Exactly, we can be affected by the current price due to bear market factors but if we have focused on staying on long term investments then it will be better because we can never predict the lowest price but we can make sure we are going to the new ATH, so invest in top coins even BTC is the right choice for long term investment.

If that's the strategy that works for you, that's good. But not everyone has a good experience in buying new coins and that's why they prefer those that have been in the market for so long because there's more confidence in them. The strategy to make quick profits by buying new coins is indeed more efficient than old coins, because market prices are so easy to play that this opportunity can be used to make profits, but it is clearly very risky. as the op mentioned if the coin has decreased by 80% in my opinion it is very possible to experience it again up to 80, and this of course applies to new coins because it can easily fake the trading volume in it

Not exactly, this is a great moment to buy bitcoin ethereum and another handful of coins, but when it comes to the rest of the coins which have been part of this market this is not a good moment to buy them, since I think they still have some room to go down, and there is no way to know if those coins will actually recover or we are going to see them being replaced as developers feel the bull market is getting closer and begin to release all kind of coins to the market.

Don't Invest out of sentiments. Don't invest into an old project when it dips simply because you're bagholding it. You've to check and have an idea of why it's dipping in the first place. If it's dipping because of general market condition, then it's good to invest in it provided there's utility to it. If it's otherwise (like projects not keeping their promise et al) is reason for a dip, take a walk.

Hopefully, you aren't buying worthless tokens and thinking they will definitely rise again. Tokens have gone to extinction from small dip let alone a heavy one as we're experiencing it now. I believe it's the market's way of sieving out tokens without much usefulness.

The market will recover after this bear season but it is never expected to rally fast as you think, as it recovers slowly until it reaches its ATH just like it happen during the last Bullrun. People who see this kind of scenario will surely never ignore the chance to buy now. Not that I think it was the best time but at least, we have bought potential coins in a cheaper price which is something a good strategy.

Well, talking about Waves, I suggest to change your mind and delist this coins from you list.

just following the trend is the right way I think, simply compare the investment flow coming from the trend alone and the ones going to these old coins, there's gonna some significant difference in which the old coins hardly gonna have any investment flow, these old coin are essentially just abandoned coin, have lesser chance of regaining massive increase, I see no reason investing in those.

Buying crypto with good rating will not create a lot of differences. I think that you must also learn about luna. Yeah,if you are interested to buy old coin new coin then you need to recherch these coin.Trading or holding i think coin ore token volume is important for it.You can see bitcoin price chart bitcoin price already touched in $68k+ in last year but it already dropped and now average $19k+.Bitcoin and altcoin have between good relationship each other.I hope bitcoin will be increase again and many potential price grow up again.

The best time is always when the market is at its bottom and from looking at how the market has been trading for sometime now, we can all agree we're at the bottom or closed to the bottom. This means you should start buying now and keep some funds Incase the market was to dip further. You shouldn't buy all your coins ones as the market always present an opportunity to get coins at cheap price. Bitcoin was trading a $67k and no one believes it can even go below $20k but it did and so did other altcoins as well.
If you had fomo all in when it was at all time high, you'll be regretting now but assuming you kept some funds after buying then, you can easily make up for that lost as you get your hands on cheaper coins and wait for the market to return bullish for you to get your profit. The crypto market is all about patience both when you want to buy or sell.

There is. Buying an old coin when it is pumping is very bad timing while buying an old coin when it is crashing to oblivion because of the community abandoning it is also a bad time. Buying an old coin because its price floored and still has an intact community and the promising road map ahead is the best time to get into the project.

There are cycles of the market like a bear market, bull market, corrections, and sideways. And the best time to invest in a good old coin is when the market is down which indicates a bearish market and correction after the overbought event.

Best time for investing is not depending with old coins or new coin but keep doing little research and comparison between old and new coins which one good progress in daily day but how the progress and running well with road map schedule at the future. Old coins seems have completed update and running progress at the future but new coins keep excited based on my research because several months later have schedule about new upgrade to mainnet, new exchange for listing and actually they have preparing for bigger partner.

Bigger chance to earn profit with new coins because several good planning and roadmap later give impact for price keep going pump, but not recommended to be long term investment with new coins.

my vision and opinion with cryptocurrencies is that there's still only a handful that is worth holding for a longer period but the vast majority of them should 100 be dumped as soon as possible to take those profits this has been my position throughout the entire 2021 bull market I was hated for it at the tops of the market but I guess now in the bear market everyone can see
I went through it in 2017 I held the coins to the Lowe's reposition my portfolio made sure I got out of it so that I could be fresh for the next bull market and I think we're starting to fall into that period now however the good news is we still have a fair bit of time even if we see a little Bounce from this area that we're in maybe the little bounce feels huge maybe.

