I don't know much about this site and could not see any news regarding next update. However, in such a situation, I will first complain to their social handles or support, then if there is no expected result, I will take legal action if there is an opportunity or I will file a half-scam complaint against them.

I would do nothing more than what the man did, this is also a good reason why it's good for every gamblers to gamble on a trusted casino. It's not easy for a gambler to make his picks and was so lucky to win a huge amount of money from his bets and all of a sudden the online casino logged him out, it's painful and same time frustrating, but from my end I don't think the man can do anything but if it's a face to face gamble thean can be able to arrest the owner of this casino.

If I end up in the same situation, i'll give the sportsbook some time before doing something because they mentioned that his account would go through an investigation. And maybe that's their protocol whenever one of their customers suddenly hits a big win. Certain sportsbooks are cautious in paying out winners because mistakes happen (wrongly settled bets, bugs, glitches, etc.). If there's still no update within the week, i'd forward the problem to AskGamblers, and start posting my issue on their social media pages to provide awareness.
It makes sense to do so. Give it some time to do so since we are new players with new accounts.

If it has been a week and no response from the casino, in my experience, don't expect your money back even if you try to contact them.
With crypto casinos I may not have experienced a case like OP, but I have experienced it with fiat betting sites.
I don't really mind when I have exhausted my efforts to get them to pay because I figure that the site hasn't deposited that much.

I've never experienced it in any casino I've visited, because I've never left gambling for long and I've never had a big win like that, maybe if I get a big win like that I will also be asked for files and will be difficult, especially if the order I made indicated suspicious things might get the same problem.

But if the man plays fairly and never cheats on his bets, he will most likely be paid according to what they handle in the casino, but it is also quite a pity because he has not been able to withdraw his money.
I might go on a vacation or increase my investment in crypto after winning that amount.

if i was in that situation, i would contact their support team directly and wait for their reply. if their reply is not what i expected, then i would take this to social media or post it on this forum. because the reward is not small, and their action of logging me out of my account is unreasonable, because as long as i have proof and i feel honest in my gambling, then there is nothing for me to fear.
There are situations where the support team will appear not to be responsive at all, talk more, or even give you a reply that you don't like. Some reports of several casinos behaving that way have been common online, so in such cases, one doesn't even need to wait for their reply first.

After giving them some time, one can just move ahead and create an awareness post for them on the internet, and after doing that to draw their attention to the case, it will be nice to share the link to such a post with them, as most of them are really afraid of losing their reputation on an open platform, especially in a forum like this.

I'm not trying to back the casino but I have been a fan of sportybet and such complaints are rare and in this situation, one has to hear the both side of the story. I saw the same article on some blogs and when the was interview, it look to strange for such kind of reputable casino to do that because I have seen people with millions of withdrawals going through and when there is network breakdown by payments gateway, they announced it and make sure all payment are process later.

One of the active place of that particular casino is Twitter/X, he should find a representative to help him call out the casino and the support, they will surely reply and if the don't, he should talk to fellow punters that use sportybet, they will communicate with the sporty platform and they will respond no matter what. In the worse case scenario, he should hire a lawyer, the casino is license as local betting platform, the are going to respond faster than the online calling out.

I like how he leveraged the general public to get their attention after they tried to pull a fast one on him...if they wanted to verify one or two things they should have told him directly to avoid public prosecutions, secondly if they can not honour such an amount they should set limits like what all veteran casino's or bookies do to avoid failing to pay out or losing the reputation that they have worked so hard to build.

Re: What would you do if you are loged out from your Sportsbet app after wining?
I would do something similar, probably get an influencer for hire just to get their attention so fast so that I don't lose my winning but $10K or most bookies I play from isn't something they can run away from...unless you play on a small platform which is why we should choose bookies/casino's diligently!!!

