I think everyone has heard of Bitocoin at this point. It's had very good media coverage this year and someone would of heard of it at some point. But I think adoption is a concern right now as the majority of the people who know about Bitcoin have dismissed it as a fake currency or a currency which is involved in crime. Which is stopping them from considering it as a legitimate currency.
yes of course but it is a topic that can be easily denied, every currency is used by criminals etc
tis is cnbc, at the end journalist make the objection that you point out and the response is clear https://www.cnbc.com/video/2017/12/26/man-behind-massive-bet-that-bitcoin-could-hit-50000.html?play=1

the adoption is never something that can be measured easily. you can make guesses about it.
so far we have had a big increase it the adoption but sadly most part of it is only speculators who want to trade bitcoin and make more fiat from it. and fewer are really understanding what bitcoin should really do. which is one of the reasons for the big fluctuations in bitcoin price.

hopefully this changes in time as the profit is gained and is over, many will look at what they have bought and sold and what that thing has been doing.

I am wondering what's the real adoption of bitcoin right now.

Is people aware of what bitcoin is and what is the real purpouse of cryptocurrencies?

Are we jet in the very first phase where early adopters start the adoption process or are we in the next phase when a larger number of people start to adopt BTC?

All our Christmas speechs with parents and friends have really been understood?

Is in general people only speculating with fluctuating markets or is really people buying and holding their coins for the long therm run? How many of them HODL?

I am really wondering abut it because I feel it is the K-factor right now... how is it people perceiving cryptocurrencies? Have they understood that the objective is to change the entire social/economical system?
