Great. WhatsApp deleted from my phone. Thanks Facebook.

I did the same as soon as I saw the article this morning on the news.

I hate facebook with a passion.

If they force you to log on with a facebook account I'm gone...
If they link my shit together I'm gone...

Facebook is worse than cancer. With cancer you still have a fighting chance...
Cancer is too much painful, please don't compare with very simple things. Facebook might be worse with the tracking of the entire user data, upon which it doesn't suits to be worse as cancer.

Point taken.

However Facebook can infest itself unwillingly into your life.
And once you have a Facebook login you cannot get rid of it.
If you have anything associated with Facebook your deleted account will reactivate.
If you die your relatives cannot remove the accounts. I still got requests to connect to dead people. People I know who died from cancer btw.
Etc.

For me Facebook is a form of internet cancer.

AFAIK, whatsapp doesn't use any encryption. It's NSA's best friend.

Use Telegram, it's fully encrypted NSA Free and works just like whatsapp  Smiley

What if FB charges $2 instead of $1 for WhatsApp? Annual revenue doubles to $40 million.
Besides, Zuckerberg is spending shareholder's money, not his

WhatsApp is not that bad, better than Google+ at least

But $16 billion for a phone app, shareholders are not happy,FB shares declined 5% yesterday.
FB is overloaded with money and is going on spending spree.
There's back pedaling commissions involved, this is how top execs loots shareholders money  Roll Eyes

thanks for pointing this out david, i was thinking the same when i read the news.

$19Billion for a messaging service that's already being replaced by more superior apps such as Viber & Telegram.

$7 Billion for a revolutionary digital currency technology that can change the way we look at money forever.

i wonder why you guys hate facebook but used whatsapp. facebook data privacy and collection of data is bad but its legal, while whatsapp actually taking data of third persons in an illegal way (at least in most countries including europe).

lets get some details:

Quote from: Definition of Sypware from wikipedia
Spyware is software that aids in gathering information about a person or organization without their knowledge and that may send such information to another entity without the consumer's consent, or that asserts control over a computer without the consumer's knowledge.

assuming i got you in my smartphone contact list (your full name, phone number, email, address, etc..)
as soon as I install and use whatsapp your data is transfered to whatsapp. so i share all your information with a company and you cant do anything against it.

I agree, only delusional control freaks would pay 19 BILLION for a smartphone app.
If they were trusted by the user base they would easily build their own successful messaging app.

I hope the Facebook bubble would pop soon.

WhatsApp is receiving 1 million new registrations everyday.

Bitcoin is still relatively unknown to the general public, not to mention Mt. Gox screwing up the price of Bitcoin. Cryptocurrency is still in its very early stages, it will only rise with time.
