Right now we have one of those weird moments in mining when blocks are mined at large intervals:

Height   Age   Transactions   Total Sent   Relayed By   Size (kB)   Weight (kWU)
505870   57 minutes   483   1,663.77 BTC   BTC.com   1,025.2   3,992.34
505869   59 minutes   258   1,417.20 BTC   BTC.com   1,008.38   3,992.36
505868   59 minutes   660   4,858.23 BTC   BTC.com   1,013.5   3,992.85
505867   1 hour 4 minutes   665

We had 4 blocks in 7 minutes and a gap of almost an hour since then....

Paying high fees will result in having your TX included in the first block mined after your transaction. If a block takes long to be found then you won't get confirmations, the average time is usually 10 minutes but sometimes, it could take more.

It could take more than 25 minutes for 1st confirmation despite the fee being paid is high?
