The funny part is ETH team are known to always keep postponing their updates, they said the next upgrade in June 2022 will erase the high gas fee which will also kill PoW algorithm from their network but this have become a joke for many years already, all we can do is wait and see

I too lost hope of the fees regarding Eth. In fact there are coins on the other side of my wallet that is stuck up. I can't withdraw them due to high fees. So it is better for them to remain there. The only advantage for me that Eth ha high gas fees is that I am also a miner. I mine with video cards and it gives me good profits monthly. I already got my ROI so, what ever happens to eth prices is okay for me as all of the mined coins till today are all profits. I think there will be a time when eth will lose to another coin that offers low gas fees. If ever there will be chances eth will lowering it's fees, maybe it is a good investments as eth is a stable coins which offers great network to new projects out there.

The biggest problem with ethereum is that transaction fees are very expensive, whatever the reason the transaction fees should be cheaper, and this is what makes many big projects switch to BSC or Polygon.

Yeah and in some article that's clearly stated that if may get another delay again. What the hell has been doing by ethereum core developers? Another project can do scaling in a short time while it needs a very long time to go. You can see that in the roadmap if the implementation may get another delay and that means an estimation for the improvements for ethereum blockchain may come 2023.
Ethereum developers and miners like to see people pay non sense fees to make them become rich.

Its just my opinion but i think core team have a huge of mining farm rightnow and they wait till the hardware become unprofitable and 2.0 will be released  Roll Eyes make sense right haha

Im so tired to pay more than $50 for any swap in ethereum transactions. I can buy some pizzas with and it seems like we got fucked and ruined by this slowest smartcontract blockchain ever.
High fees, slow transactions. What a good blockchain. I have been migrating to the poly and bsc. SOL has become my exception as it

i already move to BSC since so many project launch in there and using polygon also. Try to move to centralized exchange rather than swap it on dex since fee can get u unprofitable

Solana is going big to if 2.0 keep get delayed

We all thought the ethereum fee will reduce last year when ethereum 2.0 was introduced but it was another way, there was nothing different about the gas fee till today. Later we heard it will be a long time process. Vitalik buterin and his crew are having more plans to reduce the ethereum fee, but as busy the ethereum network is, I think there will not be that significant fee reduction. To have low fee, it can require more time and also making use of weekend when the fee is reduce than during weekdays.
Eth 2.0 still in progress wait for it to finished and become live from POW to POS network. I think this is the last option we are waiting for since eip 1559 has not effective in reducing fees, but instead contrary to what we expect fees has been tripled when 1559 activated. I hope this year this problem will finally solved.

Supposedly the "merge" to ETH 2.0 will occur around mid-2022. It's hard to say exactly because with blockchain development there can always be unexpected delays. I would expect the complete transition to proof of stake (with lower fees) to occur this year at least.

There are also major developments in layer 2 solutions that reduce transaction fees, such as rollups, that are imminent. Right now Polygon (MATIC) is highly popular.

I have seen recently a new road map of ethereum and it was said that developers are planning code chunking+ gas cost updates. I know that by switching to a Proof-of-Stake, the problem of scalability it means speed and cost of transactions must be solved. As for now, I don't work on ethereum because of high fees so I had to switch to alternatives such as Polygon, Binance smart chain and tron.

this is a very difficult question but i have to answer with the little knowledge i have now, ETH 2.0 is now predicted to make gas cheaper than other coins in the krypto market, but currently token transactions on the ethereum platform are huge, if this continues then no there is room for that, so many investors will use other networks like Binance Smart Change because gas prices there are cheap.

^ Actually we have the same question when the gas fee will be dropped?
We are all waiting for the lunching report about the ETH V2 and let us do hope that the high fee will suddenly drop so that I can able to transfer my token in exchange. I have a lot of small amount of tokens but I cant be able to them, because of the huge fees. I just want to know if this concern was noted by the ETH team so that they will take action on this.

ETH 2.0 of date is  dec 21 - feb 22
That date was only a part of update and it's not fully update. If you're seeing the roadmap carefully and then there's no ETA about when solution for this problem will be implemented. As far as i can see if we must have passed some phase to implement the beacon chain and many more. This will be done next year. There's no guarantee if the next update we will see the problem gonna be fixed by ethereum developers.
it could be another prank that makes the fees even higher than this time. There's no exact date about when ethereum 2.0 will come as it was being divided into so many phases that even people got confused about that.
I think that this can be understood easily. That's not the date to fix ethereum gas price.