- snip - ... some betting sites are becoming dubious as that was how a man was also complaining that he funded his online betting account with a huge sum but it didn't reflect in the betting balance to the extent he wrote a report to the betting site and they told him it was from his bank and he went to the bank they told him that the money has already been sent to his betting account that's how the man became so frustrated and started playing on physical betting shops instead of online so sometimes it can be true.
I wonder why that guy didnt report about it to the authorities?
He will win the case because he has strong evidence, the transfer was made from his bank account and it is clear who the recipient is.
Sorry, but I think the story is a bit strange - does this story really happen or just a rumor?
If this story is a rumor then what is my gain bringing up the story in the first place, he is just an average man and he lectures in a university so he happens to be a friend to my elder brother as both of them met in a gambling hall so my brother assisted him in booking his games for him that was how they became friends and he normally sends games to my brother to book for him before my brother opened an online gambling account for him which he uses to stake his bets online before he funded the account and discovered the money didn't reflect.
What I just observed is that the man was very busy with academic works because as a lecturer he is always occupied maybe that was the reason he never developed time to follow up the issue and this is a man that have won bets severally according to my brother and he stakes with huge amount of money in his bets.

There must have been an error that led to that happening, and the gambler should exercise patience, I believe that his problem will be rectified as long as he has not broken any of the terms and policies of that casino. There's no way the casino would just want to trap his money without any cause, unless it's not a reputable casino. Since he has contacted support, let him be calm and wait for a feedback. I might not have faced this kind of problem before, but a reputable casino will obviously want to rectify this kind of issue in order to maintain their reputation. They would not just keep him under the sun like nothing happened without actually explaining what caused it.

The problem I used to have with this kind of news is that you may not even get information on how the problem was resolved.

I would probably get a lawyer and spread the word online about this sports betting platform trying to scam me. There's nothing else to do.
If the guy cannot login to his account, this is clearly a sign that he was scammed. Of course, the sports betting platform will come up with various reasons for blocking his account(breaking the Terms of Service, betting on fixed matches, etc.).
I've never been in such situation before. Maybe if I win a big amount of money, my sports betting platform would also start doing sketchy stuff and block my account.

There might have been some issues that made them log him out. Sometimes stories like this are usually done to give the company bad names. Because I know sportybet very well as ice seen a lot of people win so much and got paid never have I heard of their account being logged out. Ur might also be that he has cheated their website or better one way or the other and got detected so he had to be logged out. Though I still don't get the whole gist after reading the link.
If he is telling the truth, the it's nice he had come out to the public to ask for help and I'm very sure he will get some help that might call the attention of sportybet management team. For me, in such situations I'll do same and hope I get my account back so I can cash out my funds.

That is very bad of that Sportsbet company. Though I haven't heard or came across such situation before, but I believe since this matter has been brought to air, it may have been settled by now. I think what this man did is the best thing to do because without coming out to voice out, the case may have died silently. I still wounder why such reputable site that is well known will do such a thing. If they are not serious they should just close the site down instead of login their customer out which is a kind of fraudulent act.
This is the Sportybet company not the Sportsbet that is here that we know. Grin

I don't know if the matter of investigation is over? And there is no more news about this case, maybe Sportybet is still investigating issues related to this person and sometimes this problem often arises when there is a big win happening to him.

Closing the site is not an easy matter if Sportybet has other rebuttals, let alone provide evidence that this customer for example cheated and they could have withheld the customer's funds from his winnings.
For sure most people are really that believing that we are talking about Sportsbet which is really that totally different with Sportybet which we arent that hearing about this site or isnt really that known into this space.

This is the one of the issues that you would really be facing up on dealing up with platforms that havent been heard of or something that doesnt have that reputation or credibility on which you could really be having that high chance on facing up those issues on which it isnt really that shocking. On this kind of situation then you would really be having no option but to wait up on what their support would be telling.
If you would really be needing up to wait then you wont be having any option but to wait up. If there would really be no further response then it would be best on opening up a scam accusations thread
so that other people on the community would know about their shady behavior.

These issues are commonly be experienced at the moment that you would be finding on dealing up with unknown sites. This is why it would really be
always recommended that you should really be sticking with the best or simply that popular or on when people are mainly hanging out.

This is not about simply being logged out, because that happens a lot on various platforms, especially when they update the service and make you log back in and accept the terms.
The problem was that he couldn't log back in, so either his account was hacked or the service did not want him to log in and banned his account or deleted his username, or even changed the password in the database.

If the casino tries to block you after a big win, it's a scam and all you can do is file complains and sue them.

$10k is something significant and not something that could be ignored. Majority of people specially on 3rd world countries on which this amount is something that could do a lot of things.
Yes, I highly agree that $10k is a good amount to have for anyone, especially for those people who live in developing countries. But, those who live in developed countries also know that how useful $10k would be for someone who's homeless or who's facing huge financial issues. I believe the one who took action against that gambling platform took right decision and anyone else would also do that in similar situation.

