My biggest bad experience in crypto is related to DOGE. I lost a couple of thousands DOGE in ponzi shemes (trying to double my investment in 24h). Besides that, I sold 80% of my DOGE when it reached a price of 0.01$, as I thought this would the maximum price for DOGE... Everybody who is already long enough in crypto will probably have similar stories.

I have had no bad experience up to now. However, everyone might have a bad experience. And, please check your grammar while writing
That's good for you but usually everyone has bad days and bad times in crypto, we all did something that we regret, or we all faced something that we regretted. The important point after you did something wrong is not to be upset but to learn from it, as long as you could learn from it then you could be doing fine. I personally did many mistakes, and I am proud that I never did them twice, that us the important thing.

As the great saying goes, "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". This is why I have to say it is clear to me that making a mistake is not something you should be ashamed of, making the same mistake twice is the real problem because that means you never learned from your mistake.

worst experience and we have to be more careful when we are in the crypto world, because if we lose our assets we automatically can't find out who stole or took our assets..
.therefore the main key is not to repeat my carelessness in providing one of the codes that can access the crypto wallet which is actually already stored tightly..

Panic sell your coins for a very cheap price then under a few minutes the coin started to pump so high, also clicking on a fishing link with the hope that you are on the right link of an ido only to discover few minutes after you have sent your funds over that it is the wrong link and you have just been scammed,  this are very bad experience especially when you are a newbie.

The mistake we often make in investing in cryptocurrencies is when the target has been reached we do not immediately take profits so increase the next target. This causes if the price drops we will immediately panic. In trading cryptocurrencies we must be consistent in profit targets. There is no plan in making decisions. Don't change easily just because the target you achieve can still be higher. Consistent is no. 1.
That is something that I have done many many times over now. I usually do not get in with an "end game" in mind and just hold things for as long as I can, try to not get out as long as I can as well. That usually ends with me holding something from bottom to peak to bottom again.

I can't say that it is a great feeling, it is a very sad feeling but at the end of the day I also made a lot of money thanks to it as well. I can't say it is a bad strategy for me, it is not a great one but it is not a bad one neither. This is the method I made most of my profit so I know that I am doing something good, but almost all of that came from the top three coins, rest did go up and down and I should have sold at the peak.

No bad experience so far cos am still a newbie in crypto. Although scammers have been trying their possible best to scam and mislead me to invest in their scam projects through telegram. It has not been working for them based on the knowledge I have gotten from this forum. Big kudos to the btt forum anyway for imparting me with the desirable knowledge to research on a project first before investing. To differentiate a legit project from scam projects.
for me the work in the crypto world is not always smooth, there will certainly be a new wave, but it is for our new experience. Scammers will always create new things that are difficult to detect from the start, but we will find out how they cheat, such as buying coins on dex but can't be sold, there are still many people who don't know about this. In order to avoid this problem, we must know the solution..?

It's very good start for you in crypto as you have no bad experience but still keep one thing in mind that this crypto world is full of hype and scams so just never enter any air drop or bounty where you have no good knowledge about this project or program. Good thing you have some good understanding of this all and doing good search here on this forum which is very helpful for all newbies because here few members doing hard work on many fake projects and scam air drops which are very helpful for all community. We need some more effort from ourselves as well for exposing these cheaters in this crypto community.

I have had a number of bad experiences in my crypto journey in the previous years namely;

In 2016 my custodial wallet was hacked and lost all my crypto, and in the same year I'm one of the victims of the Hashocean exit scam and lost some BTC
In 2017 I was scammed three times in the ICO it has become an exit scam. without any listing event,
In 2018 I was bought too many altcoins that turn out to be shitcoins and died in the process because I believe in the saying" don't put your investment in just one basket" But I was too confident and bought 15 coins and tokens that eventually die.
In 2019 depositing a token in Yobit that was lost and the sockpuppet support didn't help me.

