It seems to me that this growth is connected in some way with the news about the hacker attack on April 4. "On April 4, 2018, the BitcoinTalk forum received a message from the administrator of the Suprnova mining pool, known as OCminer, who said that for several days he was trying to raise an" alarm "  "In private, but the developers of the Verge (XVG) crypto currency did not attach any importance to its messages, OCminer decided to publicly announce what was going on. According to OCminer, on April 4, Verge's crypto currency, in the code of which unknown intruders detected bugs, b  The so-called "51% attack" was launched, which means that the attackers have the power "outweighed" the rest of the network, a sort of "controlling stake." OCminer explains that the attack became possible because  Mining of XVG blocks each next block uses a different algorithm (for example, scrypt, x17, then lyra and so on). "
Some people call it not a genuine 51% attack , it's because a bugs that allows someone to mine 1500 verge per second for hours , causing the market get pumped first to dump it hard later.
That's what I heard , so becareful guys who think this is a great opportunity to make an easy money , it could be a boomerang for anyone who get involved at least for now.

According to Cryptowat.ch Verge has spiked over 30% today.

Anyone know what's up with XVG?

An exchange hack/bug?

Something that has somehow managed to evade my radar as I can't find any juicy news about XVG.

Verge suffered from a 51% attack, somebody managed to steal millions of coins and the price spiked?!

I don't know too... IMO people are brainless. I dropped my Verge's and I don't have any plans to continue with those jokers. The 51% was due code error.

Another round of pump & dump?

because of there is no big rise on market. whales earn money like this. pumps and dumps on shit coins.
Strongly stated. Verge (XVG) is not a shit coin, it is in Top25 Big Volume coins list on coinmarketcap.
But in fact, it does not change anything, it's the work of whales

They will be release a new Qt wallet for windows and Mac OS tomorrow, along with their detailed explanation of the mining exploit they dealt with. I think Verge has capability to reach $1-$5 end of this year.

They are supposed to undergo a reconstruction of the entire system this year, maybe because of this and the liquidity in the market of this coin has increased. Because it did not have any news.

I was very sorry that I did not buy myself a XVG portfolio a week ago, and after all it all went now, we missed an excellent flight upstairs and missed 90% of the profit! I must listen to the recommendations of the leading channels, I think

I think the price increase in the given case is caused by the entrance to the market of "big money". The volumes of trades signal us about this.
