I don't think there is a safe app to communicate without being tracked by government or ISP-s (well ISP-s can be bypassed by TOR browser but that other risks too). I think Whatsapp , Viber, Instagram, Facebook and all other social medias which have messengers built in are not safe no matter the claims from the like of Whatsapp who says it has "End to End Encryption".

Encrypted emails and anonymous emails which are available on dark net are the only way to communicate securely but as I said that has other risk too, as government agencies are always actively watching and trying to exploit TOR browser.

Is there anything safer than Telegram to talk with fellow investors and developers about the projects we're working on?

Please suggest
None probably, for me personally telegram is the fastest and most convenient way to talk regarding projects in crypto.

A lot of new projects use discord or slack. Personally, I prefer slack because its more professional.

Just buy an anonymous messaging mobile number from LazerSMS and use it to discuss stuff over SMS

That website is notoriously known to be used by darkweb people

If you feel safe being associated with them then good for you

The government knows there are phone messages but can't know who's sending them, basically you hide by not hiding yourself. Nobody would ever care to even look at some random SMS considering there are billions of them and the governments need to know who's the owner of the SIM card to be able to start an investigation.

"Discord", it seems not a bad substitute for telegrams. I liked the ergonomics of the interface. I would like to hear the community's opinion on the security of this messenger.

It's safer but if you want privacy protection then i think we should all opt for the deep web email servers then because no matter the messenger there's definitely going to be  a way for malicious code to steal info unless they are not interested in finding out. Discord, Telegram etc. all have vulnerabilities but looks perfect until they are broken.

Do not trust the government
Telegram is not open source, as far as I know, so their claims are meaningless.
Signal is open source, so I would suggest that.

Email is absolutely not safe, your ISP can read all of it usually or the mail server you are using can.
Email is great if you use PGP encryption, otherwise it is really bad for security on it's own.

Email is not really for chatting however, so an app like Signal that is open source and has end to end encryption that you can verify.

You are wrong, Telegram is one of the most safest channels to discuss about cryptos because no one is tracing your messages.

They are 100% encrypted, a lot of goverments, specially the US tried to compromise Telegram in order to see people's messages, but telegram denied it.

And seriously, email? are you paying attention to what you are writing in there? The emails are the most compromised channel that we have right now.

That is why a lot of people are now using protonmail, because it is descentralized.

Telegram is not a safe channel to discuss Bitcoin and future projects. The safest way would be through email.
If you actually read my post you would see that email means decentralized email because that is the closest to anonymity as it gets when sending messages. I just didn't name a source. ProtonMail is fine.

You need a phone number to use Telegram lol
If you are suggesting that Telegram is the safest chat then you might be right.