Ask in live chat.
Mailed them.
Ask in their announcement thread.
Open a scam accusations.

That's all.

I won't go far like hiring a lawyer and sue them because the regulations in online casino is weak, probably there's no organization that will audit online casinos if they get accused. Because if regulation is working in online casinos, 1xbit's owner already jailed.

There is no story we won't hear from this end of our country anything is possible, and I am sucked and tired of stories over the need. You know the man has to be thoroughly interrogated to know if he has his account watched by someone or if they someone else had change his login details from their ends without him knowing because as I know, the said site has been existing for years and people has been cashing out an amount higher than that so, the man in question should be held responsible.

Yes I wouldn't dive in to say the man is seeking attention as some  social media influencer do but stand to be corrected, any well registered account with all credentials can easily  access it page if his log out except anything contrary is now involved,  hearing this for the first time doubt if this can be real or faking story just that there is nothing that is impossible but in this case will need more details and facts before concluding it happened in my own opinion as the write up which I expected to be link could not open to see more details.

Sportybet is known in my country, 5 out of 10 gamblers use the app for online sportsbetting, 14million naira is a small money for them to pay, they will not want to ruin their business over these kind of small loss.
I have read the article, unfortunately, there is not much detail in the article and if a bookie closes or blocks the user's account, I don't think it's because they are unable to pay, especially since you said that it is a fairly big bookie in your country, but there are other reasons, for example, detecting fraud or other suspicious things because for gambling sites all suspicious activity has an impact on his account no matter how much funds are in the account, but hopefully, that is not the case but there is something else that makes him unable to access his account and the gambling site should be able to provide appropriate response because it also concerns their credibility in how they handle cases experienced by their users. Trusted gambling sites will really care about what their users experience.

No, never!

But my first recommendation: Bet on sites that have a good reputation or have some reputation to maintain.

And second: If gambling is allowed in your country, always try to bet on sites that are under the jurisdiction of your country.

In the case of the first piece of advice, it is very valid for you to be able to "pressure" the site, because if it is a small site or one that does not have a reputation, nothing you do on the internet will have any effect, as the site will probably prefer to stay with the money illegally than defending its image.

The second is valid so that you can open a criminal investigation process against the website, as in many countries the laws do not apply to foreign companies or companies from countries where there are no commercial agreements in force. So, this could make your case a lot easier.

I am a sportsbet casino platform user but my gambling life experience admits such experience. I do not participate in gambling with large amounts of money and have never won large amounts of money gambling. But OP what you said is whether the casino platform is logged out after winning gambling money? And how did you deal with it? Yes it happened and the way I dealt with it was by connecting to the VPN and then accessing the account I was unable to access the account without VPN even when I spoke to team they couldn't give me honest advice. I plan to use VPN with my own idea and my plan succeeds.

Also I faced another problem that problem was because I was inactive for a long time and my balance was frozen from the casino platform, after talking to the team I immediately brought it back to the original balance and then everything was fine. Apart from this issue I have not faced any other issues from the Sport Casino platform.

I have not won more than 10 times before. That man would win more than 100x is my guess if what he said is true. It is already on the news, people will make sure that if what the man said is true, they will collect the money for him but that is if the betting site is capable. I do not know about sportybet, but it is better to use well known gambling sites that you know will be able to pay your money.
I think sportybet is actually reputable enough if you ask me because there are currently one of the biggest gaming sites that Nigerian engage their gambling habits on and I also have a sportybet account and believe this is the first am hearing of such stories that someone was logged out without access for him to get back in, if I have any suggestions I think someone who actually have access to the number he registered with can actually do what he complained happened to him.

I haven't been in such a situation before, and I don't even wish to get involved in any. In my history of betting, I have not won up to that among others; in fact, I even consider myself a minus to the monthly generated revenue of betting companies because I spend very little among each of my wagers, which can't even result in a big win.

And if I'm in the shoes of that guy, I will definitely do whatever I consider necessary in order to get back access to my account and withdraw that money. Sharing the story on social media will only be my first step; the next step will be to write to whatever regulatory body gave them the license to come and look into the matter.

