Very nice allocation of capital. I have a similar strategy and allocate according to the probability of benefit ratio that is allocate the maximum to the coins that can give away the most. And Bitcoin is the only coin that has been taking majority of my capital. ETH and ripple comes down in the list. They key to success here is to hold these assets for as long as possible for the addition of value in the long run is pretty much obvious.

You have a good coin in your wallet, and I think it's only waiting for the price to increase higher. But if you want to search another coin, then I guess you can choose the top twenty coinmarketcap, and I think you can find at least five coins so you can directly buy the coin. Maybe you can check ripple, cardano, xem, xlm, but the other coin has profitable too, so it's a bit difficult to determine the coin.

I am not sure of what 33% you are talking about but that pretty good rate of distribution for the BTC and ETH. Not sure about the EOS really. I would really suggest putting some extra in the BTC really because we are now in the Q4 of this year and as always bitcoin will start getting invested more and more as the year ends. This is proven fact by every last month of year and this is not new. SEC will at least approve few of the ETF for sure and thats why we must be ready for the profits that will be generated by the more investors that will be entering the market. More focus on BTC and less over the ALTS.

Investing on ethereum coins is also profitable because it was the second currency that has actually a very good potential in the market so you can also invest on this coin that has the chance to replace bitcoins in the future.

I prefer that you have more coins in bitcoins more than altcoins because bitcoins price can skyrocket immediately while altcoins is always based on the developers marketing strategy or platform.

I agree with you because 50 coins is too damn a headache and you'll just wake up one morning that you can't manage them all and because you can't, you didn't see that it already crashed. What it happens is that people have this romantic idea that in order to make money they need to watch the market all day and buy and sell coins like maniacs and most of the people that do that cannot maintain that lifestyle for long, not only because it is very stressing but also because it is very difficult to obtain profits that way, sometimes I have problems following all the news about bitcoin and I cannot imagine how difficult it will be to follow 49 additional coins.

For a newbie you already made a good decision.
I would recommend though to increase the amount with bitcoin. That is a sure shot there in my opinion unlike with EOS and Ethereum which have been fluctuating too much and we dont really know where it is coming from.

50/25/25 for me and I wont pick EOS. There is QTUM and AION which can gain more in just a year when all this red mark is over.

I think that you should continue to concentrate on the coin that does have a high market share and transaction volume. By having the coin then you will get comfort in investing and the opportunity to experience the loss will be much smaller. This is a form of choice and for me choosing a coin that is in the top 10 best coin can be a top choice.

That is it? Only 3 altcoins? Oh come on, you can do better. Monero,litecoin,ripple and a few other top tier altcoins are dirt cheap at the moment. If the price go back to their last ATH, then you can even be a millionaire, depending upon how much you invest. I don't make specific allocations, I keep a limit per coin rather. Like investing 0.05 BTC for one alt and 0.1BTC for another. Allocation, I don't care much. Just go with the wind. If you don't keep your portfolio diversely, get ready to get fucked up in the behind.

I don't think Equal suggestion is good,go with most of your investment into the king of crypto and invest on the potential coins for long term investments.I think 50% or more into the bitcoin is the good option because it is both suitable for long term and short term as well and most of the cryptos just depend on the bitcoin price so invest on it.Invest on ethereum if you are really going to hold it for long term or choose the coin with high growth percentage.

There are so many combinations you can actually invest in in this market. That is why many people really have a hard time determining which coins or tokens to invest it, because actually, the sky is the limit here. However, one must consider which coin would actually bring forth good movement and command good support from the community. Usually, those coins that have better chances are born out of projects that hold a new concept, if not, show a big improvement from their predecessors.

I always buy eth,ltc or btc during the bull trends, you can easily check which one is the strongest and buy that one. I would personally invest in Vechain, definitely a serious coin, tons of partnerships and tons of good news all the time.

Yeah, I didn't want to be that strict, but you are right. In fact, the only use for these pump and dump coins is to accumulate more BTC, but this requires some trading skills.

Nearly all of those are in the top 20, If you really want to experience explosive gains, you can't just play it safe and stick with tested coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum. The biggest gains are made by the coins with the smallest market caps, as they have a lot of gas left in the tank for growth. Take a look below the top 100 by market cap and you'll find some undervalued gems there.

Binance has a bagys price movement, you can add it to your portfolio. If you look at 6-17 months apart will have a good price increase, I guess it fits with what you want.

It depends on the risks you want to take, your portfolio is decent and if you did that yourself then congratulations however since I'm a very conservative person when it comes to my investments I will put at least 50% in bitcoin this may seem too much for some people but it is necessary to keep that much invested at all times just in case bitcoin begins to skyrockets again.

Yes it is rightly said that only invest what you do not require immediately in crypto markets or afford to lose the max. Another couple of things is that if you are weak heart person or cannot be patient then do not trade or invest in this market. Do invest in few coins and diversify rather than investing in a single coin.

