The most important thing for me in an altcoin is:

1.
I need to know who the developer/creator is.
An anonymous dev is for me a big no go.
99.9% of the time when the dev is anonymous the coin is just being used as a scam or a pump and dump coin.
There is only one coin that I have and I do not know who the creator is and that is Bitcoin.  Huh

2.
I must be able to spend the coins in online shops or offline shops and the things that I buy must not be limited.
So I want to be able to buy food, clothes, gifts, gold etc with my altcoin

3.
The community, there must be a big community behind the coin that is active and is putting effort in the coin.
When there is an altcoin and I see only the dev is coming with ideas and the community just stands on the sideline it is a no go.

4.
Development, the coin must on the frontline in regards to development. I must see that the devteam is actively busy with keeping the coin up to date.

That being said that leaves me personally only with 2 coins: Guldencoin and Digibyte  Cool  Shocked

1.1 The devs/creator of Guldencoin are Rijk and with Digibyte Jared, you can search them on linkedin or just search the name of the coin on youtube and see them talking about the coin
2.2 For Guldencoin you can check the timeline of what they have achieved and what you can buy: http://timeline.guldencoin.com/
With Digibyte currently they are busy with adaption of a whole citycenter to accept digibyte as payment. (Check out the newsarticle on their bitcointalk)
3.3 Both communities are active as you can see here on bitcointalk and they take the iniative to pro-active go to merchants and develop tools for their coin.
4.4 Digispeed, Delta, Nocks etc etc

Do not just trust me on my words, investigate these 2 coins yourself  Kiss

In the altcoin market you have to live by the 10 - 90 rule. 90% of the people here want your btc, 10% believe in other coins. Guldencoin is going to be a success no matter what the scammers and cartels on this cesspit called the altcoin section tell you.
Digibyte also seems interesting but they have a lot of coins.

For a short period of time I was interested in dogecoin because I had a very good contract in cloud mining which produced dogecoin. This contract was very profitable since the owners of the site (as happen almost always in such occasions) stopped to pay and then degenerated all the business. The end was as normally: They taken all the money and disappeared. The name of the site was cointellect. May spend all the money stolen in medicine.  Wink

GetGems - More for it's application than it's features. I think the mobile market has a bigger market and potential for micro payments and for this reason, I think it can go somewhere in the future.

Not Mineable so it's not Premined and less likely to be a ScamCoin. I have to say I am not a big fan of any other Alt coins, because I have burnt my finger on many of them, so my views on this is probably biased.

The Alt coin that most probably will make it, would be Ripple... It's backed by banks and adhere to AML/KYC regulations.  Roll Eyes

Monero is makes me interested.
Also i like Hyper, because they based on game currency.
Still looking other interesting altcoin.

Ethereum . From Smart contracts to tons of more features I feel it is the best altcoin. Also saw some VPN coin recently and some Gold backed coin and thought those were cool ideas too. I have use Ethereum and had invested big in the ICO . Happy to see it paid off.

Really? http://cointelegraph.com/news/115104/ether-dump-price-falls-back-to-earth-as-trading-floors-open
I haven't traded my Ethere much recently but when it launched I sold mine and price was around 3 times the ICO price. So didn't complain. But a price shouldn't let you consider a coin to be not worth it. With developments coming in it would again rice soon .

DRK coin has been another cool feature specially because it allows you to remain anonymous completely which is one thing bitcoin doesn't offer without using any other service.

only those altcoin that have anonimity, fully anonimity, interest me, but i prefer if in the future this is integrated in bitcoin too, maybe not directly, but via sidechain or something else

i'm looking forward for now for zerocoin and darkwallet, another altcoin that interested me in the past was cryptonite with its mini-blockchain feature

the problem is that they seems all died now, so no matter what they offer if it can not be used...

most of the altcoins are just fancy not interesting at least I find them that way. so I haven't found any altcoin that interests me that much, just enough to trade them for profit. that's all..
