crypto market is likely to became more sustainable and self-regulated than 2017 when a lot of ico scams were arised and got money for nothing... i think defi concept is more healthy and transparent, so i prefer to invest in credible defi and dex projects ahead

I hope they'll stay for good, unlike the ICO which helps to make this market grow bigger but eventually it disappear due to lots of complains from people who got scammed. The De-Fi hype is still here and that is a good thing, but let's see if it will still survive once the market will undergo another long bear run.
We need a lot of tweaking and making sure it works type of things for defi, right now they are properly working in the technical sense but it is not really awesome for the cost sense. I have seen changing eth to usdt at 35 dollars yesterday, yes THIRTY FIVE DOLLARS just to change my eth to usdt (or maybe usdt to eth can't remember but same logic). Do you really think that those type of swaps are possible? Sure if you have 10k worth of unimportant token you do not want anymore you sure will sell it, but we are talking about usdt-eth here, and it shouldn't be 35 dollars, that is unreal.

With defi projects having such a problem with the gas fee, I think it is going to be a long time until we can see the maximum potential of what they can become, if it goes down under 1 dollar one day, we are going to see defi skyrocket and everyone switching over to DEX as well.

I feel also that this year the new project is lesser than one year ago.
Maybe, investor invest in the defi projects, now. Because the hype projects in this year is defi projects. The defi project can give 10x ROI.
After all market depends on top crypto on crypto market. Basically most of the project are defending on the price of bitcoin and ethereum directly or indirectly. Green sign of bitcoin and ethereum is positive side of most of the project.
Indeed. Most altcoins mostly depends at the price of bitcoin because it is the leading cryptocurrency in the market and altcoins are typically measured in the price of bitcoin that makes them tied. So whenever bitcoin increases its price, altcoins will go up, and when it decreases, altcoins will go down as well.

Doesn't matter if investors are going into Defi, I hate to say this but this could be another avenue for them to create a pump and dump and once they are done, they will simply shift to bitcoin and that has been proven many times already.

Market now looks green, ~$11,700, another good indication that the price decline further as investors keeps pouring in, from $11,400-$11,700, not bad pump for a day.

It's exactly what will happen with some defi projects. It's proven many times as you said, after pump and dump some projects will just be abandoned by the team and supporters. Hype that we see around entire defi sector is the same hype we saw before, and we know what happen after hype ends.
Market looks good for weeks, and I'm thinking about how will it end?! I'm not sure should I start selling and to wait for a dip, or to wait a bit longer, maybe the price can rise a bit more before we see some decline.

We have seen a lot of changes in the crypto market recently, not in terms of pricing but rather in terms of projects as we have seen much lesser new projects this year compared to last two years. Is it because scam projects cannot scam people and they quit or else there are no investor's to start new projects?

Maybe we can relate that to scams that are happening.

In the past there are a lot of projects emerging, a lot of altcoins going in and out the markets and then the it just slowly went slow. Maybe because of the scams that are happening or maybe just because investors lost interest to it. Some of the people I usually ask for good projects are doing other stuffs now and not really focussed on trading and just investing other cryptocurrencies and holding some good ones.

Stuck in an upper range at present, Im unclear if this is bullish and it will continue upwards similarly.    Cant really say its negative especially, just repeating itself or idle in some way.

If perhaps the highest prices decline in some way that could develop into something but thats not strong significance is my take so far.   Sell high and buy low till that stops working and take no opinion in the fight might be where the profit is, I wish I was more mercenary at times like this.

Honestly I do not feel that greed anymore, I do not invest into those smaller projects or even new ones, I do not invest into stuff that are small and not really cared in the crypto world as much, if it is so good let it be ranked accordingly, do not tell me the 76th ranked coin is "so great that one day it will be higher than bitcoin" because I will not believe it, if it is so good why is it 76th coin and not higher.

So, for the past year or so I have been heavily investing into gold, bitcoin, ethereum and that is about it, I think I have been doing the best period of my life in investment situation when you consider how much I made and that happened during a pandemic situation where everyone was losing money and every economic indicator was looking terrible yet here I was making profit. So I will not change that anytime soon.

