Can 5850s really go to 375?  The stock was like 250 so that's a pretty huge increase.

Yeah maybe 350 or 325 not sure.
umad?

oh, and 5850 aren't that expensive. I can get one for $200, new, shipped, after rebate.

As the question in the topic..

168$ 5830 or 226$ 5850

I know they are expensive but this is the prices in my country..

What should I buy?
Thank you

$168 for a 5830?  I bought a lot of them from Newegg for $110 shipped.

And they are sold out now, and more expensive through other routes such as ebay.

Yha but I leave in a different country and I know I'm going to overclock them..
So I prefer having the warranty in my own country

The 5830s are a bit better initial $/Mhash, but the 5850s have better W/MHash, which translates into better long-term $/Mhash.
The 5850s will also give you better Mhash/rig, so less overhead costs for remaining components if you plan to build multiple rigs.

Expensive one is better for longer time, cheaper one is more safer.
