Hey no worries, I just misread your post is all. Glad you shared you shared your find though, so don't feel bad. Most posts here in this sub-forum are people who have ideas for projects or have already started a project and want to share their work.

That is pretty cool... not only that, but it works too.  Well done, so you created this on your own too? Looks like you got a lot of press and attention on it.  You're right, far easier than zip code and such.

i am kind of flattered that you could imagine i did this. but i´m not an IT guy, i just found this at some website and i thought it was nice. probably i did post it in the wrong section of the forum? is this a section where coders show what they did? if this is so, i want to excuse me for giving the impression that this was my work. i did not know where to post it elsewhere.  Smiley

Wow this is crazy.

I wonder what it would take to get this adopted!! It would be much easier to purchase a parcel and have it posted to this simpfied address. I see my current Post Office 'address' has a few allocations of the 3m X 3m addresses.

How could this be tested in the real world, how could you move forward with testing adoption?

wrap your head around this:

http://what3words.com/

try it out, it is fun:

https://map.what3words.com/

pro: if bitcoin is supposed to include all the billions of unbanked and underbanked people in the future, to let them participate in the world economy, not all of them will be digital content or digital service providers. some of them may just want to sell local stuff. real stuff like fair-trade coffee for example. they would need to use the postal system with all those strange/complicated adress systems of today. a cool what3words adress like

ship.remove.bend

sounds a lot more fun than:  xyz ltd, 5747 troyer ave, memphis, tn 38190, u.s.a.

(i picked this adress randomly)

contra: of course disclosing your real world gps data is the complete opposite than anonymity. please do not post your personal what3words in here..., not even just for fun.

the legacy postal adress system is really akward, old, inefficent when there are no real streetsetc. to me it feels something like this would fit nice into real life bitcoin economy.
what do you think?