The fact that there are many projects that are turned to be a scam within the past 2 years is the reason why investors are thinking twice right now in investing thus, the success rate of new projects really declined.

Scam projects are everywhere but it will still be useless if there will be no investors that will invest in their project. Investors right now are more knowledgeable when it comes to investing in new projects unlike 2 years ago where there are many new projects coming and investors aren't that knowledgeable at that time.

These also affected those projects that doesn't have an intention to scam investors. Successful projects right now are rare.

The space is getting attractive but I look to 6-9 months from now when some profits are back in traders pocket, they will dare to invest thousands of dollars again, bounty participants will also put few coin in new projects, some account in the forum will also be responding to hypes. The profit at the moment is still minimal and risk is more for bitcoin than altcoins. The dimension is changing to have sustainable space but we cant rule out the parabolic.

Look exciting to watch out, as the market is showing a good sign of incoming bull run,
the level of interest coming from newcomers are growing.

There are institutional investors and new businesses who adopt the system and start accepting cryptos.

We do expect more, the chance that pandemic crisis brings more people's interest not
just for the usage but also with the investment features of
this industry.

People are much aware about the project where they will invest or not. They are able to identify the real and scam project as well. Obviously people will invest if they find good potential project. Otherwise there is no benefit to invest on every project.
This is true that people are already aware of the project and even more becomes wiser before investing in a project. Since a lot of scam surrounds in crypto industry it brought a lessons to them whether will invest or not. It is our due diligence prior investing is to verify if it's legit so we can avoid minimal risks and losing money in this industry. Some project are promising with potential and some are not so we have to be more careful in choosing one.
Learning means a lot in today's situation. Nothing has to be a victim of scam if we don't let that thing to happen. It finds more tricky the market today as many attractive promises that are worthless but can't deny that many were still been fooled with this.

Even though we spread awareness to the forum, into the community but sometimes it was just useless.
"I was scam, they scammed me" a bunch of complaint to heard but they aren't still learning. They obviously greedy people who can be easy to trick and listen to this broken promises.

I think both, there was a time majority of projects looks scam and there was a time there were a lot of good projects but there were few  investors to support those projects, scammers keeps going on but good projects are very rare and it's hard to find out if the project is good or not.
People will be interested only if the market is showing good signs to make profits that is why we can see few investors only even when the project is good. And its just the investment right so people will run towards that trend but the investors who analyse the market when everyone is not interested that is the way to get more profits.

You must have a good project to stand out, scaming has been reduced greatly unless those that cannot make a little research before investing.

Only those who are greed to didn't pay attentions with researching before investing will fall to this scam projects.
Many of us have greed when we see that the project looks interesting to invest, so we only follow from what other people say without research if that project is really good or not. The market still making the good move as I see that the market still up and down so far, so we might see another increase for many coins this month. Hopefully, this month can be better than the last month, so we can back to make a profit again, and if the market can rise more than now, bitcoin price will have a chance to break the high price.

not many but each of everyone of us has their own kind of greed and that greed wont be same or not all are greedy when it comes to money .

here on forum majority of people here can tell or will tell if the project is a scam or not and so chances of you getting scammed is small if you do follow them and if you dont follow your own greedy self . market now is better than previous months , thats the reason why scam projects are getting lowered
I hope that the scam project will reduce, and the market is getting better, so people can get better results for their investment. But I still worry about the project because the scam project will still try to get the new victims to steal their money. But still, if the market does not break the high price and doesn't move like now, I think that the chance to see the lower price will still be there. So we need to be careful and always prepare for anything that can happen to the market.

I'm looking for a top, I might be wrong but there's nothing incorrect about looking and considering the alternate views in the midst of an obviously more positive market now in August then we had in march.   Just like in March it paid off well to be an optimist and at least consider the possible reversal and true enough, the panic was incorrect.   That's a broad view but my simple take is 1 hour bars with just the idea of greater volume for the red bar then the green and the obvious latent hopes of speculators that we drift up simply with momentum and gravity aiding us somehow, markets often dont give simple gains.    I think profit taking can occur and its quite reasonable to enter a short at first near term then look to close or hold it depending on how longer term is developing in the bigger picture.

