it is 3 containers,specialists crew,instalaltion and shipping costs,maintenance and possible malfunctions and returns costs
I'd expect such a setup cost > 3 mil $,somehow I'm slightly short this week so will have to wait to buy one /sarcasm

Based on mining calculations, it would return 272/btc/month.
So I imagine the total cost would probably be around 2500BTC (272*9 would give an optimistic yearly earning for the miner).

In honesty, if they were to lease the miners for 100BTC/month including maintenance then it might work.

Yeah, S7 and S9 are stupid density. The only way I'll build a >1KW miner is if someone takes a bunch of my 250W-max boards and puts them in a rack case.

It'd be difficult to produce a miner of that type (took bitmain about 19 batches of S7 miners to make the S9 one)...
Also, I think those were the two miners that supported plugging in three miners into the control computers (even increasing the processing power of the miner even further).

Not sure, been too busy with other stuff and haven't fired them up yet. I was hoping to get working prototypes built in January but had a lot of stuff piled up and no help. As soon as I have results, believe me I'll make it known.

Yeah, S7 and S9 are stupid density. The only way I'll build a >1KW miner is if someone takes a bunch of my 250W-max boards and puts them in a rack case.

How are the smples working - are they at the advertised 0.1J/GH or around that amount?
And the S7 and S9 are definitely at a greater density than the other miners as they have the same size hardware but with more chips inside them.

No, because the S7 and S9 have no hardware in common with the older versions and run in a power density I'd rather not work with.

I've got assurances from Bitfury to have access to new chips and have been given a bunch of samples already.

My design principle is "simple, durable, reliable" - which means I like interchangeability but not complexity.

That's just the way I'm going, anyway. The basic features of my design have been codified since December 2014 or so, I just haven't had the resources to make it real until this year.

That seems quit a good idea to create. Would these be inechangeable with the new miners for S7 and S9 or would they just be for the 1, 3 and 5 versions?
Anyway, all of your miners have previously worked and if you produce enough, you be able to get the blockbox in order to extract the chips and use them (if that was your intention).

Personally, I doubt they have ever manufactured or sold one of these. They have never shown anything beyond simplistic renders, nor has anyone posted pictures, and you would think with such a beast some pictures would leak somewhere...

I don't know if anyone noticed, but it looks to me like Bitfury's hashrate has increased significantly recently, if you go by blockchain.info ... maybe they did sell a few of these after all...

Maybe they produced more than they could sell and just started using them?
They were asking for people to sell their products for hem as the only way the productswere avaliable. The people who did sign up probably had to buy an item of each stock in order to cover the costs and speed up shipping of the purchased goods.

OK, but I already had this information. It'd be quite interesting to find out how much they are and how cost effective they are. And, once the shipping costs are out of the way and it's connected to the grid then it'll probably d well solomining?
In raw mining on a pool, they'd earn 8.93430089BTC/day. So probably cost around 2000BTC if not higher - they've always been lovers of giving sales worth several million dollars at a time and would never go below that amount again (very helpful for decentralisation isn't it).

Thanks! I'll try to get more information on these sites. May stat off with a samall sale if I consider it worth it. Otherwise, sidehack is a good optionto use providing the efficiency is OK.

Good to note Sidehack also plans on selling a S1/3/5 upgrade kit similar to Hotmine so if you want a lower risk way of getting miners then he'd be your guy. Note that it's unclear how much a custom control (likely BBB) and other parts besides the bitfury hashblades will cost on the upgrade. Lightningasic don't seem like the most trustworthy guys to buy from but if you want a miner fast then it'd be the way to go.
