I think I have seen such content in the forum before but I can't recall the thread again. In that thread, it also says, "wrong answer can be getting from the forum". And that is the truth, wrong information can be given to you from a user and those who know what you are saying will give you the correct answer. All the same therefore personal research is the best experience to k ow what you are looking for. I hit the google search in most time to get meaning of terms and other information. If the person is good in reading and navigating around the forum for good information then he or she will be one of the best poster in the forum. In most time the shit poster are the ones who do not read other people post to learn more but only interested to post or comment on the particular thread they see at the time

You can match answers from people here with personal research on what the question is asking. Looking for justification needs to be done so as not to raise doubts, if you doubt the answers from the people here why not look for answers that are more correct elsewhere.

I understand doing your own research is good but for a newbie it's possible you might lack the right way easily to follow while trying to do your own research blindly but with the help of forum users giving you some hints through questions you place here in the forum it will really be easier for you as a guide on how to go about doing your own research.

Why should you read a damn, witless crap, written by some bunch of losers in here, as an advice and you expect the best from it??
I mean, c'monnn..... If you see some reputables gathering in your topic to give diverse suggestions, then you shouldn't hesitate to scribble along with 'em fine print, thinking also along the same pathways, with the same perspective.
But I'll still disagree that the minority wins BECAUSE in these forum', AFAIC, much more people with productive ideas give suggestions often than the less-knowledgeble.... Atleast that's just my prerogatives yunnoo.

Here is a forum and every forum has similar attributes. And one major of such attributes is that a forum consists of different people who are knowledgeable and who are not knowledgeable. But in trying to give answers. Most people may even not understand what the thread is talking but they must run in order to begin to make quote for weekly task

creating questions and collecting various answers is also part of a research. but in the end you do have to re-evaluate everything. Steps like this are also included in the observation category. and for me all the answers from each person will indeed be different from one another. and that's because there are different backgrounds and approaches to everyone's experience. we can't blame each other. because we can not judge only from one angle. this is where data collection is needed so that we can see from all angles before making a final conclusion from the research or analysis that we do.

This should be common knowledge to people on the internet. When evaluating replies, you should be looking out for corroborating links which would be used to verify the information. If a user simply gives you their point of view, you should not consider it as a valid source of information until you do your own research.

Herd mentality is high here and people can have a similar thought to the one above the simply after reading it and not based on the content of the reply.

Looking on the user reputation is the best way to determine the credibility of someone post here aside from using what the majority said here because sometimes people just re-echo someone post without doing further verification on what they are saying. User reputation will never lie to determine what kind of user you are dealing with because trust feedback is not moderated.

When seeking an answer anywhere, you're expected to know the right answer through the correspondence from people that give out merits or quote the answer to be correct, and if you are not satisfied with the responses here, keep asking more questions under the thread you created until the answers are simplified to your own understanding. Furthermore, it's always important to read the links that members provide on your thread, it'll better clarify you with what you are looking out for, however it's rare to get wrong answers from the forum that goes unnoticed. Members tend to point it out as a wrong answer, so it's necessary to read word for word the responses you get on your thread.

Your question determines the kind of answer you get from members of this forum, and if you ask a straightforward question no one is will give an incorrect answer since it will be deleted by the moderator as an off-topic answer.

But then some other questions require the general opinions of members and are left to the one that asks the question to choose which opinion to follow.

OP, based on the themes that you open up so often, we shouldn't take them seriously, right?
I see a situation like this: if I really care about a question and I cannot find an answer to it, I will ask the people on the forum. But since I've been here for a long time, I understand who can answer correctly and who will simply fulfill their signature quota.
What does it say? And how would you do that? Are you suggesting that if someone asks a technical question about the Bitcoin algorithm for example, they need to learn all related things about it? While some users can do that, some don't. What is your suggestion for the latter? Not trying to say that your advice is bad, but giving more suggestions on how users can learn more knowledge would be more helpful IMO. I think most people know about "do your own research" thing here, but some of them don't know how to do it.

I also think this is not exclusive to Bitcointalk. Any forum/community-related website will have varying degrees of opinions. Not to mention if you ask opinion-based questions as mentioned above. Depending on what board you are spending your time on here, or what question you ask, I believe the second type of question mentioned above (what is a wallet, can I store my seed offline, etc) has answers that are quite close to the truth. At the very least, they can give you a different perspective when some members disagree. CMIIW.

Higher ranks members do not have a monopoly on the knowledge of the subjects and topics here, a guy can have 1000 merits on the gambling section but unlikely he can give the best answers on topics about wallets, or mining when these are not part of his interest

I obviously thought the same thing; there's no reason for someone to come to this forum and be given false or fake information or fake guidance and it will count; after all, that's the work of moderators in this forum, and so many Legendary members are here correcting any reply or opinion that appears to be wrong whenever it is brought here in this forum just to keep the forum reputation.

I didn't expect such a post from the OP because the first paragraph may discourage people from using the forum, especially given the forum's reputation, but there is no doubt about what he said because sometimes people will give information they are unsure of, which in my opinion is not common because moderators deal with such posts.

Merit does not mean that post is correct or not correct. People can merit a post even they disagree with that post.

Maybe what OP means is the majority of the same answer, there are threads with polls on it so members can vote on what is the best course of action or answer.

Going back to the topic, this is a forum, and there's always diversity and variation of answers, depending on the knowledge of the member, some have deep knowledge of the subject being asked, while others just based it on hearsay, opinion or what they read, you still have to check all the given answer to satisfy you.

If the question is simple and straightforward you can get the right answer and all the members who will give opinions in your thread will likely give the same response, but if the question is theoretical, culture-based, or possibility of having many answers based on user experience, you can get a different answer and it's up to you to test, further research on the answers given.

If you are asking about mining Crypto who would you likely believe a guy who reads about mining or a guy who is an actual miner, just check who is posting and if he is posting is within his interest some posters are posting for the sake of posting or just to confirm what others have posted.

I've seen scams using a lot of newbie accounts for shilling the business. The ANN has a fair share of similar answers, but more of those are unreliable.
So the rank (and trust!) of the answering ones may have its weight too.

Then I've seen, especially on technical problems, a lot of answers that were incomplete or not suitable for the actual problem (especially when the OP is not clear enough in expressing that).
The good and complete answer may need to be obtained like a puzzle, from multiple pieces scattered in the answers.

Hence indeed, it's not always straightforward to find the good answer. Experience (and reading, understanding, ...) helps. And this means patience and even more reading.

It depends on the question you are asking. If it's opinion-based, there can be multiple right answers.

Should I buy bitcoin at $21.000 doesn't have a right or wrong answer. Each individual has their own take if that's a good starting point for an investment and reasons why. You compare the good with the bad, think about which opinions make more sense to you personally, and you make your decision.

Although the first question is subjective, the second one isn't. Can someone steal my bitcoins if they know my seed (assuming there is on passphrase or multisig setup)? The answer to this one is clear to anyone who knows how Bitcoin works and there is no room for alternative interpretations.

therefore, you and those creating the thread regarding the question must moderate your thread. when creating the thread, and getting the response to the question asked. understand and sort well. don't forget to respond well. and if you feel that there is enough information, don't forget to lock your thread. so there will be no information that will make you more confused than many people on the forum.
we have to admit, not everyone who responds here is an expert. mostly speaking from experience. therefore you need to be able to sort the information properly.