In terms of getting scammed, I didn't experience it because I can distinguish which projects are scam and which are not. Maybe another thing is that I'm just lucky when it comes to investing into new projects and I'm not investing too much onto new projects because I'd prefer established coins. Lower risk and lower reward as well.

Probably the worst experience in my crypto journey is when I got FOMO'ed twice. I will not say what coin is it but I saw an announcement from them that they are having a partnership with a very famous company. In the end, it didn't went well for me because I bought the coin very late and I lost half of my initial capital on it. It happen not only once but twice. I feel regret from it that is why I stopped trading after that.

Everyone must have had a bad experience in the world of cryptocurrencies. especially those who have spent money to buy some coins but ended up losing. My worst experience was almost the same as yours, I didn't let go of the tokens I held when the price skyrocketed and I ended up losing the opportunity to earn $6k. This is the worst experience, which I made a lesson in the future to be even better.
Sometimes holding a coin for too long when the actual price has come to the coin will look very greedy, but it can still be obtained at other times if you let go for take profit of $6K at that time.

For me, the worst time was when I first heard about cryptocurrency. And I, like many other participants in Internet projects, did not understand that the future would be behind digital technologies. It seemed to me that this is a fraudulent scheme that wants to take my money using this incomprehensible cryptocurrency. And I refused to believe it. And time passed and the cryptocurrency became everything more popular and more popular. And after a while I realized that I was wrong about this new technology. Since he could earn very decent money. But alas, time has passed, the cryptocurrency has become known and it has become much more difficult to make money with the help of cryptocurrency than before.

As a beginner of course at that time I didn't know much about cryptocurrency and its development. with an incident like that will be a lesson for me personally and for others of course.
Everyone who has grown up has always been inseparable from the bitter experiences they have gone through or have done in the past, even though everyone has different things in learning these lessons, so I think these things need to be said again at this time.
Indeed. We will have many experiences in our lives, including bitter or sweet experiences, which make us grow up and become wiser. When we have a bad experience in crypto, we can minimize getting the same experience by managing the risk that can happen to prevent it. It is normal if we do not have many skills in crypto because if we can learn more details, our skills will improve and we can adapt to many situations.

I got a lot of experience in living life in the world of cryptocurrency. some of those experiences were bad experiences. some of the worst experiences I've had in the crypt world are

Scammer
It even exists today. so many scammers are trying to trap new users, or even old users. some of the things that happened to me were investing in ICO projects which ended up being a scam, and also some coins that became rug pulls. I'm pretty sure that some people have felt this way.

Phishing Site.
this is still part of the scammer. they even created a site that is very similar to the original site, so that I didn't notice it. this happened a few years ago. when I log into a phishing web from blockchain.info. about 0.15 btc i have lost there. Well, at that time the price of bitcoin was not as high as it is today.

Expensive fees
Well, this also made me think that in order to do one transaction, we need to pay a heavy price. this happened when I made one transaction on one of the DEX. well, the fee is very expensive, and it makes my calculation wrong about the profit I get.

well, I think there are still a lot of bad experiences I've had with crypto. however, until now, the profit I got is still pretty good. besides, it also made me learn to be wiser.

My worst experience on Crypto is in trading. Once upon a time I got tokens and there value was 77$ I sold it. Today same quantity tokens value is 800$. And second time I got tokens from Airdrop there price was 30$ and I holded it after one day there price is 10$. Its my worst experience. I learned from this that never trade without research.

to be involved in the ICO project I haven't tried it like you have done, but the mistake I experienced while joining the crypto community was that I was too confident to keep the Altcoins I got from the Prize Project so that until now there is no longer available market for me to sell Tokens the. this is the worst experience i've had
Too bad you can't sell the altcoins you got and why do you really believe in keeping them at that time,
regardless of whether the experience is good or bad must have a lesson,
regret will always be there and I hope it will be replaced

Almost everyone have had one or more experiences at first that was quite bad, and served as an eye-opener for them. I did have one really bad experience when I was still starting in the cryptocurrency world, and it taught me a lot and opened my eyes, and all I needed was that one experience to make wise up.

