It did happen already when blockchain was congested with unconfirmed transaction like a month or 2 ago.
You shoul increase sending fee to atleast 100 sat/ byte or atleast 0.0003 btc so you can get your transaction in priority.

I currently had 0.0005 BTC/kB, is this not good enough? 100sat/b = what in btc/kb? This math confused me

100 satoshi is 0.000001 btc. 0.0005 btc is already too much bu I think you got that wrong bacause if you paid 0.0005 btc per kb your fee will be 0.005 btc and above.

This is widespreading every where, even some BTC faucets, Gambling and PTC sites have put a notification sign about Payments Delay due to the huge number of unconfirmed transactions. I don't know what causes them. There are unconfirmed transactions since 22-11 and the number keeps getting higher and lower but always above 40000 for two days now.

nvm its back

You should rebroadcast the transaction as even if it disappears from blockchain, it sometimes appears on other explorers. Go here: https://blockchain.info/pushtx

Something weird just happend I dont see the transaction anymore inside my electrum wallet so I cant check the blockchain, so I am guessing gyft refunded the money or what happend? basically it went from pending to not showing the transaction anymore
Looks like Electrum might have dropped the transaction. Do you mind sharing the transaction ID or the address where you sent from so I can check the blockexplorers? If it does not show on most of the blockexplorers, the nodes might have dropped your transaction in their mempool and you can make another transaction using the amount.

Never had this happen before that took so long and a lot of reports on here of the same thing happening, waiting for btc to confirm so I can use gyft, anything I should do?
Well, the best thing to do is wait for it to get confirmed. Did you initiate the transfer? what is the transaction fee ?

My transaction fee is the default (actually I have dynamic fee checked to default) in electrum which always went through fine, just not this day, I sent to gyft but they need a confirn before they send code. Looks like something happend as a lot of reports here, maybe I should switch some settings? what fee should I use?
Dynamic fees are actually pretty accurate most of the time. However, at times, the result can vary if the transaction volumes surges and many more transactions pays more fee/byte as compared to you. I would recommend changing the slider slightly more than the middle just to be safe and you should be fine.

Btw, 100satoshi/byte is 100,000satoshi/kb, which is 0.001BTC/KB.
