In a few weeks when people slowly start to realize there is a true decentralized p2p currency that is too damn hard to mine it and mining it requires hundreds of thousands dollars,

the cost of mining is not remotely what you think!
and the fact that it is hard to mine bitcoin has nothing to do with the price of bitcoin!!!
you have heard something about the supply (which is going to be 21 mil ever) and you think it is because of mining.

Quote
And here people are talking about half a coin and doubting if they made a right move :O this is it people the opportunity you were looking for decades.

this is speculation board. people are supposed to be talking about whether or not a move (in short term) was right or not!

It is my personal belief that in the longrun, BTC will continue to rise.
But like you said: you're a short term investor... I personally don't think there's any way to predict what BTC will do in the short term, so in my opinion, you took an educated guess, and i really hope it pays off for you.
If you are lazy then sitting on top of bitcoin expecting a good return is an idle way but with the constant price movements and speculations anyone who has invested his time and money into trading will earn a good amount of money and in my opinion bitcoin is the best coin for intra trading than the real stock market.

In a few weeks when people slowly start to realize there is a true decentralized p2p currency that is too damn hard to mine it and mining it requires hundreds of thousands dollars, they will realize that there is literally a digital gold named bitcoin and they can mine without authorization and permits.

And here people are talking about half a coin and doubting if they made a right move :O this is it people the opportunity you were looking for decades.
Now keep buying a few more bucks and fear that you'll lose it lol, people were killed for being after gold in 200 years ago in US but now we all are free to mine a digital gold.

In my opinion any time is still a good time for bitcoin holding or trading.

When to invest? Everyday you can invest on different sites or program but the most hard part is "where to invest" cause this day it is very hard to find a legit investment site.

I am also short term investor, because i have no patience and also i have fear to lose that's why whenever i hold the bitcoins, so only for short term. When bitcoin price rise than i sell them, like in this time, bitcoin's price continuously rising, so i sold my bitcoin with the time. But i know that bitcoin has a bright future, that's why i suggest you should try to long term investment.

Exactly the right question. For the good profit the price is very important. You have to buy your invest at low price. Your invest could be bitcoin, altcoin, share, gold, valuable metal or fiat. It doesn't matter what it is. You make your profit at the moment of buy. Not at the moment of sell. In my opinion this is the first rule of trade.

no need to worry even though the price drop back to $700.
Bitcoin has been proven going through those situations again and again, but always climb up in the end.
Scaling issue will be solved as time goes on, transaction delayed is the most concerned problem for now.
Yes, when our investments are intended for long haul, we are automatically gaining peace of mind and the returns also definitely in big multiplications. It always proven that any time must be a good time to invest into bitcoin systems but we must decide only when would be the right time for profit booking or using bitcoins.

"Using bitcoins" would be a very big benefits we are going to enjoy in our life time to extract the maximum benefits of investing into bitcoins.

So when do you guys choose to go in for an investment into BTC?

I've just purchased abother 0.5 BTC today.

I've been waiting and waiting thinking that after the spike and breaking $1k we'd surely see a downward trend in Bitcoin and was hoping to invest when it took a dive.

I especially thought that dive would come with the latest reports in the media that there's thousands of transactions caught up in a back log in the blockchain.
%
When this bear trend didn't occur I decided that I might as well just dump 0.5 into BTC now as didn't want it to increase and increase and be further and further behind.

When do you guys choose to dump money in? Do you think I made a poor decision and should have been more patient?

I'm not a short term investor anyway, I'm in for the long run because I'm passionate about BTC and what it stands for, that being said I'm a little bit worried right now with scaling issues.

My worst fear would be that my investment becomes valueless (unlikely) or that it drops to $700 or below again.

Every time i have unused money in my bank account because then i let my money idle in my bank, would be better i use for invest on something, it will make me get more income so i dont know when i will thinking to invest my money.

It depends on how you plan to invest your money. I haven't seen any legit and decently rewarding investment options in the world of crypto. Everything is a scam, or will turn out to be a scam at some point. Everyone is after your money. If you plan to invest in Bitcoin, then I can only support you. If it is for something else, then just keep the money in your pocket. Nothing other than Bitcoin is actually worth putting money in here.