All we can do is wait.
They are updated about the project and that is why the value of it is still going up. The expectation is high and investors are willing to risk their money now in exchange for the future staking process that might be profitable.
There may be no assurance but the trust with the project is deep that so many people will go beyond risking their money even if the usage was nerfed and the fees go high.
Just be patient for now, use another chain for your transactions and keep those stored Ethereum.

Do you guys have any estimate when the ETH Fees are going to drop?
Putting a timeline to it is really going to be a hard one to decipher. At a point early this year we saw fees go down to an appreciable level and one could easily move ERC tokens around without much stress. But this has changed now.

ETH high fee was the reason BSC gained popularity. It did scare a lot of projects and they moved to BSC and also ended up clogging the BNB chain and got its fees high too. There are congestions on both chains now and I hope other chains will start benefiting from this overflow resulting in both chains. For instance, I will want to see the same rush to Matic, Solana and others as that will also help give their tokens that needed value for price increase. Everything shouldn't be centred round ETH. Back to your question; it's kind of evasive to say when ETH price will drop.

There has been no bright spot until now from ethereum itself to rush to solve this problem. Even though the high cost of gas is very disturbing for people who transact with small amounts. I even spent $14 once sending tokens to the market. I am now moving to a more incoming bsc going for a cheap transaction fee.

It has been the struggle of most traders that's why some of us are searching for alternative networks just to lessen the gas fee. I've been using the Binance network which is more convenient and cheaper. I hope that ETH would really do something about high gas fees.

Hell, EYH fess has really been a pain in the past months and continues to make transactions difficult in the Ethereum network but I really hope that ETH V2 will take care of this problem once launched as it has been said. many transactions have not been able to perform due to these high fees but let's hope that ETH 2.0 will be live so that these fees issues will be gone lastly.

no, I can't predict this. even Vitalik himself is still hesitant to give an exact time when this matter will be resolved. the last hope is in ethereum 2.0 which with this new network the block capacity increases so that it can handle more TPS. and slowly reduce GAS fees. the question now is, when will 2.0 come. this is still a mystery to this day.

The main problem with ethereum now is the gas fee. My question is when ethereum changes the consensus from pow to pos, will the gas fee change significantly? Especially considering the price of ethereum is high now, or maybe more high when ethereum 2.0 is released.

when viewed from the details of the ethereum 2.0 upgrade, the block capacity will be increased by more than 1000%, more or less can accommodate 100k TPS. it was much bigger than it is today. although it may not be able to reduce significantly, but mathematically the fee will be much cheaper than today.

As long as the Ethereum network is always busy with transactions it is hard to expect gas fees to be low there. Maybe we can just wait for Ethereum v2 to be developed again to address this gas cost issue. Or if you want to transact, just avoid peak hours to avoid gas fees that are too large even though they are not significant.
I don't know exactly what the peak time frame is but my general experience is that there's not much of a drop in costs and probably, as you say, negligible and in this case, it is still necessary to apply high costs for faster shipping because a few minutes delay in this market could have left us on the rooftops falling deep underground or more. The new version also does not specifically say about the fee, but currently, there are many networks that compete with ethereum but contracts on ethereum never stop, signaling such demand will be proportional to the fees incurred

ETH fees were always been a hurdle that's why it caused too much pain on users on ETH network to spent lots of fees for a transaction alone that's why we are hoping new implementation of ETH v2 will be solution once in for all.

It will be done next year but it may be delayed due to the various reasons but you can check ethereum 2.0 roadmap through this link https://ethereum.org/en/eth2/ It's said that almost all of roadmap will be done next year include beacon chain merge chain and many more.
I just remind you that if that's non official roadmap. that's why im saying it may be delayed. The fees will never drop until all of roadmap will have done.

It's better to check the roadmap directly on ethereum 2.0 site.

Now not only the Ethereum network is loaded, problems also arise with transactions in the Binance Smart Chain. But in BSC there are no such huge commissions as we see in the Ethereum network. Here the problem is different and it can be solved only after switching from PoW to PoS.

The only hope we can see right now is for version 2 to come. Even I limited my usage of ETH from 1 to none because of the absurd fee it is throwing at us. I've noticed that a lot of users are already migrating to Binance which is why Binance is also having an increase in gas fee.

it seems that expecting low fees for ethereum is still quite difficult for now. Many people hope that ETH 2.0 will bring major changes to ethereum that can make the fees cheaper than other coins. however, I also feel that currently the transactions of tokens on the ethereum platform are very large. I think reducing fees will take a long time. it's just that, if this continues, I think ethereum users or coins on the ethereum platform will decrease, and many users will use BSC as an alternative, or even replace ethereum in the future.