We're not seeing any news at present to go with this rise, just a speculative wave of interest that might take us higher or not.   There seems to be a very good chance of it but I wouldnt rely on it especially as certain until the trend is in place, this is still the scaffolding part where must disassemble the remnants of previous volume trend that represents volume for the market to deal with.
We can't state it as a speculative wave of growth. If the ongoing market changes were based on speculation now this could've fallen low, but the market stands high compared to rest of the markets. Even in this pandemic cryptocurrency is the only thing that is on the growing path. The price too have crossed $11000, making it a perfect growth which is been expected months back itself.

Yeah and it is not as easy as earlier when just any ICO or IEO would come into the market and raise hundreds of thousands of bitcoins from innocent investors by just creating an ANN here in the forum, making a decent website and just randomly picked team. Now investors are way more smarter and they would not invest a single dollar until they verify the team and their experience, their past projects and their current development.

All been said there are still numerous ICOs and airdrops coming into the market though and they find investors somehow by luring them into high profit promises and next level developments.

With respect to bitcoin market, right now we are into stronger bullish rally as per the dream of many people here. I believe we are heading toward $15k levels in short-term and by this year-end we must need to get ready for experiencing a new ATH.

I see a very massive upward set up any moment from this week and bitcoin might test $14,000 again. A break above $10,000 and remain above there throughout this week is needed in other to bring big buyers into the market.

If this rise will continue and new barriers will take place more and more investors will start bringing new money to keep this high.

The lesser amount of projects might have something to do with the pandemic because almost no one wants to start a new project since they cannot do any meetings or gather together to promote or discuss their project publicly.

It also has to do with the amount of scam projects coming up, investors are now hesitant to invest anything in genuine projects as well and the whole altcoin market is completely bullshit now.

I am honestly happy that there are lesser ICOs and hopefully the golden days of altcoins will be back soon with lesser projects being thrown into the market.

A very welcome bitcoin bull season, how long may it last?
Looks like investors are moving their profit made with altcoins to the king bitcoin again. The market looks very optimistic about bitcoin right now. I'm really impressed bitcoin is showing all its potential during a terrible pandemic which is leading world economies down and during a defi hype.
The king of crypto currency universe is definitely going to rule for a long time yet!

If we could have something like last year where the price just skyrockets that would be super sweet, we really need the price to actually go to 14-15k levels so that we could try to not just go up but also hold instead of trying to just go up. At 15k level I am fine with bitcoin staying there for a while, I just hate it when the price goes above 10k and below 10k and it does this like a hundred times in the past 3 years.

I am sick and tired of bitcoin price not being able to go above 10k too much (in time not in price) and goes down under 10k once again after failing to stay. This time around I want it to go around 15k levels (anything over 13k works) and I want it to stay there, at least 6 months, hopefully a year. If it can stay that way for a year that means we will probably not go down under 10k any more this frequently.

You are a typical bounty hunter so i believe that you already knew whats the answer  for this right?

and also there are no reason why new project will pop up since all the legit project is already existing so more or less new projects will be copy paste  project?

Stop looking for new project and  instead support old successful projects.

If this scheme will continue, it absolutely will affect the trust of the investors and so much it reflects the price development. We don't like to see this but too sad to know the fact that scammers, fake project developers, and other ways of scamming will likely not stop. That is why, from time to time we can still see these projects around and hearing people being scammed.
what you dont like to see ? he was talking on the growth on the price and not on the possibility of it going to decrease . growth on the price arent the only one that changed the view of the people but its much more when the price decrease  . also we are talking about btc here not fake and scammed projects but your still right that scam and fake projects wont go away and they are also the reason why investors view on cryptos including on btc is changing .

They are a big burden on crypto industries and not surprise with those people telling that this things rotating here are scams since we literally know that scamming is so rampant on cryptocurrency, maybe this side needs regulation or anything can control so that we can gain a big trust from those investors who looks for good opportunity in bitcoins industry. But this thing will never happen and the spread will slow up due to this guys who always scam new people in the industry.