In my country, local sports betting sites have physical offices, have telephone numbers and the most important thing is that they fear the laws of my country. That's why in cases like the ones you described, if it were in my country that person could complain to the office of the sports betting company he used and I believe he would be paid their winnings without any problems. Also because the sports betting company would have details of his account and would know that he really won, he would only need to take his ID that he made kyc, show the phone number where he created the account, the email address where he created the account and also show a document that proves his residence, it would have to be the same document he used to do kyc, in my country that would be enough for the guy to get paid

I have heard such story before, for a particular person who played bet and immediately the person is wining and they lodged out the person from their website and the person tried to login and they deny the person access, I could remember one certain time that I was reading something in this forum and someone give a reference of 1xbit, that they are a scam betting site that is good of scamming people even when you win in their platform they will not give you that access to make a withdrawal, so basically I think that it's a similar case if I'm not mistaken, but I have not heard of sporty bet if they are part of that.

This is really sad oo after making such money now the betting sites have log him out that's initially bad,I fell for him tho,it's just like having money in your account and then your been told it's locked it's so painful.
Have not had such experience or encounter before and I don't pray to have it cause it will definitely distabilize my mental health or is it that the sites want to share the huge amounts with the Man.
Sometimes hackers might be the one at it.

Sportybet is known in my country, 5 out of 10 gamblers use the app for online sportsbetting, 14million naira is a small money for them to pay, they will not want to ruin their business over these kind of small loss.
If this information is correct, then there is something seriously not right and the company might have good reasons to do what they did. This is my suspicion because they cannot afford to lose a market they dominate for a mere $10k which they make more than that daily. Imagine 50% of the market share of a country, that is huge. From what I have read, they are international so they are big by all standard and will not take this kind of risk, understanding that through social media, they can go viral for the wrong reasons. I have the feeling that they have enough evidence to defend their action. Assuming there is a way to monitor the case, it would have been nice to see how it will end.
The support should act on this right away or they might be exposed in the market for some error or a mistake, if there’s a suspicious activities on the gamblers account then I believe it should be communicated well and should inform the gambler for the valid reason of restricting his account. This is a big gambling site anyway, so let’s hope that they will not ruin their reputation with this amount, better to call the support with this situation.

A lot info lacking I think? Would've preferred to know the exact bet that he won it off from to check the match and odds myself really plus when did he appeal for customer support. And again, this is only one side of things. But well, not like casinos in general have stellar reputations in the first place lol.

Personally hasn't happened to me, would probably just contact customer support and wait a couple of days to maybe 2 weeks. After that, if there's no answer and the money is relatively big enough, I'd probably go to a lawyer and ask what I can do. Personally I don't think I can do jack about it, but hey, maybe they might.

My question is has anyone of you been in such situation before? And how were you able to handle such situation?
I have never been in a situation like that but if I ever face any similar situation in future then surely I will try my best to take the won amount.

The money that we win is our own money and if a casino tries their over smartness to rug our money then we should not allow them to do that.

I would also do that and try my best to report that casino at all available crypto forums and also I would try my best to take my money from that casino even if I need to go to extreme levels.
$10k is something significant and not something that could be ignored. Majority of people specially on 3rd world countries on which this amount is something that could do a lot of things.
You cant really just that let it slip away and let the platform will really be taking it away from you specially if you have done nothing or you have won it on the best and fairest way as possible.
Just like on what others been saying that it would really be that completely a questionable thing about those sudden log outs on the moment that you have won such bet on which you havent
been able to experience it before or something which is your first time.

On the moment like this on which you have contacted them on whats happening then give them some time at least on making up some explanation on what happened.
If ever they wont really be giving out some response or clarification in regarding the situation then it would really be just right that you would be opening some scam accusations
on which this could really make the community aware about the shady things that they are currently doing.

I have never been in such situation and this case might be very rare because sportybet is a site that is bigger than 14million which millions of people patronize every single minute of the day,
With them having this kind of figures as customer base they have more to risk since they know that any individual can have the access to large publicity because of the Internet and social media websites. The gambling platform has more to loose, and will not want to loose other customers because of man's win which is something that they should be able to afford since gambling is a flourishing business.

I have not been in such situation and I don't even want to face such difficulty in withdrawing the money I have luckily won from the casino, it was already difficult and terrifying to win gamble and win such a huge amount, it will be so bad to be a victim to this kind of situation. when the winner is supposed to be rejoicing, he is facing difficulty.

