Honk Kong is up there for me. Beautiful, cosmopolitan city, and bustling with activity and nightlife. It's a fun place to spend a few weeks.

Visited there twice myself.

Too crowded and too expensive.

i was going to say the same, even though i've never been there. it does seem too expensive though, and it looks like most other western cities.. so it doesn't blow my mind. i rather go to a society that hasn't felt the impact of western dominance, so that i get to experience a different way of life. for me, the best thing about travelling is experiencing things that you never knew existed.

Ok, this thread really has me reminiscing about my travels. Besides exploring the aforementioned atolls of the South Pacific and horse-back riding the raw, steaming landscapes of Iceland, I'm also quite fond of the Yukon and Northwest Territories of Canada. There's nothing else in the world like dog sledding across a frozen lake near the Arctic Circle, while high above the Northern Lights canvas the clear sky with a tapestry of colors and movement that film can never do justice to. If you're lucky, and the atmosphere and the sun cooperate, the aurora's show is beautiful beyond belief. The nearby city of Yellowknife is great for some respite, and the money from the diamond industry provides for some surprisingly nice amenities so far north. It's also strange being so far north when the days are extra short. haha.

As far as warmer climates go, the temples of Angkor Wat and Angkor Thom in Cambodia are some of the most amazing places on the planet. You'll want to spend at least an entire day there—ideally a week or so, since there's so much to explore. Remember to bring lots of US dollars in singles and fives for your main purchases. Use the local currency for smaller items.

I think New Zealand... it feels so free there.

New Zealand is my dream location... But right now I can't go there because of financial difficulties. If Bitcoin crosses 10K in the future, a trip to NZL will be one of my first tasks.

Caramoan Islands in the Philippines.

Just had my vacation there and it was the best so far. Unspoiled beaches, simple living, relaxing place. Name all the good things, you can have it all there.  Wink

My fav is the USA - it has some amazing scenery. It's my aim to visit each of the 50 states.
I'm not a big traveler. However, holidays are always nice for me as a teacher, because it means I have the flexibility to get in some much-needed time to hang out with friends.

For me, probably someplace high up in the mountains with snow through the whole year. Just take take my board and ride the slopes. I dislike hot weather, and suntanning/swimming in the sea is just not my thing. The last time I've been in a beach resort, I spent most of my time indoors playing cards/board games, or on hikes/sights. But snowboarding will always be my preferred holiday plan.

I think New Zealand... it feels so free there.

I've always wanted to go to New Zealand, so did my Father.  I know a friend who has gone there and she says it is an amazing place to see.  One day I hope to be able to take a trip there.  I think it would be very fitting to spread my Fathers ashes there.

He never left any instructions on where to be spread, but I figure that would be a fitting place since he always wanted to go.

I have been to the following destinations:

1. Goa, India
2. Kerala, India
3. Maldives
4. Sri Lanka
5. Singapore
6. Malaysia

Would rate Yala National Park (Sri Lanka) as the best destination I have ever visited. Really calm and serene place, pristine beaches, with lots of natural beauty. Abundant wildlife as well (Elephants, Leopards and Water Buffalo).

One of my favorites is Whistler BC Canada. It's only about a 3 hour drive from where I live.  I'm not much of a skier, but the host lost of cool events every year.  crankworx is awesome every year.  They also have the peak to peak gondola, amazing views.  Heli tours, zip line tours, and hiking tours.  You can also fly down the bobsleigh/luge track during the winter that was used in the 2010 Winter Olympics.

I would like to see Iceland as is gaining credibility as the "Hollywood of the North" after several blockbusters were shot there, including Oblivion, Prometheus and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
That island is just so beautiful and scenic.
Iceland is a special place. (I almost posted it as my favorite.)

Horseback riding their stout horses around volcanoes and over deep fissures in the earth's crust—what a sensation!

I usually stay at the Hotel Centrum, which is above an archeological site of the first settlement and which also serves as a fascinating exhibit of Viking history.

There's great good, nightlife, and shopping. So many unique places to visit.

I especially enjoy Icelandic literature, and it really came to life after seeing Iceland first hand.

And since finance is my profession, it's also a fun place to visit for the fiscal and monetary side of things. haha.

Above all, though, is the land. I've traveled all over the world and have never found another place that feels as raw and magical as Iceland.

The South Pacific.

My most recent trip was to Rarotonga.

Some of the outer atolls of the Cook Islands are breathtaking.

I know it may sound over rated, but I`d say hawaii. I remember snorkling with the fishes so good.
I've heard from many people that you should go to French Polynesia or some other Pacific country instead. Often much cheaper and not as exploited. And that's a nice combo! Smiley

i really just like being out in the wilderness come to think of it. was recently in the mountains a few months ago and i was in a forest with trees that spanned 100 feet high, as far as the eyes could see. it was a trippy moment where i felt like i was no longer on earth. the trees just absorbed all the sound and it just felt weird.

I was looking at a rail tour but if I can remember it was quite expensive. Going down through France & Spain by train & then over to Morocco by ferry.

it's not that expensive, not at all, also you can go by car, it's better more physically demending but you have that freedom, a similar trip took me 26hrs non stop which is feasable, and you'll have the freedom of having your own car at your disposal, the other way is by plane, which is also cheap, there are many lowcost companies that do Morocco - EU

the place I'd like and I do visite often is Morocco such a wonderful country and it takes, 2 to 3 hours to get there from where I live in Europe

I was thinking of Morocco for next year. I'm in the UK so it's not that far away from me either.

good choice, did you choose which cities are you going to visit ? just look up the different information and feedback from people that have already visited the country, to see which stuffs suites your taste more than others and the precaution to take when you are visiting a foreign country

yeah, i like somewhere new and unfamiliar.. part of the reason why i'm not huge on travelling to europe, especially considering the cost. ridiculously expensive to just get around in europe. a month in europe would probably be the cost of a year travelling in other areas of the world.

I have been to Egypt & the Pyramids. I couldn't believe that they are basically in a suburb of Cairo! When you see photos, you imagine that they are out in the desert far from civilisation but that's just because of the angle they're taken from. I also visited Luxor & I loved the Temple of Karnak, plus just seeing people going about their everyday lives on the long journey there. Their lives are so different from ours in the west - felt really sorry for the donkeys burdened down with huge loads though.  Sad

Egypt is overrated in my opinion. There is nothing really that magnificent there. I bet all of Egyptian monuments you have seen already on pictures they are not that great in reality.
I live in Europe and here Egyptian vacation are nothing special, it is quite cheap & affordable trip. But I hear all the time from people who went there that Egypt trips are so so.

If you Visit Massachusetts Visit the far western end.  The area is beautiful with mountains,Fresh rivers and streams more beauty than you can imagine.  You can see Bald Eagles,Deer,Elk Fish for Salmon in some of the cleanest rivers in the state. You can camp in the fresh air of the mountains while being close enough to Semi-populated areas. Visit Mt. Greylock the Highest Mountain in Massachusetts.

If you Visit Boston don't let that visit make you think all of Massachusetts is like that.

Afraid I am already guilty of that! I have only visited Boston to date, but your description entices me to go back & see more Smiley Especially love seeing wildlife.