When I was a newbie I didn’t really get how the system works and I was still trying to understand cryptocurrency and how I would go about it, because I had no one to teach me, I just came across bitcoin on article online and I felt it was quite an interesting thing to be part of, so I did without the help of anyone there to guide me. I ended up being scammed once, and lost all the money I had invested at first while I was trying to sell my coins. That served as an eye-opener indeed, and I became really wise till date and never fell for any other scam.

Frankly OP, I don't understand anything you just said except what is in the title. I can tell you that I lost a lot of money farming on Ethereum. I payed a crazy amount in gas fees and the farm collected profits from the governance tokens it automatically farmed and gave me useless FARM tokens. I didn't check but it appears that the supply of FARM tokens is infinite, so I was farming for nothing. I wasted a lot of time and money on that. From now on I don't use automated farming protocols, I only farm directly in places like Spookyswap, Pancakeswap, and Ref Finance.

The worst experience I've ever had was losing a Private key, and this incident made me very sad and devastated because in my wallet there are several altcoins that have high prices and several other altcoins that have the potential to develop in the present. and this incident occurred when my PC died and could not be used anymore. while all my data is in the PC. this is my worst experience, so for now all crypto files I have stored in the mailbox.
Imagine that as the most expensive learning experience of your life. There are thousands of people every year (probably millions) that studies in college and pay a lot of money, since they do not work they get a loan and then they are in debt forever. This is very true for USA, but I am sure there could be some other nations that have it as well, in my nation private schools have a last year chance for something like that, so it is sort of happens here as well.

This is why I believe that we should not be focusing on what we lost, but focus on what we learned and I am pretty sure many of those graduates with ton of debt never learned something as valuable as you learned by losing your private key.

Many people in this market have bad memories. My luck was never good, but it was all because of my mistakes. I lost a lot of money because I traded at the wrong times and accidentally shared my wallet password. Sharing a wallet password was a complete idiocy, everyone should hide it carefully  Cheesy
Of course it is a very fatal mistake and you should not do that,
but it has happened and hopefully we can make this incident a lesson so as not to be careless and always be careful,
It's clear that not everyone has bad memories so don't worry
It depends on how you define "bad memories". The one who bought two Pizza with thousands of bitcoin may not consider this as a bad memory.
With the same logic, as you got a lesson from your mistake so we can not consider it as a bad memory.

My worst experience is the fact that in 2014 I did not take seriously my friend's advice to start collecting and accumulating Bitcoins. I had every opportunity for this, but I did not take advantage of them.
I almost had the same mistake when i was advised to be paid in bitcoin for a freelance work on photoshop but i refused because i didn't yet realize at that time that it's worth trying. Another bad memory was when i sold my savings in an alt with 60% benefit, that token got more than 500% ATH.

Actually, I have never suffered from scammers as I try to be very careful and I investigate all documents and even smart-contracts. Nevertheless, I was a victim of hackers. The biggest loss of mine was about 100$. It was a yield farming platform and at first everything was OK.

I did research of its smart contract and docs, but then they launched V2 so they changed something and it was a vulnerability that was used by a hacker who printed millions of tokens to himself.

I have a worst-than-worst experience which is unrecoverable at all. If I can recall correctly in 2018 after dumping Bitcoin I bought two altcoins. One of them was delisted from the exchange from where I bought. So ultimately I lost a lot there. And another coin dump hard as well that hasn't recovered yet. My 1.5 Bitcoin become just $1K now. So I left them as it was rather than sold. This is a costly lesson for me, it's just not the worst.

The lesson and experience made me ZERO today rather than Hero. I can't forget that ever. During that time I didn't have much experience to choose a cryptocurrency hence selecting the worst coin.