You are selling away your coins due to sudden fear of decline/drop of value of the coins, aka panic selling. This is the main reason why most of the people can't make profit from investing in bitcoin. It's never late to invest on bitcoins especially now since the price is current under $1k

It's now another great opportunity to buy BTC under $1k

yes mate its a good opportunity for sure this strange downtrend will be eaten up right away as traders really wanted to make a good value and stay at 1k$ now its down to 955$ so good opportunity to buy and hold if Op still holding some good funds its a good chance to buy alts or buy btc then hold and wait.

I guess I agree with you that now is the right time to buy Bitcoin since it suddenly dropped in price.

It's now another great opportunity to buy BTC under $1k

finally it is happen, now the price is under than $1k and many traders get panic in this situation because many of them is not predicting about the down price. i see with the polo, the line is suddenly drop into deep and now the range is in $9xx, i don't know how much it will go down but i hope it is not too far from $9xx and its just for correction.

Well a convenient announcement from PBOC again and the 1 month closure for bitcoin withdrawal of OKCOIN and Houbi triggers this downgrade in price of Bitcoin.  PBOC really knows how to manipulate the price LOL.  I am expecting of a sudden increase in price after one month (enough time to accumulate anothe batch of  Cheap BTC for PBOC LOL)

.If you are confused, I suggest to buy a bitcoin then hold for a certain period. I've proven that with only hold bitcoin for 2 months, I earn a profit of up to 40%. This happens when I buy 4 btc in november when prices $800 and I sell a week ago when the price of $1.010.

The time to invest in bitcoin was when it dropped to under 400 but if you want some easy money you can get in now we are about to take lift off.
When bitcoin's price dropped to below $400 or was around $200 in early 2015 people were selling like crazy. They were crying that bitcoin is dying and this is the end of cryptocurrency.
You are telling us now that it was a good time to buy, because you know how it all ended. I bet you would be first person to sell BTC back then.
i think then you can only wait and will never buy bitcoin at that price.  because the price of bitcoin is not dropping down to such a low level . i even thing that you will never see the current price in future, because the price of bitcoin is going to cross 2000 USD in the current year. i think if a person will invest their assets in the present time i think he will very much happy with his decision later.

I was able to buy some at about $450 but I obviously sold too early when the price was at $650, not knowing that the price is going to the moon in a few weeks time. The thing with bitcoin is its perpetual volatility and unpredictability is always there. One day our heads are touching the sky, the next we are kissing our profits goodbye.

Keep that btc for six months  and never invest in any progarm ,it will double or triple your profit ,but if you invest it theres an instance that you will only lose your btc and have nothing in return. Manage your bitcoin in a good way.
So you're basically saying that in 6 months the BTC price will double or tripple? Even if he'd bought them when they cost $800, it would have to climb to $2k till summer. Not likely to happen

With bitcoin and digital currencies nothing is guaranteed. So buying and holding too can end in a worse result. Find a legit websites and invest even if the interest is low. So it gives a stable earning and when withdrawn after few months if lucky you get more profit if price has got doubled or tripled.

Of course that vast majority of bitcoin users will answer that the best time to invest was in 2009-2012. Definitely before that crazy year 2013 which changed whole picture. But that is not true.
Even if you buy bitcoin now, when price is topping the charts, there is almost certain than you will profit in the future. $1500-$2000 is not that impossible in 2017.

any time you can invest and buy bitcoin, hold and wait bitcoin price incraese
wait bitcoin price incraese you can use bitcoin to altcoin trading
If you are looking to make a profit you would not do that because for every trade there is an entry point and the exit point and you have to time those perfectly and if you are able to do that you can very well make a huge amount of profit ,it is not about investing when the price is high thinking that it would break new price horizons,as a trader you have to be cautious while investing.

My worst fear would be that my investment becomes valueless (unlikely) or that it drops to $700 or below again.
I think at that point of time, the key would be to not panic and sell out on that low price, I'd also fear it may go down sometime in the future, maybe below $500 too, but I'd invest at that time and not sell out because eventually I believe it will rise back up again and only then will be the right time to cash in if that is what you're after.
Well I really don’t think that the price will fall below $700 anymore, people have learned their lesson for the previous experience and won’t do it again so the price is going to stay at $1000 and the best time to start investing in the bitcoin is to wait for it to go down a bit and then wait for it to reach a high price again to sell it and make profit.

