What's your opinion on lottery, whether it is an addicted gambling practice or it is quite Ok to buy lottery regularly. There are people who allocate separate fund from their earnings for lottery. Only the luckiest will make the win, and today got to read about a lucky winner on the UAE lottery. It is the first time in his lifetime buying a lottery, and he had won about $3 million. He's working as a labour and he has said to the media he'll buy agricultural land in his village (India) and support develop the school in his region.

It's no secret that the lottery is a game of luck. No strategy is needed, no analysis, but a gut is needed. Honestly, I'm an enthusiast of playing the lottery here in our place. It's not that I'm expecting to win but who knows. We don't know when lucl will hit us so I placed a bet everyday. I always place a bet on lottery on the aveage of $1 day.The lottery here is cheap and averaging only $0.39 per bet.

I'm hitting 3 digits as always that's why I don't like to stop betting on lottery. Who knows in the future.

In my opinion, this is only for the one who really has big luck. but yeah, the lottery is making people addcited. And how much addiction to someone will also depend on someone itself. Commonly, someone will be really addicted to lottery when he has won once of the lottery and he is trying again nd again to bet his luck to win the lottery, even after thousands times losing from lottery but he will think that he will win someday like the day when he won (only once). That is bad enough but that is the way gambling addition will play on some people. feeling that he is luck but in fact he is bad enough, not even good thinking baout how much he has lost and how much he gained. And lottery  is one of the gambling addictions that commonly also faced by many people in the world.

People had those common things in mind when thinking about lottery on which they could really changed up their lives if they would able to hit that jackpot
and its non surprising that there would be people who would really be allocating funds for them to buy regularly and able to make out some bets and there
are some who do just play or bet seldomly or even one time kind of bets which is on the example on where i could say that this guy is extremely lucky
on winning up the jackpot on just buying a single lottery ticket which makes him to win.

I can only speak of the situation here in our country, many people are buying lottery daily because we have a lottery outlet on almost every corner of every city here and the prize is very huge, and ticket is very cheap so many of my friends are into the lottery, it's addictive because it's cheap and a large percentage of the citizen here in our country are into the lottery, because of the living condition here in our country many take their chance to lottery to change their lives for the better.

Winning on lottery is one time big time, it can totally brings good money to you that can change your whole life. Many are betting because of a hope that they can be millionaire one day and its fine as long as they didn't gamble that much. Lottery is easy to play but don't expect too much in lottery, very few here was able to win even if they bet small money, they are called the luckiest bettor.

It's okay to play the lottery and allocate some of our income to buy lottery tickets. Because we never know the luck we have, so why not try playing
the lottery, who knows we are among the lucky ones. The most important thing is that we don't get addicted and obsessed with winning the lottery,
that's not a good thing to do. I think the lottery is our chance to get rich, even though the percentage of success is very small, but at least the lottery
can give people with low income the hope of becoming millionaires.

That's one lucky guy winning a lottery on his first bet, I've known a lot of people here in our neighbors who bet almost daily because they are betting the same number hoping that it will eventually win in the long run, many people are hooked in our country because here in our country there is the second prize when you miss one number and third price when you miss three tickets and the prize of the ticket here is cheaper, you can buy it for only $0.45 so everyone here can afford it.

^ There are still people hoping for their luck and I think that is not bad if you can afford what you have spent. Buying lottery tickets is very cheap and I think, 2-3 daily is very affordable even if you are a farmer. That lucky winner is truly lucky, imagine that he's the first time buying a ticket and then hitting the jackpot, it means the jackpot price was really meant to him. There are too many stories like this but there are some people who have tired of trying their luck on lotteries because the chances of winning are quite low or a tiny one, so it is pure luck when you have won it.

Well, with crypto I found ways to earn tickets while I am playing/wagering, or like in freebitcoin where we get them from faucet claim and now WoF spins as well... I rarely buy lottery tickets, but I do it from time to time if it looks interesting and new! Recently BC.games added lottery so I bought a few tickets just for fun, they are very cheap, just $0.1, but before that, I can't remember I bought any, probably a very long time ago!
So I am simple... if I can earn tickets in some way that is interesting and I will most likely participate, and when it comes to buying tickets I rarely do it!