Haven't been and wouldn't want to be in such dire situation. Unfortunate for him on this experience. Totally unfair of course if this is a legitimate case and that the sports provider is covering their ears and setting aside their authority to take it seriously especially if there are proofs given.  I never encountered such instance and will surely be stressed if ever. Imagine how hard it is to win and end up with forfeit due to a problem no one will imagine. Check on the credibility of the sports provider as well because there's a tendency that things are done with intention and motive. I hope he would be helped on this.
My question is has anyone of you been in such situation before? And how were you able to handle such situation?
not me, but if it did happen, the first thing you can do is contact their support and try to get information as to what is happening to your account. if they fail to respond or resolve the issue after a while, let's say several weeks or a month/s, it'll be for the best to escalate it to gambling mediating platforms like casino.guru or Askgamblers to perhaps get the issue resolved, you can also involve the local authorities if the sports betting app you are gambling at is local in your country.

anyway, it was mentioned in the article that an investigation was being conducted, the article was made on May 12, so I am curious whether there has been an update to this case.
As stated, the gambler did not have possible feedback. Now everyone who learned about this case deserves an explanation from this sports provider if this platform would want to protect its credibility in this industry. If nothing will be given justice, then I wouldn't be surprised if they would be bashed or avoided.

Actually this is one of the reasons why people should be very careful in terms of choosing there betting site because not all can pay if there users won huge amount of money, however those things are mostly common on those new betting platform that doesn't have any good reputation yet, though I'm not saying that all the new betting site are bad but the fact is that not all of them are good so perhaps in terms of choosing a betting platform going for the one that people are more use to and has a very good reputation will be advisable.

one of the things I noticed is that most betting platform only pays smaller amounts but the moment there user won larger amount they find it difficult to pay the users, perhaps that's why going for the reputable ones are good because regardless of how much there users won they will pay them without hesitation, so perhaps it seems the guy gambled on the wrong betting platform, actually is really very unfortunate for him, so perhaps people should be able to learn from what happened to him and make a good decision when choosing a betting platform to gambling.

I've never experienced anything like this or heard a Similar case before. I understand how the affected gambler would be feeling now, especially when you already know that you won and customer support isn't responding. Since they said they are carrying out an investigation, it means they are working on something. While at it, it is necessary that the gambler reviews the casino's terms and conditions again to be sure that he is not the cause of the problem. The information he will get alongside other evidences might help him win the case against the casino if it becomes necessary that he takes legal action against them.

14million is quite alot to let go. If I find myself in a situation like this, I won't rest until I get what's rightfully mine or at least given a valid reason why I cannot be given that money. I just hope the investigation is concluded on time so everyone who is affected will be at peace.

I might consider giving a site time to investigate or whatever, if they are treating fair. Logging me out and not allowing me to access my account is not fair. Not answering my support queries and not answering emails is NOT fair. Giving me 0 answers as to what is going on is going to make me open a scam accusation immediately. Sites have to treat a customer as a CUSTOMER, not a criminal. Lock my funds and communicate with me as to what's going on and it's fine.
If that particular platform or site is really something considered legit and knows on how to handle up the business then of course they would really be needing to have that kind of approach into those users
who do have those kind of issues. It would really be that totally a mind boggling thing if you are really that being logged out on your account after you would really be able to hit up some good wins.
Hearing out nothing from them despite on contacting them on their support links or even live chat will really be giving out that kind of bad impression. Its right that giving them some time might
a considerable approach but winning up something this big for most bettor then for sure you cant really be that making yourself relax.

This is why at the moment that they wont be able to hear anything from the team then they would really that easily panic on which it would really be that a normal action that you would
be making on which having that scam accusations directly so that on the moment that they do see up those threads or complaints then it might that get their attention
but for a legit site to deal off with then they wont really be waiting for these things to come up with this.

I have never been in such situation and this case might be very rare because sportybet is a site that is bigger than 14million which millions of people patronize every single minute of the day, however, there is 100% possibility that the man must have forgotten his password or probably must have made a mistake trying to login. there are regulations in the site that requires authentication, so its quite imperative that the man checks his side for the mistake instead of dragging the sportybet site to the Mould because this is actually a defamation if the man is not careful.

There are still other several alternatives that can help the man facilitate his claim process, he can visit any of the sportybet mega dealer office around him and lay his complains and that will make him to understand what happened to his money rather than coming out to the public.