No estimation and expectation when the fees will drop. But I'm hoping that there will be the time that it will fall for which we can transact eth and erc20 token as much as we can at any time we want.

Do you see any light in the end of the tunnel?
Yes. It's just a matter of time. Before the fork, the fee wasn't that high so if they do something the same before the upgrade, there would be the end for this expensive fee.

I think things like this now will just be a prolonged speculation Cheesy
Because indeed something like this might even be difficult to happen, ETH 2.0 is now predicted to make gas cheaper but so far there has been no sign of that.

ETH may be like now until whenever eth gas will continue to be expensive and it is very difficult to get them to lower the gas they have

Since there are only a handful of people talking about it, they won't take an action as soon as possible even though the problem has been there since the network has reached its most successful time ever. The fees right now are unreasonable and there are some NFT games using their network as well which doesn't a really a good time if you decide to play right now. As for the others who are making big transactions, then this is nothing to them and they are willing to pay huge fees for gas just to rush their transactions.

I have not thought about whether the price of ETH gas can be as low as it used to be. Because I've heard many times that gas will drop at ETH 2.0 after this update and that but the result is gas is still expensive.

It will, of course, it is the goal. Scalability.
With the rise of layer 2 and other layers 1 smart contract platforms that can be used for alternatives of Ethereum, they are likely helping the Ethereum to scale but the user could also decrease on Ethereum.
But I believe once this scalability issue is fixed on Ethereum, I will not be surprised how much volume or users will pour in on the Ethereum network.

We don't have any estimation about when eth fees are going to drop coz it will never drop. The last update was making ethereum gas fees will never drop again. The limitation was the very bad update that happened in ethereum 2.0
Ethereum burns like crazy but we must paid more fees to make it happen and that's it. You will never see ethereum fees to drop again to the bottom.

Do you see any light in the end of the tunnel?
I don't even see any light in the end of tunnel. We must waiting for the implementation for ethereum 2.0 which will be done next year but im not sure about how it can fix scalability problem in ethereum.
The fact that last update in ethereum blockchain was making the blockchain even worst caused by the transaction fees never go down and it's always worth two digits.
I don't know when the ETH fee can drop back to its normal price and every transaction is only $1, I can send coins to the market or I can sell them directly on forkdelta, I still have a balance in forkdelta and want to withdraw only the eth fee is very high at this time have to wait even one more months the fee is still high and has never dropped to the normal price.

Eth 2.0 is on its way pal. It will not be deployed immediately but it will be in phases. The proposed upgrades will include the additional tps ( transaction per second) for Eth blockchain added by the change in consensus mechanism. From proof of work to proof of stake.

Ethereum 2.0 upgrade will really change this high fees caused by congestion in the blockchain. I expect that its price would plummet from here specially that EIP 1559 burn mechanism is really active.

It's been a while since we've been expecting the implementation of the ETH v2, but I really don't know how much longer it would take. The transaction fee on ethereum has been on the rise and the developers are yet to find a way to get the issue resolved. Many blockchains are been launched and several are leaving the ethereum blockchain to more user friendly platforms and this could affect the number of users of eth.

from what I see there is no progress there will be a decrease in fee fees even though eth is version 2.0
and I'm also not sure it will change anytime soon
I don't know how long the fee will be expensive like this, I can't even make a decision and issue a detailed opinion about the eth fee

If I'm not mistaken, Ethereum is upgrading to v2 in several different releases. They've done one thus far (I think) and still have a few more to go. Once the Ethereum 2 upgrade is complete I think gas prices will go down some. That was one of the main selling points behind Ethereum 2.0 I believe. Sadly, now we're starting to see higher gas prices move to other blockchains as well, like BSC.

I"m not sure but never see any lights out from it. And besides,  we already have another option now and that is not to use ETH if we want to save huge fees. I know that we all are hoping to see some light out of the tunnel but to see it was very unfortunate this time. In fact, Vitalik Butterin was not new to the issue, and somehow, he never address this, and no solution he ever made. He just let this thing be made and all ETH users and traders suffered.

Eth2 is the proposed solution of the current eth problems in many ways including of having more transactions processed per second (/block?) which will lead the reducing of fees.

Well, can't say more yet, not until it is implemented.

Do you guys have any estimate when the ETH Fees are going to drop? It's been so long those fees have been as high as mountains.
Do you see any light in the end of the tunnel?
