I'm HODLing 5400 Ripple coins, so I am very interested in its price firing up to around $10,000 per coin so I can retire and get a black card and a Tesla.

But to be realistic, I have to wonder -- how high CAN Ripple go?

With the proper news stories and online articles, we can get the general public all hyped up to start mortgaging their houses for Ripple coins like what they did with Bitcoins in late 2017.  FOOLS!!!

But then I think of what Ripple coins are used for - to facilitate big bank transactions, and since Ripple coins are so cheap, banks can transfer their funds at minimal cost.

So it seems that if Ripple prices went too high, they'd lose their benefit of being low cost, which would negate the reason to use them, aside from their speed.

So what does a realistic top end dollar figure for a Ripple coin look like?  $5? $10? $50? $200?

Lol. $10,000 is too much for ripple except there is someone just dumb enough to pay for such and I can imagine what the market cap will be like in such case. I do not see ripple going too far and even if I am to come up with anything at all which is even going to be extremely much to see ripple hit, that would be $10.

This is a coin we obviously cannot be comparing to bitcoin, let alone expect same growth to come to play and moreover, it is a centralized market anyway, so I would not expect so much from such a market in the long run, judging from the fact that it would go against their own mission in the first place.

no wonder if the ripple is supported by many people. several times the ripple showed his strength and tried to take second place from ethereum. ripple is very ambitious and this attitude can make him commit suicide. ripple reaches $3 more as its ATH and I think ripple can reach $5 with the help of the pump.
Ripple cannot be accepted by so many people and no matter the strength it tries to pull it will still be suppressed somehow. Highest I will ever see ripple get to as well is going to be $5 and I would not expect something pretty big like what we had in bitcoin or any other market at all.

First and foremost, this is a centralized market and it is going to be controlled obviously, and just like the OP said, the idea is to have a banker's coin with fast speed and pretty cheap so it can be transferred at very little cost, and if we start seeing ripple get off the hook, that changes things. Also, I wonder who would want to be buying an overpriced market where the developers are holding most of it.

ripple has the opportunity to rise well, because it is tied to the banking system. Judging by how it grows and falls, there is always a distrust of any cryptocurrency. And it is no exception

10000$ per ripple looks very un realistic speculation about Ripple  Grin Grin Grin.
Ripple is also one of my favorite cryptocurrency which i am holding in my portfolio & my specualtion for ripple is 50$ to 100$ in 2019. Also there is news going on about  US President Donald Trump And White House Bullish on Ripple (XRP). This news really looks realistic as china has major dominance in cryptocurrency with companies like BITMAIN & BITWEI for bitcoin & ethereum mining, also they have 13 block producer out 21 of EOS blockchain. Chinese new the pottential of blockchain technology & adapted it very smartly & now days you can find 50 Coins out of top 100 coins listed on CMC. The US government is doing extensive research on blockchain technology adoption and its regulation, In their extensive research they found dominance of china on major cryptocurrencies like BTC, ETH,  EOS etc & now they are planning to utilize XRP to give competition to china which will ultimately create bullish market for XRP in future.

I think $1 is the potencial of ripple because ripple is controlled mostly of the banks and it is easly to manipulate in the market if you look at the price you see that this coin have a billions suppply that could actually easly to dump i would prefer to believe on $1 limit high of XRP.

The last highest price for ripple was about 22k satoshi, and it happened in the previous year. So we can expect to see that price in this year or the next year. I guess ripple wants to reach $5 but it is difficult to do because ripple will compete with ethereum in the second position and if ripple can do this, then the position in the coinmarketcap will change, and ripple will get the new place. So far, ripple still less than $1, and perhaps ripple can break that number in this year.

Living is easy with eyes closed ...
I guess  that in a successful development of the events, Ripple could grow to 10 dollars. But XRP  rise above this price is unlikely to in the next 5 years.

you can't pump an altcoin forever. at some point everyone will catch on and see the dump coming so they dump sooner so the pumps beomes shorter and as they do there will be less profit and consequently people move to other coins to pump instead of this old one and eventually the coin dies.
a coin like XRP that is only living for pump and dumps and has no other purpose can not live on long enough to reach a high price let alone that ridiculous high prices some people expect out of it Cheesy

If you can live for 1000 years then there might be some chances for Ripple to reach $10,000 per coin otherwise it's impossible for it to go that high.

So what does a realistic top end dollar figure for a Ripple coin look like?  $5? $10? $50? $200?
It will hardly reach $5 per coin within few years but if you even predict it going $10 Per coin then there is doubt that such kind of thing will ever happen. But there are still some strange things that could happen which might make Ripple Rise as high as $7.