If the casino doesnt want to pay, they wont just close the account without any warning, shady casinos usually will find an excuse or justification for why they refuse to pay, and then they will close the acc.

A complicated case, as it is unlikely that the player has any evidence to support his claims, I actually suspect that this person is trying to blackmail the casino with his claim.
Is there any newest update regarding this case?

I have not won more than 10 times before. That man would win more than 100x is my guess if what he said is true. It is already on the news, people will make sure that if what the man said is true, they will collect the money for him but that is if the betting site is capable. I do not know about sportybet, but it is better to use well known gambling sites that you know will be able to pay your money.
Sportybet can easily pay the winner prize because for a while now I have seen them spending good amount of money on ambassador and other promotion, so for a company that can spend a good amount of money on they marketing, their should be able to pay the $10,000 winning, at least it not bigger than them since their have reputation to protect.

Most times what the reason for such actions could be, it may be a system trigger that automatically log out a player that hit such jackpot, but what I have not really pay attention to is if the man was able to log in back into his account after the system log out.

If someone bets on a local site or a relatively weak site, then if there is a big win, that site may be closed because that site is not a legitimate site. A gambler must carefully consider which platform he will gamble before gambling. I mention this because a friend of mine used to bet on one of our local sites. He also lost a lot there but one day he got a relatively big reward there and when he went to withdraw that money his account was no longer logged in. He found no existence of his account. If someone runs a bet on a scam site, it can be a big problem. If you don't have a reputable site then it can be considered a similar problem. And if it is a reputable site, they will definitely give access to that money if there is no violation of rules.

He may have actually won a huge amount which surged to the totality of the said amount and probably his account may have been on watch list which may have attracted the company or anyone in concern to log him out then.

In concurring with you, it is better to gamble on reputable gambling companies and not just one of those who gives possible chances to win. They can be trickish with criminal mindedness in such a case like mans scenario.

I won't worry because they always have the logs. All we can do is wait for their investigation to give results of what truly happened and I hope the dude is telling the truth because it would mean the online gambling site trust issues would be tainted if he is just making up things.

Anyway, I have never experienced such a thing yet. I think if it happened to me I should stay calm and let the support know what happened. The worst case is we won't have any proof of it because of the sudden crash or a forced log out because of maintenance or system failure but I bet they will still see it as long as you really hit the amount that you said.
I remember before when I closed my browser while I was still in the bonus round of a slot game. It still there hanging when I came back waiting for me to continue my bonus round. That's the only time I was worried with one of my bets.

It is possible to happen though I haven't heard that before because I have seen people win millions in my region and they are payed though it is not online betting, this one is just the normal betting shops but it is likely to happen because some of these betting sites are becoming very fraudulent as they can manipulate their sites sometimes to their own advantage but not rarely and for Sportybet I think the betting site is reputable as that is the most preferred betting site here in my country so if actually the person is telling the truth then it needs to be investigated because some betting sites are becoming dubious as that was how a man was also complaining that he funded his online betting account with a huge sum but it didn't reflect in the betting balance to the extent he wrote a report to the betting site and they told him it was from his bank and he went to the bank they told him that the money has already been sent to his betting account that's how the man became so frustrated and started playing on physical betting shops instead of online so sometimes it can be true.

I don't have that experience so far because I never wins much money from gambling. My gambling activity is not like other people who often playing gambling but I playing gambling occasionally and use small money. I feels that pain and I guess that man will confuse how he can solve his problem as the casino didn't gives helps to solve his problem. But I think that man can do that for more and waits for the answer from the casino and there's a way to that man to gets his account and withdraws his wins money. That money is big so maybe the casino will check everything, including will ask more documents if he is already verified his account. He must prepare that documents if the casino asks him so the casino can process to the next steps. Hopefully, that man can enters to his money and withdraws all of his money too.

I don't know if there a violation from the part of the gambler but this is red flag for me regarding the betting company. They would have at least replied and give reasons for their actions. I don't know why some gambling platforms usually wait for users to win big amount of money before they start looking for excuses not to pay the winning. I will advice others from that country to be careful of that company because their winning is not guaranteed. I hope the user is able to get his money as the news has gone viral because if they are unable to resolve it, that may affect the company in many ways because people will exit the platform.

This is weird, who would a casino act like that? i don't believe the story at all...