The price movement will show the same and we have nothing to do with that. What we are talking about is how these new projects will show some potentials out from realistic scamming issues that we usually heard. For numbers of crypto projects created every day, it was to wonder that all of them will succeed, instead, most of them will fail.

If this scheme will continue, it absolutely will affect the trust of the investors and so much it reflects the price development. ~snip~

Or maybe we just stay away from all the news and just rely on our own judgement and long term plans? I mean, why are we always going to be influenced by news, more knowledge, from who? Guys who of course want us to do the things that will help them in the long run. That's the true understanding of free lunches, that no one does it for our benefit.

Staying away from all the news and the offers can be a solution for people who are afraid of not getting the right news. We can stick to our long-term plans, which can help us not worry about the fluctuating price at the market. But we might lose the chance to make a profit from the fluctuating of the market. We need to realize that everything that we will decide have a risk, and if we can deal with the risk, we will have the chance to make a profit from other ways. We can see that no one will help us to get what we want except ourselves.

Is it because scam projects cannot scam people and they quit or else there are no investor's to start new projects?

If there's no investors who will become attracted with those new projects, scam won't happen anymore. The lessons that we learned made us stronger and more wiser this time, and we can't afford to be their victim all over again. We must stand on our own decisions to don't entertain those promises.

News do play a role in the crypto trade business, of course it doesn't always have to be a good role, but it doesn't have to be a bad role neither, it depends on you to decide if it is good or not. What you can consider good or bad would be actually to calculate the news and see if it is a true fact or an opinion piece, there are a lot of confusion between those things.
But almost all the bad news about crypro, for example the case of hacking exchange will cause the price of bitcoin to dump. A quick response from bitcoin holder who have large amount of bitcoin to bad news by selling part or all of their asset will cause panic for day trader and this situation will only worsen market condition. Although bitcoin is not regulated by anyone, it often happen that large investor (whales) will influence the market and that is very often expressed by many trader and forum user.

This market is highly reactive to fuds and shills that why its no surprise that when a certain news do pops out, neither positive or negative it might really give out significant effect.

Lets take for example on what happened on  recent past few hours where btc did able to rise up or reach 10k price. Whats the reason?   no one knows yet there are no news or events

reason for it to rise. This is one of the hardest part on where price can move its own and we know that whales is one of the  possible reason too.

For example, when you read something like "does taxes lowering affecting bitcoin?" you may think it is a fact piece, you can read inside and see that it is just some person questioning it and making some points on how it could be, but just an assumption, on the other hand "may 10th will be halving" type of news is actually fact news and that is what you should care about, not the other ones that just gives their thoughts about things.

That is why we need to get the updated news about their way so that we can prevent getting scammed by them. It is hard, but it's worth doing because if we don't get more knowledge, we will be the next target and have a chance to get our money. Besides that, we need to be careful, especially if we read some information about getting free giveaways because right now, there is no free lunch for us. We need to do something if we want to make money and don't get in their trap easily because the scammers will use any ways to trick us.

Or maybe we just stay away from all the news and just rely on our own judgement and long term plans? I mean, why are we always going to be influenced by news, more knowledge, from who? Guys who of course want us to do the things that will help them in the long run. That's the true understanding of free lunches, that no one does it for our benefit.

hopefully what you say may come true, at least the scam project has begun to be ignored by investors for not supporting it. because clearly all this time the makers of scam projects have been at a very critical level to get rid of, because it makes the crypto market also very lackluster because there are no good new projects that can succeed well.

but if you look at the reality that I have followed so far on new projects, it seems that there are still those who are still doing that by leaving the project already in the market and not just striving to develop it, so that ultimately the existing tokens are no longer valuable. something like this is still happening and it seems that there are even those who are trying to extend the project so that there can be investors who want to glance and add more capital. the obvious reason is the coincidence with the corona pandemic being used to be able to extend his time, this act which is not commendable by stalling can certainly ensure another scam will occur.

there must be time to end all actions that are not commendable, must start from the bounty manager not to accept all the projects as long as there is no certainty that the people behind him can be trusted. I have heard that there have been a number of old bounty managers making regulations in order to stop this, we have to support them so that many good projects grow.

