I think that its decline will stop only after the new year arrives. After new year's day it is most likely that it will fully recover by then because there will be no big event coming real soon that would have the need to spend some money. I guess the holidays also has a direct effect on the Bitcoin rates. As you can see just after Christmas is when Bitcoin started recovering. Hopefully after the new year, it will fully recover.

You're right, so far you can't see the possibility of growth to levels before the holidays. Most likely, higher increases should be expected after the new year.

I think it will settle in the 12k range during the holiday period and then start a new growth cycle in January

Yes the way it went up so fast, I think also that probably the corrected price should be around 12 K but its hard to predict. Bitcoin and Alts really shot up pretty fast since October. If the correction is 12 k I would take that happily. The only thing is that I wish I knew when because I want to buy more stuff and I get bored when I am not buying Cryptos

I think Bitcoin's volatility will not change for a while since people are uncertain of its true market value. I believe it has yet to prove its worth.

No, bitcoin will never be in a perfect straight line. When that happen, then the characteristics of being volatile will not exist anymore. And bitcoin will not be profitable anymore.

I don't think the price corrections of bitcoin will never stop. Its the nature of the bitcoin, its volatility and that nature cannot be stopped. As soon as the price is pumped expect a price correction to happen.

So far it looks that the drops were stopped again and the price increases. Optimism is returning to the market. But for now it's difficult to predict which way the price will go.

Do not be frighten guys, it is just normal for Bitcoin to correct, well it has been rocketing for a while and it needs to come down sometimes. And it is just normal!
These corrections are normal in bitcoin, if it comes down the least price can be up to $10k and again bitcoin rises up from January, now it's time to buy, some alts is also having good future, observe and invest it will be more profitable.

Bitcoin is like a rocket .... it goes up falls down ... ignites the next stage and goes up again .... Smiley

Soon we will drift out of orbit Tongue

The golden opportunity is over but I would be surprised if there are not more good opportunities. Bitcoin right now is around 16k and it won't be a smooth ride on the way back up to the previous ATH just below 20k. If bitcoin drops to 14k or so again it's a good buying opportunity.
The opportunity to make a lot of money with bitcoin is over as the price has risen a lot,now we have to check and look for opportunity in the alt coin market to make a fortune ,but if you have the capacity to hold bitcoin get in and hold for a long time, who knows what the price would be five to ten years from now.

No one really knows because bitcoin's character was extraordinarily has an impact to human race nowadays, and with regards to the corrections it has right now it will not stop unless people end their investments of bitcoin. But I don't think the current situations affecting the price which people speculates a lot about it was not with speculations behind, but the reality on how every person need and spend money for their family specially those things that they spend like buying what they wanted to make themselves happy.

Relax for now and try to grab this opportunity to accumulate more. Most investors who took profit could just be taking their holiday vacation and enjoying this season. Once they go back in the game, it could breach the $20k price level. Since it went down, it's like being manipulated by certain big whales out there, probably one of them is Goldman Sachs.
the golden opportunity few days ago to buy the dips are a proof that the correction might will ended soon. don't know exactly when but before the price go up again to the new level to the new ath , there will be a crash a head unexpectedly.

so brace yourself and always be careful making any decision in crypto , it is risky more than any other investment.

I hope that this is the right time to hold and it will continue to surge again until new year or forever.

It has always been the right time to hold, just look back at the charts, that's the proof that speaks for itself. People just have to accept that while crypto may end up surging significantly in a very short period of time, that it isn't something that we will see happen continuously. As you can see, people didn't expect the price to take a few steps back, which is quite weird considering how much we have gone up already. The market was exhausted, we were near a very important mental price level ($20,000), plus for the time being the future markets were priced in already. Do people want to have it written on a piece of paper that the market was about to come down? Is it really that difficult to understand the very basics of a market? Roll Eyes

Bitcoin is now in its correction at Christmas time. Do you think BTC will rise again after this time?
This correction was much needed before bitcoin rise further for the new ATH, bitcoin suffered a huge dip of about 40-45% and now recovering slowly. Yeah of course bitcoin is ready for another pump as like the previous pumps we have observed this year from some serious dips, and soon segwit2x hard fork is going to happen, so the chances are too high that soon we will achieve new ATH.