No, ripple can never reach even $10. I don't see any qualities for which people cam suppport it.
It was actually developed for inter-banking transactions, tgus its volume too low on exchanges.
Once it reached $2/XRP but soon its value dropped, nobody will suggest investments in ripple

According to the current situation, the price of XRP seems to have stabilized between $0.45-0.5, and I think this situation may last at least 1 month!

I guess as a centralised coin people are giving some importance to XRP as there is banking support for this coin. They have some hope comparing to other coins like it will never let them down very soon also they hope it will maintain a stability in the market. In my opinion XRP will never skyrocket like BTC, ETH and other coins as it is a centralised coin they will maintain a standard in ups and down.

price firing up to around $10,000 per coin

i can't tell if you are trolling or if you are actually naive enough to think this is a possibility!
i will give you the benefit of the doubt and assume it is the later. in which case you should know that the price of everything will always come down to "supply and demand". in a market filled with thousands of altcoins there is no demand for a coin like XRP which happens to be centralized too. and on top of it XRP is not one of those coins with low supply. its supply is actually among the top 10 huge supplies (100 billion). it means huge supply + no demand = low price (current $0.5 is even considered overpriced).

if in some alternate universe XRP reached $10k then bitcoin should be worth $1*1015

$10,000 is absolutely impossible in this lifetime. Look at the circulating supply of XRP... almost 40 billion and counting

Currently, Ripple is less than USD $0.5 and it's already 3rd in terms of market cap. Each dollar it gains in value adds almost 40 billion to the market cap. This means that if Ripple hits just $4, it will overtake Bitcoin in terms of market cap.
What's more, Ripple has an infinite supply. The higher powers that control Ripple can create more. So who knows how many coins could be in circulation over the next few years.

Let's extrapolate. Today, according to CMC, Bitcoin Dominance is 53.7 percent of the current market. Let's say Ripple amazingly manages to equal Bitcoin's dominance and it captures 50 percent of the market. Of course, total market cap for all cryptocurrencies will probably rise over the next few years. So let's say it manages to hit 7.5 trillion within 10 years (which is roughly the value of all the gold in the world today: http://onlygold.com/Info/All-The-Gold-In-The-World.asp). Total market cap for today is 'only' 211 billion++, by the way.

So in this scenario Ripple accounts for 50 percent of a 7.5 trillion total market cap, or 3.75 trillion dollars. Even if circulating supply never increases, that still means that each coin would be valued at roughly $94.

That's a lot of 'what ifs', and yet I still arrive at $94 -  an astounding number but nowhere close to $10,000. I highly doubt Ripple will touch anything close to this number, even in 10 years. So you can forget seeing $10,000 in your lifetime. If I were being generous, I would put the figure closer to $3 or $4 in 10 years, if it even survives that long!

Please feel free to check the math/correct the assumptions

try to be a little patient with the current market conditions, indeed the Ripple price is very cheap, but it's not only in RIple but in other altcoins. many predict that by 2019 all markets will improve.

10,000? Seriously? How did you come up with such an insane figure? Ripple reaching $100 would itself be crazy which is why I feel that your statement makes no sense op. I strongly believe that Ripple will settle somewhere in between the $1 and $2 in the long term if the market rallies in an insane manner like in 2017 which itself would be a big boost to Ripple which is what matters at the end of the day. I don't see many banks adopting it anytime soon, but it is possible in the long term though which is why I feel that constant developments will continue pushing it in the right direction.

To good to be true but I doubt the integrity of ripple because for me this is a legal scam coin. Imagine this token was control by someone and he can also control the price movement where or whatever he wants.  Those holders who don't know what is really happening enjoying the small profit but the person have a control of it is more enjoying.

Dreamer, that's all you can say about the author of the topic. The coin is good and can grow, but the same monero or nano seems much more promising. And if the price is about 2-3 dollars, this is already a complete success.

Ripple coins are a good altcoin and are of interest to the community of investors, but no one can guess its worth in the future, but $ 10 per coin is already quite high to be dreaming of.

It's impossible to predict it's highest price in USD because it's fully depends on BTC price...
But in BTC I think 0.00025-0.0003btc is its highest price that may be...
Not until there will be another big rumour that can be considered as the buy line for these speculators of ripple. it's even touched $3 but that's for a short term but this time the price will be stable and there will be no a lot of movement from ripple.

Sadly, I think XRP won't get much over $5-$7.  I'm just hoping for the best.  LTC moves with BTC a lot more than XRP does.

XRP face big resistance at price 3$, because many peoples buy it on that prices and turns to long term investors.
They already know more about coin which he hold and try to exit at least without loses
