If you do some research you realize that lots of modern technology that we use today was driven by the demand from the porn industry. home video cameras, the printing press, pay per view ect.

FB 28.83 USD, 1 BTC 29.00 USD. Now I would not trade 28.83 USD let alone 0.994 BTC for a share of FB since that stock is an extremely poor performer.

Porn has been a major driver of new technologies since the invention of the portable camera.

Go back 15 years and look at bandwidth pricing for example. Without porn driving the prices down on a worldwide scale to todays levels there would be no youtubes, etc.

I find predictable that bitcoin would be used mainly in situations where fiat currency cannot be used because of stupid laws. Prostitution is an honorable profession, and a junkie has every right to go to hell on his own way. Gambling is also a private agreement between the gambler and the house.

So, by being used in gambling, sex and drugs, bitcoins is fulfilling its purpose: to be useful where fiat money is not.

A complete success I should say.
