I still think Vericoin , vrc is one of the best alt coins even with all the stuff that has happened to it in the past few weeks... the coin is really cheap right now and I am loading up with as many as I can afford... I am holding them long term...

Right now Litecoin is in a transitional phase that only Bitcoin has only ever seen. The price is low, but come towards the end of 2014 we should see significant price increases (same thing happened to Bitcoin when asics rolled out). Obviously there is a lot more to this than the one sentence statement I wrote so if you want I can elaborate on this.

Which is the best alt coin which isn't just a pump and dump coin?
Really this is something which can not be answered one way. In my opinion most of the coins are shitcoins, no one will accept them as official payment method anywhere. I am sure that lot of people will post their favorite coins they rely on and have mined and hold. Just do not listen and invest in any of them.
BTW the moment is perfect to buy BTC right now, because you will not see the price so cheap may be never again
Arent they all just pump and dumps? I haven't seen any coin that has come out this year that has done anything different apart from some of the 'dark' coins, but even they arent that special imo.