I mean, the amount wasn't big at all, 10k shouldn't be a problem for a casino, and if they don't want to pay they should lock the account and start the KYC process and not just log out the user. Something is tricky here, maybe there was a problem with the user cookie or something like that.

I tried to find the casino, but i wasn't able to read the full article.

Such hasn't happened to me, but it is unfair for the casino to put this man into all the troubles and emotional trauma that he is facing on his own winnings, in the name of investigation. Sportsbet did this on purpose, if not why don't they allow him to reset his password and have access to his account even though they want to investigate his win.

I smell something fishery, because the casino knows that if they give him access to his account, there will be prove that he won such amount, but now is like there is no prove which is making me sense scam in their actions. I believe that now that the man have cried out to the public, people who cares will come to his aid, even if it is for him to pay them to make sure that he get paid.

Can't he just recover the password after all he has access to the email.

The account was logout forcefully probably due to the casino power itself so it’s impossible to recover password on this scenario since the casino either ban or freeze his account already.  It’s very rare for a casino to automatically logout players while still playing, Actually I didn’t experience this scenario on any casino that I play in the past.

Sportybet probably doesn't want him to pay, I wonder how much his capital is that Sporty seems to think the 14M is too huge that they couldn't pay him. Very sketchy casino. There is just no option for Nigerians to play in crypto casino, they are not allowed in crypto casinos.

It’s just 10K USD which is not huge amount for a casino to pay. There’s multiple reason that user experience this inconvenience and one of them is the possibility of breaking the ToS

I haven't gone into this kind of situation. I am trying to access the article but it's not loading on my end.

So, with his account that can't be accessed anymore. It's possible that he could recover it when he contacted immediately the support before he tried to log in several times.

I think that's one factor why the system or the support didn't give a response. But then, that's just my opinion because I can't go through with the full details through the article, maybe someone or OP can post the whole or the important details about this story.

You will only experience this if you are a frequent bettor of shady mediocre casino. There’s a lot of this casino in my local and they frequently freeze or ban user account if the user frequently winning based on my friend experience before I convinced them to move crypto casino instead.

Fiat casino especially the local one frequently do this kind of bullshit since they are confident that it’s very hard to voice out concerns against them because they are regulated in my country.

Crypto casino especially with ANN thread here and active representatives typically don’t often have this problem unless the user itself involves in shady bets.

This is the reason to play with a reasonable bet site. I don't know how reputable SportyBet is, otherwise he can take it up with their support channels and have a solid evidence from them on the reason that they are with holding his money. Moreover, it is easier to take an offline casino to court because you can see the owners and agents physical and can get to arrest them for fraudulent act on you. So this is more likely to be the solution if you are sure no manipulation from your side on your bet and your winning is genuine.

I did not know about this news. It is quite disturbing something like it would happen to anyone one, so there is not much to add when comes to commenting on the fact that man was denied his fairly earned money.
Anyways, considering my personal case and the context of the country I live in, I would feel quite of hopeless to see a casino denying that amount of money from me, since here in my country there is no clear jurisdiction or law enforcement precedents on the government helping out to settle disputes with online casinos. Most online casinos actually do not even have official representatives in this country anyways, so I would be only me versus de casino administration. I would obviously lose.

That is why one always needs to to look at where one is betting and make sure it is a big casino with a huge liquidity to offer the winners.

So, to all of you, never put big stakes on sport betting when the casino is small or when there is no legal representative of the casino in your country, otherwise they could do the classic manouver and claim one has broken the terms of use and get away with it.

Have I been in a similar situation won $10,000 before? Smiley No, I would remember such a significant event in my life.

What should you do if you exited an online casino app where you won a big sum? This is obvious. Enter your username and password in the empty lines, and then click “login”. Smiley I don’t understand what problems this lucky guy has? Let him contact the support service of Sportsbet and restore access. Or does Sportsbet not want to pay him a reward and thus prevent him from gaining access to an account with #14million?

This NEVER happened to me before. Why? Because I lose money in most of my Crap sessions - the casinos love me, and I need log myself out or I will lose more. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Plus it would be safer to play in more reputable casinos. Although, the man's concern might be ongoing, and it will probably be resolved, no?

When I read news like this, I don't even know what to make of it. The pain, the regret and emotional trauma that the customer must be going through would be something else. Unfortunately, even public outcry or a suit against the sports betting site will not change his situation. It is not pessimism it is just that there are no strong regulatory bodies that fight and protect the consumers.

