I would like to make a profit ($10 a month is fine Smiley). With ASIC coming out now, would anyone be trying to sell old hardware? My current GPU is a 6yr old NVidia that can't do much to begin with much less mine. Old hardware might not be as profitable, but it'd be a place to start.

Most will tell you to buy an asic. The catch is, asic is very close to a yeti Smiley, you might go to Nepal and see it, but most likely you will only spend the money on the vacation. Jokes aside, you are indeed a little late for a serious gpu mining, and while it is nicely profitable right at this moment, we are not sure what will happen.

With the current oscilation in btc price (yesterday 34-49), you are better of in trying your luck in buying cheap, and selling expensive. That is at least the way I would take if I started now.

All paid signature campaigns should be banned.
Why do you want to mine?

Starting to mine at this point is probably not a good idea in terms of profit.  If you are mining for other reasons then maybe.
