It jsut a free coins, airdpops similar with bounty, but with airddrops you need nothing to do to get coins, usually you just need send your ETH address. With bounty you can get more coins, but you need to some work for it.

It looks very strange that someone who is in cryptos and on bitcointalk has absolutely no idea about what an airdrop is - 1 minute research (less than the time for posting on forum) will clear the mystery.

Well, they usually take only a minute or so to sign up for. Even if they're only worth a total of $10 it's still more money than you'd get from scrolling through your Facebook Newsfeed.

airdrop doesn't waste your time, it is free money, sometimes you could be regret for not participating on the airdrop. Sometimes the airdrop could give the money a lot of the unexpected. Although most also sometimes just be trash.

Airdrops are basically given away coins for free, just to create speculation. I see it as new form of advertisement. Most of airdrop coins are going to die eventually. I don't see hope for them.
but i noticed that many member from bitcointalk like (  s.member and  Hero Member ) interested for airdrop
so ??

1. Freebie, everybody love freebie.
2. This is not the most useless free time.
3.  Everyone knows stories about trash coins that have risen sharply in price

It just waste your time but if you are getting notice by the airdrop in your email and did you participate in the airdrop? it seems like you are. That was just useless token. Just look at the etherdelta and a lot of eshit tokens already listed on there. This was pretty strange to see token with nothing got listed in there.

Well, airdrop is like a coin give away or a bounty. You just need to complete a very simple task in order for you to get the coin.
But beware, some of the airdrops is just a fishing site that hack your account.

Actually it is not waste of time. It takes just one minute to participate in airdrops and if you receive coins worth nothing it does not important at all.

c'mon OP. Do you know how to use search?
There already is a topic about. With almost the same heading  https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/what-is-airdrop-2170395

BTT: I like this reply:

Giveaway - a donation to any warm body who may or may not ask for it (ex: Authorship, Masternodecoin, HOWL)
Airdrop - giveaway of one asset to owners of a separate asset (ex: CLAMs)
Sharedrop - airdrop in proportion to the amount of a separate asset (ex: OmiseGo, Byteball, Bitcore)
Sigdrop - signature campaign giveaway (ex: DeepOnion)

BCH is not an airdrop, it's a fork.

All new coins should do airdrops (and sigdrops too if the coin doesn't have big whales behind it), even if they are smallish (like OMG).  Airdrops increase distribution, instantly creates allies, and the airdropees will start pumping your coin.  Most legit airdrops are sharedrops.  The easiest coins to airdrop on right now are Ethereum and Waves (bitcoin does not have a native colored coin like Ethereum does with the ERC20 token, so to get a bitcoin sharedrop you have to sign a message typically).

Most giveaways are garbage.  However there are diamonds in the rough: NEM, Decred, and Ripple giveaways turned out to be huge.  One problem with giveaways is transparency--how do we know that the devs didn't create a bunch of sockpuppet accounts?  NEM has been accused of having many sockpuppet accounts in its giveaway.

Airdrops are free coins that you receive as free after filling required details in a given form by Dev. Airdrops or giveaways are basically used for marketing tactics. In most of the Airdrops required Ethereum (ECR20) supported wallet to receive free airdrops or free coins. Its not a waste of time recently I receive Ebtc 2457 free coins  that I sold in 4 Ethereum & cashed out. Important thing is you must receive the opoporunity at the right time & sold as well at the right time.

When describing airdrops it is like a plane (Developer) that covers a lot of coins in the air.
And what it will fall will get us. free food from the plane. It's like an air drop in altcoins giving them a free of coins.

something that drops from air (sky)! as in free money, giveaway!

there are new altcoins coming out every day, most of which are useless projects that can never get any attention any other way. so they give some free amounts away so that they can gain some attention. free advertising if you will.

and yes most of them are a waste of time because you have to bend over backwards to receive something like 1000 satoshi worth of that altcoin which is declining every minute!