I haven't been in this situation before and I pray that I don't. It would be a nightmare.

Take a look at my merits, It's lucky number
I've experienced this on my Rollbit & Stake account, but it wasn't because of a problem on the platform side, I forgot my password which made me unable to log into the platform and then I requested a new password via the "Forgot Password" menu. From the two platforms I mentioned, all the problems I experienced were resolved smoothly.

If we experience a problem related to a platform, the way to solve it's by communicating with the platform (as I did). SportyBet isn't a new platform, so I think the problem he's experiencing isn't from the platform, why doesn't he try the "Forgot Password" menu?, I see that it requires a cellphone number for authentication, if it was really his account he would have easily solved the problem and can log back into the platform.
Exactly. The possible problem with that is because the gambler or the person who won a huge amount of money from his account doesn't know his own password, or he has forgotten it and can't remember the password, and even if he will do Forgot Password, if he just creates an account without securing the password, even the email he will use, then expect that there will be no way of accessing the account anymore. I know the platform may help in some way, but the thing is, when it comes to account recovery, they could not easily do it because what is the proof that it is your account? How can they be sure that it's yours and not just someone else's? There are procedures to be followed, and as a user of the platform, you are responsible for your account because it's impossible that the problem is caused by the platform; if so, they should be sanctioned, but in the case of the person in the story, it's not; he simply doesn't remember his password.

We can consider the credibility or level of trust in a platform if the platform has just been established, but, in this case we can't do that considering that Sportybet has been established since 2013, they already have built up trust. It could be that the error is on the user's side.

As I said before that I've tried "Forgot Password" on the platform that @OP is referring to and it requires authentication, if the account really belongs to him, he should be able to easily resolve this issue without having to raise it in the media.

Based on what I read so far, the only news that reported this issue is the Punch Newspaper. I wonder why other media don't publish his interview too. Is it exclusive to Punch or is there something else I don't know of? I believe it would be better if he did interviews or shared his story on other media too to put pressure on the casino itself.

And the unfortunate things happen, it seems that this person can't withdraw his money and it looks like the casino is asking for many documents from him, in short KYC.
Yeah, they even asked him for his Skype ID if the screenshots are legit. Maybe they want to interview him first, or use this question as a reason to deny his claim. Hard to tell what's the cause if there's no story from the casino itself.

I haven't experience such incident like this before but if I'm in the situation, I'll report it to their customer service or much better if you have a proof of winning like screenshots but we can't tell because this is an accident incident only. I think it will resolve once investigation has been done, because there's a history of activities in every players account.

No, I haven't been in this kind of situation before. And obviously, if you have big money in a casino and playing and suddenly you are logged out by them, then start to feel very nervous. And the unfortunate things happen, it seems that this person can't withdraw his money and it looks like the casino is asking for many documents from him, in short KYC.

But the thing is that even if you send all the documents including your bank account, it doesn't mean anything for a casino and will refuse to pay. So it's really hard where this things will end, even if you go to court or any other mediator, it's not a guarantee.

Not yet but if it was me. I will fight or push with the winning. Also if the site is known as legit one I think they will honor it plus surely it was recorded on the system whether someone has really bet and won.

Thats a big money to let go and probably wouldnt be ignore by sliding up and support will tell its due to lag or any some sort of error.

Btw does the site is known platform or unpopular one?

this is not an issue at all. As long as the betting site hasn't closed down and isn't anonymous, legal action can be taken against them and they will be forced to pay back the money. You know some of the local betting platform would try to outsmart you when you've won a huge sum of money and try shutting you out. It's a very bad act that should be discouraged in it entirety. I know they might be working on framing shit that will suggest that the gambler didn't win such amount of money or stuff like that but since the slip is available and other possible evidence that's in the possession of the gambler , it's easy to bring a solid case against them. And I know that some human right firms would only want to jumpt into this case sinces it has gone public.

My question is has anyone of you been in such situation before? And how were you able to handle such situation?
honestly, this is this first time time I'm hearing that such thing as this is possible. The regular one I know of with most sports betting shops is that after you've won and you come back to take your money, if the money is too big, some of these sports betting shops would intentionally close thier shops for the for reasons best known to you. The best betting channel is that which allows you to do your bet at the comfort of your home, endure your losses when it happens and also enjoy your win without a third party even getting to hear about it.