Ethereum definitely holds the dominant position in its space, but the only thing that worries me a bit is that it depends too much on ICO's. There might and probably will be a time where ICO's lose their shine, and when that happens it will be difficult to stay relevant in the way it is relevant right now. On top of that, altcoins mostly follow Bitcoin closely, which takes away the purpose of investing in anything already developed. The only difference is that altcoins tend to increase faster, but also decrease faster. It works both ways. The only thing that I can say is that people should definitely avoid investing in Litecoin with Bitcoin. If you invest in Litecoin then do it with fiat. Litecoin's Bitcoin ratio hasn't gone up since 2013....

6 to 12 months is a very short period, so I think you should just stick with bitcoin, if bitcoin go up a lot then some altcoins will fall in value terms relative to bitcoin but those same altcoins will rise relative to the dollar, for this you should see if your objective is to even hold those altcoins in order to have more bitcoins in the future or if you intend to hold those altcoins in order to have more dollars .. for example that bought lisk a few weeks ago for the price of 0.0015 satoshi should be crying at the moment, but if the bitcoin price goes up now then the lisk would rise in dollars but in bitcoin is another story.

I feel like an old man with only Bitcoin that I hodl, and that for a very long time. I don't even remember the last time I actually bought an altcoin, which some people will see as a missed opportunity with all projects available.

My basic principle is that I avoid that what doesn't catch my interest and understanding, and I think that's definitely the case when it comes to altcoins and tokens. Maybe because they don't offer much actual use.

The only altcoin that I would, and maybe might end up buying at some point, is Ethereum. Purely because of its first mover advantage that it maintains pretty firmly just like Bitcoin does. Nothing will be able to beat them.

I however am interested what part of the industry will experience a massive boom after Ethereum. Bitcoin is the digital equivalent of gold, where Ethereum serves as platform for all kinds of uses and DAPS.

Any people have an idea?

I understand the importance of not keeping all the eggs in one basket, but usually when bitcoin is falling, the altcoins fall even harder. So in the current market conditions, I think you should keep more in bitcoin, and less on the other alts. When you realize that the trend has changed, and money is flowing in again, then I would invest more on altcoins, because they usually increase more in % than BTC.

There is of course the opportunity for ICOs, that is a little riskier, but usually quite profitable even on a "bear market" like this one.

i have a long term ETH position that i will continue holding for long term capital gains tax rates.

but in general, i stay 100% BTC (for my crypto allocation) during bear markets. i like to wait until i see a nice accumulation base (on the weekly+ charts) in both BTC and across some alts before i start piling into alts again.

with very few exceptions (like newly launched coin hype), alts will bleed harder than BTC in a bear market. not a good time to hold from an investment perspective. swing trading is a different thing, although i'm generally avoiding alts entirely right now.

Your spread is quite good, of course EOS and ETH are strong recommendations as they've shown significant strength even despite the collapsing market. I would recommend you slip a few newer, but still high potential coins into the mix, including some privacy coins (DeepOnion and Monero), some scaling coins such as Zilliqa and Quarkchain, and a couple more platform coins like NEO. Spreading your trades over only 3 coins doesn't give you the most opportunity, but it's always good to keep a significant fraction on Bitcoin, simply because it usually takes the least damage during the red times.

Aside from the obvious reason why we should have BTC and ETH on our portfolio, I will not recommend any altcoins or sort of how much is the distribution per coins since it's up on your own preference how will you choose. Just following others might wreck you on the way since we have different way on handling our own set of coins in our respective portfolios.

You now have your own and surely you just didn't created it without thinking and considering some factors.

Now, just trust your own analyzation and managed it properly on the way. We don't know what will happened in the future so it's really a must to check it out to ourselves if our plan will succeed.

It does not matter how much you keep but how you control, deal with changes, and buy/sell at the right time.

I think majority of your portfolio should be in Bitcoin. This is how most investors build their wealth and there's no secret that bitcoin is the best investment eventhough we are in a bear market. I'm still not totally sold on EOS though, I'm still not buying the hype around it, so you might want to look at how much you money you gonna put on it. There's a lot of question whether it can overtake Ethereum, well in the short run, perhaps, but I think that Ethereum will still be the main currency for ICO projects, so yes, I will also put Ethereum in my portfolio and just play around when EOS make a sudden price move.

That is really good move with the three coins as they are the perfect investment this year. I think you dont need to change anything in that and still you can earn lot of money out of them.

If you have enough dollars pouring into them then you can try to share some % of ETH and EOS into the coins like ADA, XMR, NEO and my favourite SCL. These coins should be next in the list if you ever want to allocate any % to next portfolio.

BTC ETH and EOS are all solid investments but it depends on your goals. If you're looking for lower risk and more modest returns then stick to what you have. If you wanted more risk but potentially higher returns then try invest in some less well known alt coins. There are many with great ideas and low market caps. There are at least 5 infrastructure coins looking to compete with EOS that have a mere fragment of the market cap.