I think the only bad experience I had with crypto was when I was very greedy such that I didn't take profit after the price had moved toward my speculated price mark with some decent profits earned already, unfortunately  the price reversed and I ended up losing all the profit earned earlier and lost part of my portfolio it was a very sad experience, however I learnt my lesson and move on bearing in mind that more opportunities of such will come and utilize such opportunities but with diligence, patience and contentment of whatever profits earned.

The bad experience that I have is the price of coins that have not been pumped since a few months ago. I'm afraid he won't pump anymore and become a shitcoin, I hope that doesn't happen. So I'm still waiting and hoping. At times like this, my mentality and patience are tested, therefore I will not rush to sell coins at low prices which actually makes my experience in cryptocurrencies worse. I also try not to panic and stay positive, so that time will pass quickly and suddenly the coin pumps by itself.

Same, probably not cashing out and still waiting for the price to go up.

Or totally forgot that I have x amount of tokens, and when I checked, they've move to a new one and I failed to exchange my old token rendering them useless.

Of course, there are scammers waiting in the wing and will do everything to convince you to give them money.

Those are some of my worst experience in crypto, maybe I still have some, but that are on the top of my head right now.

It took me a while to understand your case, I hope I don't misunderstand and analyze
it looks like you are a greedy person who dreams of getting more profits, on the contrary you experience losses
, my friend, that's a natural thing, I think everyone must experience it, when we want to get more profit, it's even worse, but that can be used as a lesson so as not to be greedy again, it's happened to me too actually

The worst overall experience in my mind was to change my position by being caught in FOMO in cryptocurrencies and to make losses by trading one after the other, this turned out very badly for me. There are other bad experiences I've had, but none of them have been this memorable. However, I missed a lot of opportunities, I don't see them as important, there are always opportunities, I just look to gain experience and try to learn new things every day.

That's surely was a scam if they're asking you for payment just to take your hostaged fund. I think the worst experience that I've got in crypto related experience is just about the sudden plummet of the market. I find it a very bad experience when I'm not able to sell during the top and the market suddenly come into a correction. It has happened to me many times when I'm in need and didn't sold because I was expecting for it to increase for more.

Well ICOs were all like scam pit in that year already, and if you were reading the news a lot as well as plenty of discussion in here, you could have already decided that it is time to cash that 10x'ed money of yours. I cannot blame you at the same time because you might have thought that that project is for long-term, but make sure to remember next time that "pump and dump" projects are quite common in newer projects.

If I am going to share my worst experience in crypto, it would be just an airdrop trying to phish me.

My worst experience in crypto? Uhm probably trading wherein no excuses if you made mistakes you loss, i mean when i was a newbie trying some stuff to make money using crypto i choose trading.. And i lost my entire account like a blink of an eye because of greediness without awareness , first lack of knowledge, secondly the skills and of course experience.  I have nothing for short, but still trade my money .. Lol suddenly i realise it's not easy, because you know at my first and second try its become successful so i was confident to try another one. But suddenly liquidited!  Grin that my worst experience because i was expecting more but it changed because of the results.. So i stopped that nonsense and learn from my mistakes.. And so on I've start learning a lot until now and yeah i understand what the F I'm doing that time.. Lol

Maybe many here are experiencing this, because at this time I also lost a lot on the BSC platform when I held tokens in staking but what happened was that the platform was hit by FUD so many holders left tokens and my biggest mistake was not focusing on monitoring the development of the tokens that were being used, so now i have to hold it for the long term because at the moment the tokens are no longer valuable and for now i can only hope the tokens return to a better level.

