After packing a few good altcoins for the long term I'm finally thinking of having one or two privacy coins in my portfolio, I think I should start with Monero since its the most popular privacy coin but I need information about the best wallet for this privacy coin, I know monero have GUI wallet but I don't want to since the whole blockchain data as data is costly in my country..
On the site, each coin has a list of supported wallets.
https://www.getmonero.org/downloads/
I would recommend you
https://shop.ledger.com/pages/ledger-nano-s-plus
unless you are using mobile apps.
or this one with maximum functionality

I found and download Cake wallet, its a good BTC, ETH and XMR wallet and its just as good as the Electrum wallet, if one don't have the money for a hardware wallet right now cake wallet is your best alternative I think?.

That's mobile wallet and that's quite different when you are comparing it with electrum as mobile wallet have weak security compared with the desktop wallet or even hardware wallet. You have various desktop wallet to be your alternative wallet and in my experience if monero was the best desktop wallet for your monero. Im also using this wallet to store stable token, btc and ethereum and this is having a very good security measures to ensure your monero will be safe in the safeplace.
So far. exodus wallet never had any problem and im also never facing a problem with this wallet. This wallet is good to be alternative wallet

Years ago no crypto wallet supports monero unless you use its GUI wallet or web wallet, I was so mad with this in 2018 because I dont have a computer and I wanted to store many XMR that I was mining but I end up giving up until 2019 when coinomi wallet started supporting monero, I'm sure they still do till date.

Isn't this a cell mobile wallet?
Mobile wallets are also safe for storing your long-term coins. For someone who can't afford a hardware wallet yet, a mobile wallet is the best alternative for storing our cryptocurrencies. The most important thing is to store the seed phrase properly and don't let it leak.

Continue to use a mobile wallet, as it is safer than storing your coins on an exchange.

is not it better if you are storing your asset in the hardware wallet instead of GUI wallet? I know that if there are so many wallets but i were using ledger and exodus. in my opinion that if exodus was the best even if you can combine it with the trezor. Im using both and so far so good. This is based on my personal experience with the product. I just wanna say about the fact that if exodus was the best one to store your monero.

The two known hardware wallets are the best wallets for you to keep Monero. It is a Ledger wallet (S+, S, or X) or a Trezor wallet.

They both support Monero's wallet as indicated on those pages on how to access it.

OP, this does not belong in "Beginners & Help". I suggest you move this topic to the Altcoins board.

Try Feather Wallet instead, it is lightweight, it uses Tor by default for enhanced privacy, and it has a user friendly and snappy user interface, way better than the GUI wallet, still you need to download the data I think its safer to do this than using mobile wallets.