Every year scammers became more resourceful since some of their schemes will not work that's why we will see some beautiful changes among their tactics used so its best not to gt hook on any new projects right now and go only with bitcoins since those new projects is not good even if they portrait good to their community, We need to dump them quickly if we have some or just leave those if we think about investing since by this we can discourage scammers if they don't have any victims fall for their traps.

There are times people just invest into bitcoin and just keep it going for a while, sure people are not trading but they are buying, those people are still here, also companies to increase their holdings of crypto as well, this is more of a period where people are just getting ready for the next step, that is about it.

Obviously there will be a period when bitcoin will not be staying at these levels, after all it can't stay here forever, but at that moment we will get to see what people who have invested all that time ago actually planned about when they are doing what they do right now and we will get to see people actually moving to the direction wherever they want and that will either hurt us or help us depending our situation, so I would say careful what is going on now to understand what will happen.

Seem like many investors are afraid to invest in new project due to many project that fell to scam. Also, the culture for the project's token/coin is always like that, was pumped when it was launched and then it was dumped. So as many investors will see it first before they spend money for investing. And the other factor is future market/ perpetual market, there will be many investor who changes their strategy to this way, you just need to use fundamental factor to get 100× profit.

The scam projects can scam people that offer a big prize at the end, such as they will list in the top exchange, always maintain the project to run properly, and the team will always protect the investor asset, etc. Perhaps, the scammers are still searching for the next target, and they will modify the new way to trick people, and they will never stop searching for the new target. The scammers realized that they need to use another method to trick people because right now, many people aware of them, and they know how to avoid the scam.

The amount of scam project that used to pop up every now and then, made it look like there are a lot of projects out there. Probably, those scammers are taking a break? Or maybe people are now aware of those scam projects and they are ignoring them. So, the scammers are making less profit and isn't worth the amount of coins they are making when compared to the amount of tasks they have to do to create a successful scam. Either way, its a good thing. We don't need any more shit projects and people spamming/shilling for those projects.
Actually even there are lots of campaigns present, there are still possibility that they are scam or will not succeed but hopefully those legit will succeed , however it still good that even in Pandemic there are still projects that are trying to developed to make difference in these crisis. They can take advantage this now that people are doing more projects online, they can visibly seen every now and then online through doing commercials in popular social media to gain supporters but better know they are legit since those online users have plenty of time too now to research their legalities and their project throughly.
The sad news is the victims of the scams project nowadays are keep rising and it can be a bad news not only in the cryptocurrency community but in the whole world because there are now a lot of investors that are staying away with crypto because of the bad image which is considered as scam. The projects that are becoming successful nowadays are only few and majority of the projects are scams . It take a lot of time in order to just find a legit projects out there because there are some that looks legit even though it is just a scam.

No, they just rebranded and now calling themselve DeFi projects instead of the usuage they used to scam investors, every project both the legit and scams are moving toward the hype of decentralized finances so instead of new project launching in their numbers, the already existing ones are rebranding to scam already existing patronizers and newly gullible quick money hunters.

Is there money to be made in this hype? Yes of course but you need to think as a trader instead of an investor as most DeFi won't last long as money will be moving from the less popular ones to the popular or new ones. If you can keep up to the speed of the market, It's most advisable to just buy Bitcoin and hold.

The cryptocurrency market is getting widened, but the existence of new projects have decreased. This is good in my opinion, because during the previous year more projects were termed scam. Slowly people have known better about the cryptocurrency projects, and the same has made people avoid scam projects.
This means people have known their lessons having due diligence prior to investing in a project. Many experience of scam projects that's why investors are keen on observing first before putting some money and effort. In terms of crypto market price still, it is volatile.
the victims usually are those newbie investors or those greed one that is being blinded by the lying of each project to bring them high profit ,in which can easily lured those kind of characters.

