I've accidentally stickied a thread before. There's no confirmation when you press it so it's easy to mistakenly click especially on a mobile device.

If a mod splits a stickied topic, the split post(s) also end up stickied. Mods sometimes forget to unsticky it. Thanks for letting us know.

Haha, the guy is probably enjoying his fame. Although I can't say anything for certain, one of the mods most likely made a mistake and pressed the wrong option.