I don't think the lottery is lucrative. Theoretically, you always have a chance of winning. I've also read that you have to pay more to win the jackpot than you should statistically. In short, you pay too much for a lottery ticket, and the lottery organization always has a profit. Not that weird either. You have no influence on it yourself, there are no statistics you can do anything with. Some people like lotteries, though.
The chance of winning on lottery is very low and its proven by computing the probability to win, so don’t expect too much if you are just a small time bettor, you should also be more lucky on this. Many people wants this because its affordable and easy to play, they just need any combination numbers and if you got lucky, you might win some. The more you bet the more chance of winning, I wonder how much you can bet just to win a $1.

The odds of winning on lottery is very low but since its cheaper, many people are still hoping to win on this lottery even myself I also place a bet here in our local lottery because its affordable but the real problem here is, you are slowly getting addict on that lottery and your hope of winning makes you more active in gambling. If you got lucky enough, this can totally change your life.

I think it's kind of addiction if you're in it regularly since you're on that idea that you may get it, or you can't skip a day without entering a new winning entry hoping and praying. I think lottery regulars knows it in the first place that only a rare few will make it but they still continues. Well, this new guy is a different one and I think there's a purpose he won it anyway and I guess that's a good way to put it.

A first time buyer wins $3 million? Must be damn luck on earth. I have tried buying lotteries locally and online but never turned lucky enough even to win a least prize. I have read about beginner's luck in gambling and this must be one of the big such case; really ridiculous on hearing.

I stopped wasting my money on lottery and even with freebitco.in, I have opted to get reward-points instead of lottery tickets as my luck never favored me in more than 3 years of time and I may roll regularly there for at least 5 to 10 times a day. Honestly it is not okay to spend money on lottery regularly. Lottery is also a highly additive kind of gambling hence not trying will help anyone.

Lotteries are as addictive as gambling because if you buy lottery once then you will probably buy it again in the hope of winning the grand prize.
The failure in winning the lottery triggers our inner emotions to keep trying again and again making us addictive towards the grand prize.
So I would say this is the same as gambling and we should try to have a self control and limit ourselves from buying these lotteries.

Gambling is very different from Lottery in terms of risk-reward relationship. In gambling, you take a risk and get a reward (or lose money) immediately. The instant relationship between risk and reward generates excessive dopamine in the brain. This excessive flow of dopamine induces the gambler to continue betting more if he is on winning streak or significantly increase the bet amount if he is losing.

But lottery is not as risky as gambling because there is adequate time differential between risk taking and reward winning which balances the dopamine and player doesn't make the sentimental decisions. Secondly, the amount at stake per action is much lesser in lottery as compared to gambling. I was trying the new lottery game launched on BC.GAME earlier today and the cost per ticket was only $0.10. So, even if I lose, it's not like I am going to spend whole of my stack on the lottery tickets the next day which significantly reduces the risk of bankruptcy compared to gambling.

Nevertheless, considering the winning probability in lottery, it is surely an economically wasteful activity and in majority of the cases always a sunk cost (unlike gambling). But it's human tendency to always seek for hope and the major reason why lottery still exists after the 6 centuries since the first recorded lottery draw.

If you look at the parents around where I live, lottery gambling is becoming quite an old game. And some of them still do it the conventional way. By providing a prediction number that they have already purchased tickets for through the bookies who explored our forge then we only need to wait for an announcement a week later.

For me personally, lotteries test how lucky we are, and it's hard to guess for someone who can't do a lot of calculations.

It is fine if you don't take them too seriously. I believe most of them are either scams or mathematically don't make sense to participate. The government usually see lotteries as charities. They take their huge tax/cut from the main pie and distribute the rest to the winners.

The chances of winning the lottery tells you everything you need to know about it. You cannot win and it is not wise to waste money on it.

I had a phase a few years ago where i participated in the national lottery twice a week for a few months here in Germany. Even though i always chose as many possible combinations as possible and therefore also spent quite a lot of money on the tickets twice a week i never really won anything that is worth to nice here that is why i stopped buying lottery tickets a long time ago. When you do sports betting or other gambling you have at least a little influence on the outcome of your games, even though it is still very much luckbased (especially in most gambling games), while in the lottery it is 100% luck based.

I consider it a poor peoples tax, something which is quite close to impossible to win, yet those that are poor, and don't have other means of making that sort of money, tend to hope they'll win it, and therefore buy a ticket every week. Crypto lotteries usually aren't up to the standard of fiat ones simply because they don't have the money pot that they've at their disposal, though they often require similar requirements to be met to win.

Absolute the worst type of gambling you could partake in if your aim is to win some money. Obviously, gambling isn't exactly the best idea if your looking to win some money in the first place, but the lottery is absolutely the worse type.