But if you love your money then  you will not trust this scammers though this is hard to find yet our instinct sometimes tells us which to trust.
There are several allegations on projects in the space but it is been treated silently until the eventualities. The large tokens held by most team will be an issue of contention in coming months, why the large project token when all you are willing to sell is 20%. They gradually unlock the token and dump in the market to fill the available order book so as to hold bitcoin and other pairs..
That is why we must ask to help of investigator and researcher here in forum because they are the one who's skilled in finding this stupid scammers, they can even detect which project are legits or scam.

It is likely to see that project developers are also taking their rest for they have less chance to succeed amidst the pandemic and also the interest of the people to invest. But I'm not considering this a sign that we are close at its ends. The situation is really harsh to see and we all have been affected to living to a thing that creating a new project(s) will likely fail (that is pretty obvious to see).

What is the purpose of all these so-called projects based on a lot of false promises and almost certain loss of money for investors? I think we need to change the paradigm that crypto is something that allows anyone to start a project, without any permission from the regulator and responsibility for the success or failure of the project.

Such an approach only hurts BTC, it turns out that any fool can start a project, scam people for a few million dollars and then disappear - and everyone else pretends like nothing happened.

meh, that's the free market for you. caveat emptor. you don't wanna lose money on a risky investment? don't invest. i prefer that to a nanny state that places excessive burdens on startup companies. i want more anonymity and less red tape in crypto.

what you're talking about isn't particular to crypto either. it's just the natural cycle of technology-based startups.

Quote
Peak of Inflated Expectations: Early publicity produces a number of success stories — often accompanied by scores of failures. Some companies take action; many do not.

Trough of Disillusionment: Interest wanes as experiments and implementations fail to deliver. Producers of the technology shake out or fail. Investments continue only if the surviving providers improve their products to the satisfaction of early adopters.

You answered your question, yes that is because they can't scam anymore, things have change, project are not anymore done in ICO, it's done in IEO and there are already a lot of exchanges that are mark with bad reputation, so even if a certain project launch an IEO, it still would not succeed if it's done in a bad exchange, for them to have a better success rate, they need to have the funds to pay for good exchanges like Binance, and not many projects can afford that, so they'll prefer not to try as they would just fail anyway.

Also, people are more matured now, and the market is not bullish yet, that's another factor.

But there are Still victims of thousands of scams in the industry, many of these projects are scam projects at first sight. Though, scam projects has minimize that very few are not victims of these scams compared to the past. Cryptocurrency enthusiasts and potential investors are now understanding the difference between the real projects and the fake projects. People now research into a particular project before making investment with so called project which is a plus.

I guess the main reason is those numerous scams happening during ICO/IEO and now we had project defi but it takes time for the investors to make a study about these projects. Because the mark of being scam was in their mind and they don't want to happen again.
It was the 2017 unexpected pump of Bitcoin that encourages a lot of ICO (the real ones) and the scam ICO's.
That was like the rise of the ICO projects as well.
Now, as the bubble in 2017 burst, crypto projects gradually lose their interest to pursue as some investors left after the bubble. Scam isn't the main reason here, but it's the investors who has been discouraged in 2018 market run after believing that Bitcoin/cryptocurrency is the source of lavishness.

Even if they do pursue then its still useless because investors confidence had already gone away due to scams and frauds that did happen in the past this is why its no surprise that people doesnt really easily fund
nor support on todays most projects in result on high rate of failure even if we do talk into those legit projects.

This is not new and been continuing even up to these days but we can somehow still able to see that there are still project owners who do continue to launch and do hope for market support.

In talks of investors side then this is what makes investment even more harder because it does really require much more  research before jumping in.

The only change in the market is in the altcoin market. It seems to me that this is another market cycle that will end with a big dump. If you are in the Bitcoin market then you can understand why the market has changed.

They wanted to know how to create hype in the altcoin market again and they tried but it didn't work out. Now it has become somewhat effective with DeFi. The almost dead Youtube channels have woken up again, and they are screaming about random coins like before. Honestly, most of these Youtubers are scammers! And seeing these different ones, the new traders will buy those coins, the old traders know what will happen next. It's nothing more than a hype to me.

there is an answer to that and the answer is: pandemic.