After every correction, the price of Bitcoin increases and the current case is not different from the old ones. Bitcoin will increase in price anytime soon since many bought some Bitcoin during the correction. Bitcoin will not increase in price at all times. Corrections will happen from time to time especially when Bitcoin is at its peak. Do not worry about corrections. Just hold your bitcoins Wink

Bitcoin will stop the correction, when people give up and think it's time to sell.
When there is frustration in the market and noobs who thought they can hodl easily are willing to sell the bottom.
Then you know you reached a bottom and the market starts to move up again.
Imo Bitcoin could need some more down pressure and sideways movement for a few more months to get all the noobs and quick money dreamers out.
But I doubt we will see that happen. With the new year, big money will come in. Maybe january again will be a slow month. It has been in the last 4 years at least.

Let me ask one question too? When will stupidity stop being a characteristic of humans?
See mate, there are various support levels strongly built, one at 12,200;11,700;10,500 if in case bitcoin crashes more. Consequently if bitcoin goes above the price of 17,200 we can see another all time high before new year. There's need for a lot of blood in the markets though.

The price seems to be hovering over $15,000 for the past 1 day. An ATH before the new year seems doubtful, given that the momentum has been lost. Support levels have been built, but I doubt if the technical analysis based support levels are any good in the cryptoworld. Bitcoin certainly did not respect any resistance levels during its run from $900 to $20,000 in 2017. Smiley

Why people keeps on thinking that there is a price correction for bitcoin while the fact is what was happening is not a price correction but instead a normal fluctuations bitcoin need to undergo in line with the demand bitcoin gets in the market. Bitcoin appreciate because the supply needs to adjust for the current demand while bitcoin drops to open opportunities for investment and normal circulation in the market.

Well, you can't remove that characteristics, it is something that differs us from robots or AI. You can't remove fear from the investors, big money is involve right now than before. I guess, correction is just natural. Bitcoins price will pump and dump. Its up to us when we will stop to ride on it.

It is actually a drop because people are selling their bitcoins for expenditures on Christmas as it is their important need but it is sure that after Christmas the price will rise again and it will rise with a fastest speed after that because after no one will need to sell on high amount and the traders will see the price at lower value and they will rush to buy it. I have experience with bitcoin and this situation happens like before and just like before the price will increase twice in the coming weeks, once after the 25 December and after that the price will again pump higher at New year.

I agree with Vikingr. People are caught up with the moment and Christmas is no exception, which is why there is an excessive amount of Bitcoin that is being used during this season. I think that among all the events that can occur in a year, Christmas is the most costly one since it is the season of giving which all the more gives the reason for users to spend their Bitcoins. I am really positive that after this season is over, Bitcoin would be back on track with its increase in rate. As we end Christmas and approach the New Year, Bitcoin prices may still be shaky by that time since both seasons yields for celebrations. After the New Year, I have high hopes that Bitcoin rates would rise since the people finally overcame its correction.

Bitcoin is now in its correction at Christmas time. Do you think BTC will rise again after this time?

The reason behind drooping is its demand, Since 25 December is on the way and all know about this fact that most of shopping sites are not accepting bitcoins like Amazon, Aliexpres, and Ebay. People are selling them which decreasing the bitcoin demand and increasing the supply, Which cause the price fall down. Its just a temporary trail it will increase next year just hold your coins.

Yeah.I hope so it will increase after the Christmas. But the transaction fee of bitcoin transactions make me worry little bit than its price fall some transactions are pending for days even send with high amount of fee.If it continues like this then people may lose their trust on bitcoin and will go for other coins. Currently, the rate is declining Bitcoin rapidly before the occasion of Christmas holidays, this explains all sellers to bulk out the Bitcoin USD to shopping for Christmas. This phase is a temporary rate reduction Bitcoin, I'm confident that after Christmas is over, the rate will increase Bitcoin strongly back in the year 2018, promises to increase the level of 20000 dollars on exchange rates. And the important thing is that the future of the currency will be the Bitcoin.
Yes Christmas holidays can also have some effect on the price of bitcoin, as people are busy in celebrating Christmas holidays and buying gifts for their dear ones, but i think that after a long rally bitcoin price deserve to take a correction. I think some investors want to get their profit from bitcoin and that is the reason that there is a selling trend in bitcoin market, but we are expecting that very soon the price of bitcoin will start recovering its position and very soon we will see bitcoin price trading above 20000$. I do not think that those people who are welling for long term investment should sell their bitcoin, they should hold it for some more time, because still bitcoin price has to continue increasing its price.