Most of my bad experiences were between 2017-2018 because when i was young in the crypto space and i didn’t understand about market movement even though when i was not like doing my own research regarding crypto. My first worst experience ever, I didn’t sell my coins those are pump more than 50x-100x. And second step was, i sold all of those in the bear market.

my worst experience in the crypto world was when I played futures trading with quite a lot of capital,
worth $1000 and finally $1000 was lost due to wrong analysis while trading!,
yes, that's the thing that made me stay silent for a long time because I regretted it,
even though when I used $100 or $200 of capital I could still earn $10 per day, and now i am quit from leverage trading

worst experience ah I don't think it's a rare experience I've also felt what you feel 80% of people will act like that to take more profit with full risk awareness ,but the reality of the future is not as expected !
I sent ETH to obscure escrow. 200$ misplaced. scammers Not mindful of USDT. Its a really terrible experience.
ah regarding the escrow scam is there any more information for us to know together ,on where did you get that's escrow ? so that no one gets stuck for the umpteenth time ! you shouldn't believe in that obscure service if there are no references from many good people

Being scammed is a bad experience itself. You run advert for bounty organisation but promises not kept and I believe it is the general experience of many hunters.

My most noticeably awful involvement was Not exit at the proper time. there was a ICO it gave me 10X. (6500USD) but i did not exit at the proper time so it went for 400usd.

I want to know how this happened. You got units of the coin distributed to you but what exchange did it list on or is it just one exchange it went to before it crashed ?
Some exchange are known for shit projects and therefore they will accept such project being listed into them? If it was listed in reputable project may be it can rise again if it has active community that can keep pumping it.

Worst experience from my side are
- Liquidation: I lost many Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency because of liquidation
- Invested too much in altcoins and believe they can go to the Moon.
- Shaked out my hands in bear market with good altcoins and saw them go to the Moon from 2020 to 2021
- Did not exit with shit altcoins in 2018 and 2019. Now most of them are dead and even can not recover in bull market.

It's sad to read experiences like this . Though it's hard to understand what the OP has said, the majority is somewhat understandable, and sometimes you would get unexpected things to happen to you if you are not prepared. It's like understanding everything in the world and trying to predict the impossible, which will lead to total loss of something that can be money or dignity or something.

In this kind of thread, I doubt it could help newbies. Maybe a detailed instruction and steps undertaken during the worst experience you got would help—not just saying that you experienced this or that, etc.

That's happening in my life, i have experienced selling a lot of my hidden gems at the wrong time. That gives me loss more than 500k USD unrealized profit. I have sold them all too early and after a few months, the price went so crazy. I can even mention some tokens like AXS, MANA, HEX, and many more. I have ever bought lots of them in the past but i was doing the wrong thing by not becoming a diamond hand lol. that's my biggest fault in my life. I could buy a Lambo with it but it seems like that i have to need to wait even longer than before to achieve my first lambo. So many people have experienced selling it a wrong time. It's not only you but a lot of people in my environment who were also doing it. I have learned a lot from my past experience and i have been diversifying my portfolios for both long term and short term investment. Lesson learned and hidden gem needs a diamond hand.

If I read your story, it seems you are greedy not to take profit at the right time but still hold your coins and hope that the coin will still increase. I think that happens to many of us in the market rally, and I am sure that many of us have the same experience, including myself.

With that experience, I think you should learn that take profit will be needed, especially when the price can soar to the high price so you can make the biggest profit and leave the market. We can not always hope the price will increase because we already know that the market can go down anytime. So before the market goes down, we already take profit at the top price.

Man, I am a having a hard time reading your post...hope you can make it more smooth and fluent by using correct English grammar. But anyway, I got what you mean. And the worst experience for me while being in this industry is being scammed over and over again. Aside from that, selling my Bitcoin when it was at the dip was another badly memorable one. Just recently, supporting play-to-earn platforms that went down in value...losing the BNB I kept for months.

I have no worst experience in crypto as my boss was very active person and i worked with him in nice way. But i was careful every moment and every transaction also so that i can't put wrong address or give token in wrong chain. Actually practical experience is main thing in this field and have to be careful in every second time. You will succeed.