To make it short and sweet, the best time to buy a cryptocurrency is when you're ready to buy a cryptocurrency. Using the dollar-cost averaging approach, you'll be able to control the volatility of your investment (at least to some degree) and avoid the roller coaster ride.

For me, the best old coins just are those altcoins that are a high market cap group, which is like the top 1 - 20 highest market cap.
So for me, the high market cap is, the more it's safe, especially if you are talking about old coins. And another thing to consider is their project, make sure they are still active and still on-track for their roadmaps.

Your vision has been happening for a long time already.
I've been in the crypto since Q3 of 2017 (though I'm not an expert) and I've seen numerous altcoin that has been in the top 10 or top 20 in that year but after the bear market, they remained at the bottom and didn't go up anymore in the rankings.

Since this is happening, the best strategy is to just buy Bitcoin and Ethereum since they both remained at the top 2 spots regardless of what's happening in the market. Well, both of the 2 are old coins as and for me, the best time to buy old coins specifically these 2 is when we are in a bear market like where we are right now.

What do you mean old coins? For me, the best time to buy is always the bear season like now. That's the time when many are fearful and are panic selling. You can get coins at a huge discount. That's if you are not like the rest who are only good in words but weak in action. Though not so clear on how long a coin/token can be for it to be refereed to as old, IMO I will refer an old coin to be one that have existed for at least six months or up to one year. The best time to buy an old coin is obviously when the value is lowest. But not just that, the history of its performance have to be reviewed. Coins/tokens that are resilient and have the ability to recover when it falls within a defined period will be the one I consider appropriate to buy. Factors like volume, team composition as well as the history of recovery rate are key factors, before you can buy the low value of the coin/token.

You buy at red but the chart is going even deeper. That means you are still buying at high low. It will make you feel so difficult to make profit from what you have bought. Though there are some that are still experiencing some pumps and dumps, but it's always safe to just invest on coins that are still active in the market than risking on old coins which has no activity or updates whatsoever.

Hope you recall not all old coins ever survived bear market some crashed for ever. It will be more straight forward if you point out specifically which old coin you could be referring to. For now Bitcoin is the most reliable and to time when to buy is simply buying where you met the price if it pumps take profit and what to buy lower again because no one can emphatically say where the next bear or bull price will hit

Probably never. I dont remember any Coin that has recovered ...Its really hard a coin that suffered a collapse in price should be able to recover from It.

Depends on the coin you are planning to invest your money with. Not all Old coins have the potential; there might be a reason why it became old with a low market price (assuming that it is 'coz you are planning to invest into it), unless it is like Bitcoin and others. Check for market volume, demand and its popularity still or utility and check if it still has 'life'. There's no such thing as perfect time. Analyze and make a move whether to engage on a particular coin or not. But based on experience, those coins which are left behind by time, are having slightest chance to come back especially if it did not make an impact on its prime.

This will be an interesting story if you can provide proof to all your claims such as screenshot of your buy and sell history to backed up your story. There is a lot of user here claiming this kind of success story without proof while getting the timing on when to buy and sell properly is still the biggest question here in the forum.

Old coin should be evaluated first before anyone buy back again on it because some old coins is already stagnant with low trading volume. These are dead projects that just slowly abandoning the project. Buying these tokens is a trap. But most of the old coins with good trading volume can be bought near the all time low since the current market condition is already approaching towards it.

This is important especially at this point in the market because we are so low already with the prices of cryptocurrencies however the old saying is if we go down 80 nothing is stopping us from going down another 80 so we want to identify the best times to be buying altcoins for those longer-term swing trades

my vision and opinion with cryptocurrencies is that there's still only a handful that is worth holding for a longer period but the vast majority of them should 100 be dumped as soon as possible to take those profits this has been my position throughout the entire 2021 bull market I was hated for it at the tops of the market but I guess now in the bear market everyone can see
I went through it in 2017 I held the coins to the Lowe's reposition my portfolio made sure I got out of it so that I could be fresh for the next bull market and I think we're starting to fall into that period now however the good news is we still have a fair bit of time even if we see a little Bounce from this area that we're in maybe the little bounce feels huge maybe.