The pandemic started in January and governments and many people began to take measures against the pandemic, measures ranging from firing employees to lockdown and in this scenario few people think of making long-term investments in a scenario of complete uncertainty, see that even bitcoin that had halving was not enough to make the bitcoin price have a big price increase

I am of the opinion that when have a vaccine and the situation is completely controlled, then bitcoin will start to increase the price a lot

There are still a lot of active scam projects out there, just now less lending and multi-level modeling has become less and less. trending is now altcoin Defi, new projects are coming up a lot and usually projects on the Defi system.
This is understandable because when there is a trend, everyone wants to make money for themselves. That is why many ideas now have many new projects for us to invest. The market is pretty active right now so we can make a lot of money now.

it is THE CYCLE.

you see it is not just bitcoin price going up, ending in a bubble then bubble bursting. it is accompanied by a lot of new members coming in so many of them wanting to become rich over night and a lot of scammers becoming active again creating garbage and selling it to them by telling them things like "this coin is replacing bitcoin". consequently when the bitcoin bubble burst occurs and the market slows down a lot of those newbies go away and many other newbies gain enough experience to not-trust garbage coins anymore. as a result the scammers go into hibernation until another wave of newbies enter.
Correct.. Newbies are the ones that easily falls for scams trap. They only think that crypto is a sure way of financial breakthrough if invested into. Newbies are easily carried away by hyping of  projects which is a bad signals for them
I could remember vividly how I ended up investing on a scammed project as a newbie
The worst thing that can ever happen to an investor is to hope or depend on a particular project for richness

People are very much concerned nowadays as most of the people projects are suppose to be scam, well this has ruined the atmosphere of crypto market as Investors use to think multiple times before Investing.

I really appreciate those people who check multiple times before Investing in a coin especially big Investors, also there are few projects where they pay lesser. However it's better to go according to the market situation.

The cryptocurrency market is getting widened, but the existence of new projects have decreased. This is good in my opinion, because during the previous year more projects were termed scam. Slowly people have known better about the cryptocurrency projects, and the same has made people avoid scam projects.

We have seen a lot of changes in the crypto market recently, not in terms of pricing but rather in terms of projects as we have seen much lesser new projects this year compared to last two years. Is it because scam projects cannot scam people and they quit or else there are no investor's to start new projects?

It's a market lull, no more and no less.

I think the altcoin and token markets are in a very similar place to Q2-Q3 2015. This is especially apparent on charts like DASHBTC. Most likely, altcoins are forming accumulation bottoms vs. BTC during this period.

During times like this, altcoin sentiment leans bearish and not much money is flowing from BTC into altcoins. You will probably see very few new projects due to that dynamic.

Do we need another series of ICOs, new magic altcoins to replace BTC, or so-called cloud mining where some are still getting rich at the expense of naive people?

Investors now know which ones to invest in their latest projects, so this can also affect the crypto market. I am not sure about ICO anymore, even if the IEO in the low market does not guarantee its success in the future, so now is the year. it's better where the projects that come up are few but always come up with new innovations and that can make the crypto market much more interested, of course we will start new ones.

Investors would be less interested now in the ICO as compared to the time when we had huge growth and also good benefits for investors. But after the scam or coins which does not had any value where investors wasted their money resulted in people staying away from such projects. Also, in pandemic times might be people would not be willing to take that amount of risk due to uncertain future which still exists. All this might have hamper some of the projects.

It is also because of the result of the bear market since last few years, the ICO is the best way to conduct a project which a lot of project even non-legit are entering in cryptocurrency just to scam lot of people and make money.
That's why you can see a very few projects are coming, because lots of people already learn their lesson on last few years with lot of different projects.

People and investment companies are now wise. We have lost a lot of money to scam projects and that has really affected us. Since ending of last year we have started seeing less and fewer projects meeting with their shift cap and that makes discouraged those with the aim of scamming other through new projects.

