Digibyte has quite active development unlike most other short lived crypto currencies. It might be developed further in the future.

Because DGB has a professional team. It's not just another coin.
Yes, I know. This is being said a lot, but have a look for yourself https://www.youtube.com/user/DigiByteCoin

Never heard of it, I'll look it up some more

Its coming up 2 years, i started mining it when i was new to crypto, once doge become unprofitable i mined some and then sold my rig.

nice, so it it any good?

Got a good dev, but nothing overly unique to attract me to it.

NXT is where its at for me, but its good to diversify.

I mined about 40K of the things shortly after launch, ended up dumping them for NXT.
I still think NXT is a better investment, but anyone know why the sharp rise?
Ive seen this happen before with Digibyte, but am interested to know more.

Pump and dump?
Well most digibyte was dumped in the early stages of mining, perhaps its more profitable to mine again and perhaps they are once more dumping the coins they have pumped from mining?