This is the end of the road for Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies.
The bubble is finally burst
I will not call this bubble thing, because everywhere around the world the business sees the depressions near Christmas so it is same with bitcoin, how can you call it the bursting of the bubble. Moreover, the phenomenon of crypto currency has taken some real time to develop and even if it’s a bubble, it will not burst this shortly. And if it was a bubble then my question is that why other crypto currencies are still not down?

As much as we can't predict when the bullish run will end, we can't also predict when the correction will stop. We can wake up tomorrow seeing the price sitting at $20K. LOL. I guess the only thing we can do is just hope that this crash will just stop and people start buying back bitcoins once more.

As for me, I'm just holding on my few stash. Not gonna cash out. I have chances when the price hits $19K, but now? Nah. Probably will buy if the price gets to $11K. Other than that, I will remain call and be patience and just observes what's going on and see why the sudden crashes.

The bitcoin market is unstable. A lot of people invest money without knowledge about it. The price falls a few days, which may lead to panic and sell. Although I hope that this is just deeper correction and after Christmas will start to grow again.

The key problem with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is that they are fiat currencies in the true sense of the word. A fiat currency relies on investors confidence for its value. A fiat currency is not backed in gold or some other asset. Most world currencies are fiat currencies, but they are backed by sovereign states. It is rare for a sovereigns States to default on debt which in turn leads to currency collapse.

according to analysts and news, such as saying that he needed to return the bitcoin, but if you drop to 12000, then maybe this will be the sign of a trend change and it will fall to 10,000, and if not fall so much, it got up to soon to go back, maybe after the new year

It would probably rise back on track when investors stop dumping their bitcoins. For now is christmas and people need money for the celebration, they start selling bitcoin to have funds. When people start buying bitcoin again the price would most likely rise like what happened in the last quarter of this year.

I cannot but be glad with whatever correction that is happening now because even if anyone should get worried, there is nothing you can do about stopping the slope of price. Just be glad in it and enjoy the flow of things. But surprisingly is how people are, just last week or thereabout when the price was increasing, you wake up and realize that price has appreciated by minimum of $500, no questions asked, proclaiming the kingship of bitcoin over all other coins.

But now, its about the end, jumping the ship, looking for alternative, someone even suggested LTC, and a whole lot of others. Guys when price picks up again, dont be the fool who played to the gallery and then blame everyone else except himself for the choices he made.

I agree with what you say. but basically this is normal in the world of exchanges. the end of the year is a factor of the decline. so try to think clearly of the panic mode. many other alternatives that can still be done. or just hold and wait until everything is normal.

Correction is a normal process of any financial market. I think it is too early to predict when it will stop. Yes it will gain go upwards. But how much it will retrace that's to see. People are encashing before Christmas and New Year. Hold your breath and watch.

there is no correction. 1 BTC will always just be one BTC, regardless of any fiat.

Very good.

this seems to have been predicted before, when Christmas will arrive, so will many people who want to sell their bitcoin, maybe for shopping, fun with family, and others. But for me, this is not a big deal, because I believe after passing through christmas and new year, the bitcoin price will go up and surpass the highest price this year.

You can see the positive in everything. It's some kind of Christmas present for buyers. They now get a discount on the price for fresh BTC before the next rise happens. And all others should just relax, enjoy Christmas time and not care about cryptos but their families. And next year BTC should rise hard again.  Grin

I agree with you. it is time to enjoy and relax with the family at the end of this year. the beginning of the new year will all be normal again.

I think there is nothing to worry about. Most of people tend to sell their btc so that they have money on the upcoming Christmas celebration but I'm sure that btc will rise again maybe weeks after the holidays.

Instead of worrying, let's take these opportunity to buy more bitcoins. Everything is gonna be fine. (I hope so)

I think exactly the same, hope it goes this way

I am hoping for the same, too. If it will not stabilize, I will be brokenhearted.

I can finally say now that it's not just relationships  can break a person's heart, Bitcoin is one of it! I hope this could be fixed soon. Bitcoin has been a good source of income for me since the very start. This has helped me with my personal finances as well as with my investements to prosper.

only ripple rise???

I think there is a significant transfer of funds to Ripple, but it is not large enough to account for decline of all other top coins.

Actually, bitcoins correction is because of its volatility. Bitcoins volatility is the thing that makes him stand out from any fiat currency. If you will ask if it could stop, I think the correction will never stop. And bitcoins price will never settle.

Yes, of course. I believe bitcoin will survive and be able to rise again. now is the end of the year. it is very difficult to define predictions. and maybe in 2018 everything will be normal or maybe even better.

