In my views, I don't think people would donate their btc nowadays since this is a valuable coin that may shoot up one day at a very promising increase. People would perhaps be donating altcoins instead of btc since altcoins had only a very slow growth compared to btc that they can just easily spend.

these days people have a lot of useless shitcoins in their wallets like ethereum so they can throw them away much easier than throwing away the valuable bitcoin that is why they donate ethereum, dogecoin,... more than they donate bitcoin. they want to keep the valuable and give away the useless Wink

i think because bitcoin is more suitable for investment than for donations
rather than donating people prefer to hold their bitcoin
so i think it's better to donate using other altcoins because the altcoin price is more stable
because we believe in the future of bitcoin

While it's not about cryptocurrency/cryptography project, https://pineapplefund.org/ is one of the most famous donation/charity which use Bitcoin.

Besides, there's nothing to lose by accepting Bitcoin donation even if barely any people who would do it.

there is

by accepting altcoin donations they give value to the altcoins,

i have seen so far some websites that take ETH and Waves donations but not bitcoin since they dont get any bitcoin donations anymore like it was more likely in the past

donations, even if you ignore the currency type. is a flawed income generation model.

even these mainstream news sites try to avoid putting up a 'paywall' but then do a donate request. they dont get much and thats from a national fiat currency.
donations of bitcoin in the past were much higher. but that was in the time where people didnt think it would surpass $20. now people are afraid to donate and even afraid to spend bitcoin because they feel if they donate/buy coffee this year, they could have used that exact amount of satoshis to 'buy a lambo' in 2 years.

if people want income. there are many other better ways to get it

this is about supporting cryptoprojects in general

bitcoins deflationary behavior, isnt good at all, and it will damage it.

main problem currently are the gambling banksters, only they can make bitcoin worth a lambo

Because it's an option. Why bar yourself from potential free money? There's always a chance that somebody will find your site so useful that they will donate a couple dollars in Bitcoin and putting an address out there doesn't cost you anything. Money is money, I don't see why somebody would be willing to donate ETH but not BTC.

I don't think Bitcoin donations should be even considered as earning but I know that there is a world with a cruel business plan but anyways donations are meant to be a support for newbies because it encourages them and it shows them that Bitcoin really has a value and take and send it to gain something. I have also donated some of my cryptocurrencies at my starting time and it really increased a lot of people to learn more about cryptocurrency.

its mostley ethereum or waves plattform token that are being donated.
