This is of course my nonobjective opinion as a 1st batch KNC miner, but I think that if KNC truly cares about their costumers
They should not start to produce the 2nd batch.
Instead offer 2nd batch customers a BTC refund or make them the first preorders in line for their second gen miners.
Delivering 2nd batch now will hurt both batch 1 and batch 2 for obvious reasons(and mayby delay 2nd gen production because of the time spent on 2nd batch production).
KNC earned a lot till now. I assume they can afford to wait for a while with their sales.
KNC stated they will not forget their costumers. Here is their chance to prove it!

Got to put my hand up and admit a few of the Nov batch are now known to have shipped apparently. Literally just found out after seeing a PM from Ixxi and following through by asking cust serv. They've checked themselves today after a customer rang up claiming he was sent a Saturn instead of a Jupiter and it then transpired he had a Nov del. The order queue has just been reviewed because of this.

From what i've just been told they were accidentally shipped by the manufacturing facility as they over-ran the cut off, due to manual refunds altering the order placements. There are a total of 15 in the wild. A mistake was made, but the rest of November orders are not shipping, and certainly weren't meant to have. It appears that due to closing refunds after the customer order file was sent to the manufacturing facility and courier(s), then the subsequent complaints raised about the cessation of refunds, some orders were not successfully manually removed and the overspill created subsequently ran into the first 15 Nov orders.

In any case I did not know before, I genuinely though he was trolling when I saw this last night, and Ixxi deserves an apology as there is no way November orders are meant to be leaving until production restarts in mid-Nov. Sorry man.

In answer to Jelin's orig q, production restarts mid-Nov on.

No worries, I'm glad it's all cleared up.

Awesome, just awesome...
Some people got their miners 2 weeks early, some other people got them 2 weeks late.
Professionalism at its best.

dude, I'm watching your posts for last couple of months and you have really bad luck. underperforming Jupiter, 2 weeks delay and now mighty Orama just admit, that KNC accidentally shipped 15 units earlier.) honestly, I admire you manners and patience..

KNC unprofessionalism is really endless..

Really? Perhaps you change vendors and get your hardware from:

BFL
Avalon
Hashfast
etc

Right now KNC has been the MOST professional of any vendor bar none.

Do me a favor try contacting BFL, Avalon, Friedcat, really anyone who sells ASICs and see what kind of customer service/response you get.

I'd remind you that you bought either a 200gh Saturn or a 400gh Jupiter and you got 40% more hashrate than you paid for, you got more than you paid for in a reasonable timeframe

Buy a 60Gh unit from BFL and you get 55Gh of hashrate.

As my final comment, to date, name ANY ASIC company that has delivered closer to on schedule, or more Hashrate for less money than KNC?!?!

What about Bitfury?

I'm probably in his shoes as well, i received my 8 boards yesterday (oct order) and all 8 have the die#0 issue. Now I have to RMA so considering the new delay caused by RMA I can safely claim my Oct order (supposed to be delivered  before Oct 15th) will be actually delivered in Nov... after some Nov orders.
At this point there's nothing much we can do, we asked for some form of compensation for our miners being delivered past 15th of Oct, we received faulty boards instead Smiley
Imo, the best KNC could have done, was to "upgrade" late Oct orders to Nov orders price and give the hash power difference as a sign of good faith. Legally they don't have to do that so they chose... not to.

Man I realy feel sorry for you!
I too had a bad experience :

I know that KNC team is working hard to deliver the best product, but confronting the facts, I must say I am a little disappointed.

The Jupiter miner I received was running at 280 Ghash/s on firmware v0.95. That became a 0 Ghash/s miner after upgrading firmware to 0.97... Firmware revision v0.98 brought my miner back to life, but I now have poor performance.

Back in late september when I was considering asking for a refund, I was lead to think that I was going to receive on the 15th of October a 550Ghash/s miner with less than 1W/(Ghash/s) electric consumption.

What I got on the 29th of October was a 400 ghash/s Jupiter, consuming 535 Watts (1.35W/(Gh/s)).

I have ~15BTC of lost income due to late delivery and since delivery 25% lost of income per day (@todays diff~0.18BTC) due to lack of performance
And with this you add bad life time due to poor efficiency (Ghash/J).... lets say I too am a little screwed up.

I emailed them on those matter, and even if they are kindly looking on my technical problems, they choose not to answer or missed the real issue...

TBH I'm looking forward to see how the other upcoming mining companies are going to fare. Despite their "unprofessionalism" the bitcoin mining industry seems to have finally grown up with KnCMiner and Bitfury delivering *almost* on time, so maybe we can finally leave the dark days of BFL and Avalon behind us. Not sure whether this will make Bitcoin mining more profitable though, just less of a gamble of whether you'll actually get your hardware, as sad as this sounds.

I've never had any dealings with BFL or Avalon and I find it strange that people always compare KNC with the worst in the industry and do no try to compare them with the best they could be.

Not the worst in the industry. The only in the industry.

If KnCMiner would have fully started shipping the November batch right now, I'd be grabbing my pitchfork as well. But 15 boxes seem like an honest mistake to me. Worst case that's 15 Jupiter's accounting for 8.25TH which at nowadays standard hardly make a difference. The guys receiving those orders are lucky bastards, but c'est la vie.

When did you receive your order, if I make ask (or are you still waiting)? First day or second day delivery?

Am I expected to be profoundly grateful for only 2 weeks delay instead of 1 year?

Also although 2 weeks may seem like forever in the Bitcoin world, it's still not that bad from a real world perspective.

That sounds like: Luis Garavito is not that bad, compared to Hitler. A little hard analogy, but you get my point.

+1, feels like the BFL/Avalon trauma will continue forever and insist on haunting even people who never bought into their bs.

...and +1 also on Heretik's post about the early shipping sounding like an honest mistake.

No, just saying that KnCMiner has so far been more reliable than BFL, Avalon, and Hashfast - so basically everyone except for in-hand Asicminer devices which come with a premium. Bitfury/Metabank/100th is about en-par with KnCMiner, but underdelivered regarding hashrate including 100th being more than a month late with deploying and Metabank not being able to ship outside of russia. (nonetheless great engineering work from Bitfury's side, props to him!)

I have answer from knc that the November
Orders
Will be ship from 15 of November and next

The ROI will be very poor @ 5k by the end of November.  All Nov Jupiter's should be refunded $2k IMO

No... all bitcointalk members should donate .005 btc to me. That makes as much sense. After all the time i spend on this forums, i want my money for it.

Maybe this is some sort of misunderstanding...
Knc announced that they still have some october units in stock after price went down. So that might be a case of this buyer who claim he got a november unit. Question is did he paid Sept/oct price or november 5k price.

Thats pretty underhand if they are shipping november orders now. I received my order (21XX) on October 27th.

Now people who paid $2000 less than me are getting theirs two weeks early? and just days after i get mine?

How about KNC deal with the dozens if not hundreds of hardware problems before they start shipping early to other customers.

Its stupid that a person who ordered their miner 4000 order numbers after me and paid $2000 less is more likely to ROI than I am. Fucking bullshit twat arse fuck