Nobody know for sure. 30% corrections are not uncommon, there was 40% dump in September (from around $5k to $3k), but it has shorter duration. Right now everything falls, bitcoin and all top altcoins. It probably means that large investors are cashing out, but I cannot imagine that they will abandon such lucrative market. Therefore, we will see another pump.

I am not expecting Bitcoin to rise anywhere in the first quarter of the next year but 2018 will definitely put Bitcoin on the new all-time high levels considering the rapid growth rate and opportunities during the first quarter so overall I am bullish on Bitcoin but correction will be there for next 2 to 3 months and then the situation will start reverting in my opinion. This is helpful for the growth of Bitcoin in the long run so nothing to worry about it.

Just one of the many normal 'not-so-normal' things happening right now in Bitcoin. This great dip is now anymore a big surprise though personally I was hoping that it can be reaching at least $25,000 before making a big correction but then I am wrong. Right now, we are all awaiting for the full implementation of the Lightning Network which can hopefully help decongest the network and dampen the ridiculously high transaction fees. Bitcoin is the most resilient cryptocurrency and though it can be battered by many defectors am confident that the future of cryptocurrency still belongs to Bitcoin while those pretenders can be good alts (or where to spread your eggs). Things will eventually go back to where it was once...in the $20K level maybe by next year. The things happening as am making this reply are all part of the dynamism within the Bitcoin network and though many can be converting their Bitcoin it would be better to just HODL for the moment and wait for the storm to calm down.

haha, certainly. You should not be worry. This is just a dump of Shark tanks. They has sold their Bitcoin to get profit and attract investors can buy Bitcoin with low price. The price will recover at the beginning of 2018.

Do you think that is the reason why bitcoin price falls down now? I really hope that btc will recover its price in the coming weeks or early in 2018. I need to withdraw it to buy some personal needs so Im just really hoping that btc price will rise again.

Such a huge dip was happening right now from $19k down to $13k,i can see panic selling for holders today..yeah i also think of that while christmas is just 3 days to go almost everyone wanted this day to become the most special one that truly affects btc decrease of value.Lets just hope that this dip is just temporary and hope it would recover soon.
Im so happy we will soon be able to buy cheaper bitcoins thanks to the new idiot traders who invested too early

At the moment it's just a ponzi scheme with no real use case. Move on to Litecoin while you can, soon your btc holdings will need bigger fee to transfer than you have in a wallet.
Saying that people should be moving into Litecoin sounds like an even larger ponzi scheme than what you're saying Bitcoin is. Why not go into something like XRP, ETH, BCH and the like? Why settle for a second-rate crypto that couldn't even pull off what it was trying to do in the first place; be GPU proof?

But for Bitcoin, either it's going to be too damn expensive for everyone to use and that'll reduce the queued transactions or it will simply have to accept larger block sizes because it won't be able to run any other way.

Right now I'm just lmaoing @ the 282k transactions that are unconfirmed, and you can really see that a lot of people are trying to move their funds into any exchange so they can sell. What a day, eh?

TRX is making thing happen if you been watching the community has been growing fast on reddit, Ill be trading with that, XRP looks like a pump scam now waiting to blow. American express is just a rumor to pump it

The last 2 retrenchments ( dumps) were down around to 61-68% of the top, the last one was only a few weeks ago where we saw lows in the 12xxx range...  so ff you believe in technical analysis the bottom is 13009-13120.

The holidays always trade less volume and now futures traders could be pushing the price down as the holidays approach, as its easier to launch a short attack this time of year... you will commonly see stocks that have been trading up through mid December get hammered by hedgies around the 18th... looks like the same type of behavior now...

All the pro traders I know are buying as much as they can right now, but thats just people I know.

Thinking the same thing. And I feel sorry for those who invested when prices are soaring high.
I am sure that after Christmas or new years day the low or priced-bitcins will surely be eaten up by investors. And soon go pump. But I am not sure if it will pump to twenty thousand dollars though.

Bitcoin is on sale so hard. This mass sale has to do with the hard fork. There is a hard fork in BTC that splits on the 28th, great opportunity buy at the bottom and it'll surge up again as always.  Cheesy

It's already been a 30%± dip so I'd expect the dip to slow down very soon and I'd expect to go right back into a bull market in a few weeks. With so many newbies around, it's hard to say if we'll continue on our normal trend though.
