Currently I have GDAX but that seems to be only for btc eth and ltc.

I have a coinigy account but I don't haer much about people trading on it. I ust use it for charts at the moment.
I want to get into thing like neo quantum and power.
Seems like to use these things there are alot of hops to get my money in and out. I like how on gdax I can sell and get the money directly into my bank account. With these exchanges how many things sit between me and my bank and holding the coin?
Right now to get into these alts it seems like I have to:
Buy eth/btc/ltc on coin base
Move those into gdax
Set up an API to get those funds into an exchange (haven't set this up yet)
Buy the coins on the exchange with btc/eth/ltc
This seems horribly inefficient and at each step there is a fee or something that eats away the money.
What is the best way to do this?