I know a lot of people who go as far as saying that the lottery is a scam, while I probably wouldn't go that far due to it being pretty transparent that your not going to win, however what I find is people who aren't interested in actually reading up on the statistics, don't quite grasp how unlikely they're to win. In fact, I'd probably say most people don't grasp statistics either even though they've read them.

what I think about the lottery, for me the lottery is just a moment of entertainment to relieve boredom and burden of mind. If I win maybe it's my luck once in a lifetime because the ratio of winning the lottery is 1:1000.
why does anyone win so many times? means that the person is very lucky, but how many times has the lucky person participated in the lottery, and how much capital has been spent.

Agricultural Land is a good investment. Hope he buys the $3M worth of agricultural land otherwise, he will have tons of unrecognizable relatives.

He is got to be the luckiest Indian who one day happens to just buy a lottery ticket and then the rest is riches. I see my dad make use of his walking exercise in the afternoon to go to a lottery ticket booth and back to the house and he does this every day even before he retires from his job. I kept telling him it's a rigged game, and we could just drink the money he spend on it. But this time he just says it's for his daily exercise that matters.

For every one like that there are more than 99% who lose money in the lottery in their lifetime. If you add up what they have won, which are usually withdrawals and small prizes, and subtract what they have spent, the vast majority lose money.

Try this lottery simulator and you will understand:

https://www.cuandomevaatocar.com/en/

The lottery is basically an EV game, what happens is that since for a derisory amount it can change your life, many of us play, and I include myself, in spite of the fact that the mathematics are against us.

As for whether it is addictive, it is much less so than other game modes, even now that you can buy it online.

So, anyway, i think lottery is just a number games that based on your luck and if that story about Op is true then I can't say anything but congratulations to that guy. His idea of helping his fellowmen is rare and I've seen someone did that too in order for their place to rise and fight poverty.

depends if the person can afford to buy a lottery regularly. and yeah it can be addicting. the fact that the ticket is cheap is probably one of the reasons why a lot of people buy lottery tickets even if their chance of winning is slim to none. although I haven't been doing it lately, I too used to allocate a portion of my salary to buy lottery tickets on a regular basis.

One can as well get addicted to lottery just like every other gambling practices. Buying lottery regularly is an addictive act because as time flies it gradually plays  out that staked funds keeps increasing as the eagerness to make some great return from investment keeps pushing the hunger to play more. Lottery is one game where once  testimonies of those who have played and won and how much they were able to win gets to spread the hunger to play more gets activated because the believe that some day the gambler too could be lucky plays out

For a gambler? of course it's a good deal to buy a lottery ticket but you have to understand the chances of winning on this game.

And just like any games, you don't need to be addicted to it as obviously, it is another game of chance. And that is true, it is base on luck. And maybe that's what really to this guy, who is a first time buyer of lottery tickets but fortunately for him, lady luck is on his side. And the good thing is that he is trying to get back to his community by building a school. "Karma begets karma".

I feel you need to be more specific in saying the lottery because at this time the lottery is one thing that is quite common and has many kinds.
I personally am still in this case, but indeed we all know that they must be really lucky in this case because this really tests your luck factor there Cheesy
But on the other hand I don't think of it as gambling because I really feel this is my entertainment when I'm tired

I came accross a video on Instagram about this news I guess today, so yes if the luck wants to hit you hard it will happen so no matter who is buying lottery tickets regularly ir its just the first time in his life but don't become addicted to it which is the worse possible thing to happen when it comes to luck based gambling, anyway for him the new year begins with a lucky slap which is going to change his entire life.

There are many type of lottery out there, I think you should mention a specific type of lottery you want to discuss or get opinion from others.
I myself was a lottery fan in the past (during 2008-2013) IIRC and it was a 4D lottery which is the most popular lottery in my country.
I have to admit that I was addicted to it in the past, I spent a lot of money during that 5 years and I bought it almost every day.
Lost a lot money in my first 2-3 years but luckily I could win big amount eventually which recover my whole lost money + small profit then I decided to reduce my activity in buying lottery and I could 100% stop it after 5 years play it regularly.

Statistics has shown that winning a lottery is like 1 is to 200-300 million. So that is a long shot already. But why are there several people who not only won once, but many times already? Well, my simply answer is that they are extremely lucky and they stick to one numbers that they have been betting for the rest of their natural life. Of course, everyone can buy a ticket, but the odds are pretty much against you, just saying.