Probably. Or they are thinking of a new way on how to put up new projects for them to scam investors again. As you know, investors today are smart enough to choose a good projects. Unlike before that projects with a very good fake platform attracts investors and do some fund raised to scam them. The way ot used to be from previous years is way different today.

And because a lot of investors already learned their hard lesson from the past years, they are now very cautious with blockchain projects. And I guess it is good on the investors side, because the less scam projects here in crypto, the less number of investors being screwed. I hope only quality projects will proliferate in the market and see the real benefit of blockchain technology.

People still fall for these scam projects today also, it is just that the amount of funds being raised have drastically reduced as compared to the previous years where a below average project could also attract more than $10 million in their ICO fundings and still make a profit for investors as well on just the basis of a promised working project in the future. But nowadays people have changed how they would invest their money, they really want to see a working copy of the project first and only then invest in the project.

it is THE CYCLE.

you see it is not just bitcoin price going up, ending in a bubble then bubble bursting. it is accompanied by a lot of new members coming in so many of them wanting to become rich over night and a lot of scammers becoming active again creating garbage and selling it to them by telling them things like "this coin is replacing bitcoin". consequently when the bitcoin bubble burst occurs and the market slows down a lot of those newbies go away and many other newbies gain enough experience to not-trust garbage coins anymore. as a result the scammers go into hibernation until another wave of newbies enter.

At the moment the world is in controversy for many facts, the Covid-19 is undoubtedly a fundamental that still gives us something to talk about, the projects have also been decreasing due to the regulations and controls that have been implemented. Investors' money prefers to put it on the safe side, in Bitcoin.

However, some nascent projects can be successful when Bitcoin takes its Bullish trend, at the moment the market has a lateralization, which makes it difficult to dive into the projects.

Yeah! I notoce the same thing. Not a good news to be honest but I think it's okay somehow because the market seems more peaceful. I can only think two common reasons why the number of projects are greatly reduced: 1) The market remains sleeping (not booming nor declining, just stabilizing) which means less active investors are circulating, totally not a good season to introduce a new ICO. 2) Due to previous many incidents of scam investments, ponzi schemes, failed ICOs etc., the new as well as the old investors never tried risking their money again. They take a rest on crypto or the worst is they stopped

We can expect a livelier market once bitcoin skyrocket once again. Just like last 2017 Grin.

I don't know how much people are wanting to invest tnow in projects that aren't related to defi or similar. There were a lot of defi projects that seem to have come through or are promising in their development people are focusing on.

It's probably sadly a similar number of legitimate projects as we normally have and just fewer scams or projects have been absorbed by other things. Also I don't know if we have gaps to fill yet in the crypto sector...

Yes, even I have witnessed numerous defi projects in last 6 months and I was really impressed with this project named GEOMA which has a promising whitepaper, but as you have mentioned we still have gaps to fill in the crypto sector wherein we need more diversified projects because right now we see dozens of defi project just like how we used to see payment related projects in the past.

but, as one can notice on coingecko or similar websites, number of listed or followed projects is on the rise, we are now above 7000 and still counting, with daily increase, so i would not say that there is no new projects, rather that they are doing different type of marketing, and bounties on bitcointalk are mostly reserved for scams, with position exclusions, but they are rare, or superrare
I wish all this market chart can remove some projects from there list. A lot of projects had died and are still showing some report. some project no longer have exchanges, if all this coins can be removed maybe the negligent teams can do more to get listed or rather go extinct. Binance is listing so many existing project on their market and it could send a quick message of a positive market sentiment.

You have already answered your own question!. When it comes to number of new projects then its just understandable that there would be less and even to those who do launched even up to these days doesnt really even give out some unique idea and still continuing to use those common platforms or blockchain that we do know.

If you get shocked then better on getting used to it since this is the sad reality for those project where they dont get that much support nor funding due to investors confidence had already been shaken off because of the
incidents do happen in the past where scamming and fraud projects do fly out everywhere.

Im not saying that there would be no chance for legit and potential ones but raising up these days would really be much more a tougher challenge.
