I bought a m20s a month and a half ago. It had a burnt fan connector because the wires got chewed by the fan, error 110 fan speed in. I had to remove the control board and resolder the fan header after breaking off the fan side connector piece by piece. I replaced both fans and within 24 hrs, error 111 fan speed out because the wires got chewed by the blades again. I put the old sticky fan on the back while i waited a month for the replacement. 2 days after I open the package of the replacement fan the miner has error 110 fan speed in again. I moved the month old front fan to the back because the wires look great and installed the new fan in the front. Error 110, error 111, and error 131 fan out speed error, percent: 100, speed: 0 the miner is overheating now. I removed the month old fan from the back and put the old sticky fan back on. No errors ran good for 12 hours this morning on low power mode. I won't be buying any more replacement fans from ebay. Anyone have a suggestion for a good supplier for the KZ14038B012U fans? Next time I will look at the fan wires closely and use a zip tie to keep them away from the blades the lousy design of these fans made it too easy for the wires to get pinched. Other than the fans I think the m20s is a solid miner so far.

I saw this fan model you mentioned on the fan page of zeusbtc, but the title is Whatsminer fan M20S, I don't know if this is what you want? Because this fan is 6 pins.

Regarding your fan wires always getting tangled up with the blades, why don't you buy some fan guards or dust filters? These gadgets can effectively reduce this situation.

Is this a good choice if I can buy them for $3400-3500 each? I've heard that Whatsminer is generally a reliable brand.

Way overpriced, ROI is over a year at this rate, I wouldn't buy it for that price, not a chance in heaven.

My whatsminers are pretty much dead.

2x 20s
1x 21s
1x 10

That's weird, based on my own experience it's just the opposite, you had luck with the 17 series of Bitmain when the majority of people I know didn't, strange, by the way, did you place those miners close to one another? here is one thing most people don't know about whatsminer, the miner case itself acts as a heatsink, if you touch any other brand from the outside, it will be cold, whatminer will be very hot to touch which is how it was designed, based on that, they need to be spaced well.

Anyone have a suggestion for a good supplier for the KZ14038B012U fans?

The part number is a bit confusing. All the 20 series share the same fan size, but they differ in the connector, what is yours? is it
4 or 6 pins? flat or square? the last piece of info is all that matters, if your PSU wasn't changed before, then you likely have a 6pin flat connector.

The good ones are pretty expensive and hard to find, let me know how many you need and the connector type, also a delivery address and I will get you a quote.

Most of the M20S have a very long service life. This is the machine with the best quality in my opinion. Now the price of the M20S 68T is about 2750$
Well, now that BTC price has plumetted even further, I think the M30S/M31S or T19 is a better buy at a 6¢ power cost.
The price of the currency has dropped too much now

According to ASICminervalue it would take more than 3 years before you reach the ROI
I did look at ASICminervalue.com. It says profit would be $7.25/day at 6 cents, which would be a 469 day payback time (static diff/price).

the whatsminer m20s need temps a bit lower than bitmain does.

My whatsminers are pretty much dead.

2x 20s
1x 21s
1x 10

only one left is a m10 it keeps on working.

Based on my limited amount of use with them I would not get them.
Good point, I would be mining in a hot climate. Even though the M20S is rated for 40° C, the heat may cause them to break.

I would get the s19's and bite the bullet. just buy a few less than planned

ie if you can get 10 get 5 or 6

Mine with your 5 or 6 hope for a better price down the road.

You have some stored cash and you are mining with the 5 or 6 you got.
Well, in that case I would rather not start a warehouse. I would just use colocation for 9-10 cents or even host them in the garage for 8-9 cents.

According to ASICminervalue it would take more than 3 years before you reach the ROI. And I suggest you if you want to calculate your earnings with electricity rate check this tool below

It will also show you how long you can reach the ROI.

Well about other models Antminer should always be the best choice because you can mostly buy parts of these units online compared to other brands if you don't want to buy Antminer units then check this https://www.asicminervalue.com/ there are lots of other options just make sure you buy directly to the manufacturer or verified distributor or reseller(To avoid scam).

I'm considering buying used MicroBT Whatsminer M20S ASICs for a new farm. The electricity price is 6.5 cents.

Is this a good choice if I can buy them for $3400-3500 each? I've heard that Whatsminer is generally a reliable brand.

The other models I have looked at are the Antminer T19 (new) and the Avalon 1126 Pro (used). I don't like the S19 series because they are too expensive per TH, and my power cost will likely go down to 5.5 cents or lower after the summer.

I don't want to buy anything less efficient than 55W/TH because they are higher risk, and I'll probably have a limited amount of power capacity available for the first 5-6 months.

I believe BTC price can fall to as low as $25k this year, but it will most likely stay flat at $40-50k. Any recommendations?