I agree Bitcoin had already left $700 and I do not see that it will revisit that price anytime soon.  There maybe problem with scalability since developers are arguing on what to implement but  I believe it will be fixed soon.  So I guess this is the right time to invest in Bitcoin do not wait for the fix because if the fix happen, price will surely skyrocket due to the hype it will give to Bitcoin.

Bitcoin exist for around 10 years already, but in esters began to pay serious attention on it only last past years. It's logically because of bitcoin finely showed itself as trustworthy instrument for investment. Bitcoin have many pluses which make it different from ordinary fiat. But bitcoin still stays risky, cause of no one government still admited it. I would not to hurry put all my free money in this currency, but I already began to invest some % from my earnings into it.

invest in bitcoin as soon as you realized that $1000, $1100, $1200 and so on are cheap prices for bitcoin. i have been saying this for over two years but so few people ever listen.
there is only a limited supply of bitcoins to go around for everyone. having one whole bitcoin sounds ridiculous when there is only 21 million of them are going to be available ever!

I agree 21 million Bitcoin for all of us, and the fact that Bitcoin is subject to deflation  makes it more rare.  As time goes by there are Bitcoins that are lost due to people losing their private key to their wallets.  Like me, I have a good network of people in Freebitco.in, that was way back 2 years ago, and I lost my hardisk due to unrecoverable error, with it is the wallet I used in claiming this faucet.  So basically those satoshi that is sent on that address due to autopay out of Freebitco.in is already lost.

With this there is no other way for BTC but to increase in price. So invest and Buy Bitcoin and hold it for a long term.

All investment you are gone to make has a potential risk involved: so any advice will depend by risk you are willing to support. For example a tipical risk is that today you spend 1100$ for buy a BTC , you invest this bitcoin and earn 0.2 BTC as interest in 3 month, but if you want to convert this in Fiat you will earn, for example, only 600$ because BTC price went down. Other risk shoub be the fact that you need your money fast, but you cannot dismiss investment immediately.

There is also other means to invest Bitcoin, like investing in Bankroll, or investing in legit investment company that can give you 5%-20% profit annually, but I would suggest that you hold Bitcoin because it is more profitable holding bitcoin in the long term.

Legit businesses allowing you to invest won't offer you annual percentages of 20%, where even 10% is quite on the higher side. Just out of curiosity, name up a few legit businesses where you could earn more than 10% annually. In recent times I haven't even see any business offer you 5%. And those that do offer higher annual returns are mostly obvious scams, or likely to turn into a scam. It's not that easy as you seem to think.

So when do you guys choose to go in for an investment into BTC?
I've just purchased abother 0.5 BTC today.

whenever i have money for investment, i put it in bitcoin by simply going on an exchange and buying bitcoin.
i believe in the long run price will be much higher than this, and when mass adoption happens we will see even higher prices.

I've been waiting and waiting thinking that after the spike and breaking $1k we'd surely see a downward trend in Bitcoin and was hoping to invest when it took a dive.

unless you are a day trader, never wait for price to go down.
and always make sure not to listen to anyone else except your own judgement.

Quote
I especially thought that dive would come with the latest reports in the media that there's thousands of transactions caught up in a back log in the blockchain.

this two have no effect on each other.
up until now bitcoin has been mostly used as an investment, and nobody cares if they wait for a couple of hours to get their investment moved around. (it certainly is annoying but not a reason for price drop)

Quote
when do you guys choose to dump money in? Do you think I made a poor decision and should have been more patient?

i don't know why you keep using the word "dump" money in, maybe my English sux.

it is unlikely but it is a valid fear.
bitcoin like any other investment has its risks and rewards, and like any other investment you should also invest as much as you can afford to risk.

It is my personal belief that in the longrun, BTC will continue to rise.
But like you said: you're a short term investor... I personally don't think there's any way to predict what BTC will do in the short term, so in my opinion, you took an educated guess, and i really hope it pays off for you.

The great thing about BTC is it is both for long term and short term investment.  Everyone know about long term but for short term, you can buy at 970$ supoose and then you may sell at above 1000$.  If you are looking for short term profit, just wait for few days and hope price will  be down again to buy below 1000$.

