Hackers please hack me .... if you can :)
Mining Bitcoin with Antminer S1/S3 is like trying to run Mafia III on a Celeron from 2010 with Integrated Graphics. The game maybe will start, but you'll not be able to play...

Yes , nowadays mining Bitcoin with an Antminer S1 or S3 is not profitable even if you have free electricity (you will mine very little bitcoin now with increased difficulty).
Nowadays people use S7 antminer which is the normal one now and it is not profitable if you don't have free or very cheap electricity.

The only Antminer which can mine coin for you nowadays is the S9 just released not long ago. This is the best miner to mine bitcoins now.

If you are asking about an altcoin there are quite some that are profitable via GPU mining. Just have a more thorough look at this section of the forum.

Did I wake up and its 2014 ?

Bitcoin.

That's good to hear, what I'm doing, I don't mind it because of being a part of it and the heat is nice
this time of year.  I just wonder about it.  It's as if a lack of a community adoption of a new altcoin is the thing
holding most of the good ones back from being very valuable.  If they were more valuable, the tech is there
to make mining more profitable.

What is the most profitable coin to mine today with an Antminer S1/S3?  There seems to be a large price division between an Antminer S1/S3 and the next rung up.  This of course could apply to similar age technology of other brands.

As someone said in another post, miners should come together make sure mining stays profitable for
(mid-size individual) miners (that seemed to be his gist).  Seems BTC was created from the ground up
like this, and many other coins have been very profitable as well, does it seem within possibility that
mining could always be profitable for early adopters, infrastructure creators, marketplace builders and so on?