It seems you are talking about day trading Smiley And you are advising OP to trade his BTC,  well if OP is well versed with trading then, trading is the path he must take.  There is also other means to invest Bitcoin, like investing in Bankroll, or investing in legit investment company that can give you 5%-20% profit annually, but I would suggest that you hold Bitcoin because it is more profitable holding bitcoin in the long term.

You are still an early adopter if you buy now and hold for the long run. That is the most recommended thing to do and all experienced users here will agree with me. Work for bitcoin, buy bitcoin and hold are the best thing you can do for now and wait. I personally do this and I am a firm believer in the long run 5-15 years Bitcoin will be huge or super huge in value. It only depend if you are up to the task of switching from short term trader to long term investor ?

It's never to late to invest in bitcoins unless the price hit 10000 at least, then there might be some correction. Speaking of myself, I don't look at price, I just invest in bitcoins part of my income every two weeks no matter how the price is high.

Keep hope and have a long analysis over the entire investment opportunities and then make the investment. Even if the price falls to $700 the impact won't be felt much on the gambling websites. So, its better to try with the gambling houses or upon unique successful projects similar to Qtum.
The prices can not easily drop to $700 due to many reasons and I still think that holding bitcoin is the most effective way of earning more money from your capital. You will be safer if you choose Bitcoin as a investment because it can protect you from a lot of scamming projects on the internet. ICO is also great. If you have a good vision, you can join the ICO world and start investing money in those new coins

So when do you guys choose to go in for an investment into BTC?

When I had enough on my pocket and I wanted to make some profits.

I've just purchased abother 0.5 BTC today.

I've been waiting and waiting thinking that after the spike and breaking $1k we'd surely see a downward trend in Bitcoin and was hoping to invest when it took a dive.

I have divided thoughts for this, its either you bought because you had enough money and that's a good thing but you bought when the price is high, just expect it to increase more.
I especially thought that dive would come with the latest reports in the media that there's thousands of transactions caught up in a back log in the blockchain.
Always remember that media manipulates news, not all the time they are reporting the true news.

When this bear trend didn't occur I decided that I might as well just dump 0.5 into BTC now as didn't want it to increase and increase and be further and further behind.

When do you guys choose to dump money in? Do you think I made a poor decision and should have been more patient?

As of now, I really don't do dumping because I keep on holding those whales are the ones who are doing this.

I'm not a short term investor anyway, I'm in for the long run because I'm passionate about BTC and what it stands for, that being said I'm a little bit worried right now with scaling issues.

My worst fear would be that my investment becomes valueless (unlikely) or that it drops to $700 or below again.

Don't worry about any issues bitcoin is becoming stronger each day and probably it will be good at $900 for its flooring price.

I don't think BTC will go down to $700 or up to $2000 in near the future unless there is some major event like hard fork or quick mass adoption. I hope we will see slow and stable increase of value and not those quick rallys with following price drop.

don't worry you are not alone in this way of thinking. a lot of others think this way too, it is mostly because of the FUD and some shitty comments we see on social media talking about bitcoin and every newbie thinking they are good speculators.

i used to think like this too but luckily for me it was ~2014 and i stopped myself after a while. now i never wait around for a "dip" if i want to invest in bitcoin.

you should make up your mind, if you want to become a day trader then wait for dips. if not and if you just want to make an investment then go in right now. and right now means whenever you have money. it doesn't matter if price went down after you bought because you can be sure that it will come back up after a short while.

I normally advice people to buy when it is at low point. If you are a investor then you need to study the graph of Bitcoin before you make that plunge. Now you should have seen after touching 1000+ it starts to come down to 800$ you should have waited for it. Though like others I do hope it keep rising up and up but for greater sense of yours I would suggest never to buy when it's in a bull run. Be patient and it will come down buy it then, sell at a high price and then continue the cycle you shall make some good profits.

waiting for a dip is dangerous, the value of bitcoin has explosive potential, we are still before any major ETF is released, the price will never recover from the next few bubbles. buy now what you can afford (and accordingly to your understanding of bitcoin, dont take my word on it!)

It is my personal belief that in the longrun, BTC will continue to rise.
But like you said: you're a short term investor... I personally don't think there's any way to predict what BTC will do in the short term, so in my opinion, you took an educated guess, and i really hope it pays off for you.
