I no longer believe in the concepts of privacy and anonymity. Yes, at first, everyone was able to provide their transactions and activities anonymously and confidentially. However, this anonymity began to disappear as the crypto money became widely known and started to receive investments. Because now, states want to get taxes by taking crypto money and they want to follow the money flow. As a result, it started to eliminate these secrecy by imposing sanctions on crypto money exchanges in various ways, and this situation will become more common over time. As for token units. Whether something is cheap or not is incomparable. Where Fomo goes, the money goes. This is both related to technology and related to the units spread by the phenomena of that period.

The time for privacy coin is coming to its end.
Just because the masses are batting an eye into Defi, NFT, and any dAaps supporting cryptocurrencies, does not mean highly privacy-centric coins will cease to exist. Each cryptocurrency has its own purpose, if there is enough of absurd people that flow their wealth into shitcoins, then those particular privacy coins will have its own benefit and it actually has the real utilities according to the user needs. So, I don't see it will end anytime soon!

privacy coins will always have their own niche in this market. i have the feeling that most users of these coins are just silent about it. because of course, they want to maintain their privacy. start worrying if you are not seeing good trading volume in exchange platforms. but for now, they are still doing good as compared to most new alts.
so nope, they will survive in the coming years. i don't see their dead end yet.

Well yes, people using it might not talk about it, they wouldn't be able to hide price movements on Coinmarketcap when demand were to outpace supply.  It is a bit surprising to me that a coin like Monero is behind a lot of other coins that do not offer anything special. I mean anonymity coins really bring something important to the table. I do think that they will have their time in the future pretty certainly, they just don't have less exposure to traders as some exchanges don't want to risk additional regulation for listing anonymity coins.

I think that the cmc is clearly expaining everything about that. So many privacy coin is getting dumped https://coinmarketcap.com/view/privacy/

Compared to the new trend of tokens (metaverse) the marketcap of privacy coin is far less than metaverst tokens. People didn't even really care about privacy these days. Even if you are using privacy coin but whne it comes to the cash out your money and you will always need centralized exchange site to cash out your money even to local currency and what's the different with not using the privacy coin?

You need to compliant with regulation and identity verification on cex. Even when binance was forcing its users to comply with regulation and verify their identity and they were verifying their identity. They are not even rejecting it.

I don't really like the use of concept "will end soon". It's not accurate by all means. And if this will happen at any time, this won't mean that the privacy/anonymity will be abandoned by crypto users.
Note that some cryptocurrencies oriented the development phases into another target focusing on adding additional layers for privacy. The example of bitcoin is the most well known since its lunch and i remember hear about the Mimble Wimble protocol maybe added as an additional layer for anonymity and more privacy.
Well, no one can factually predict when things are actually coming to end, but I believe anonymity/privacy coins especially Monero in a foreseeable time won't coming to end in regard to what the first quoted post. It is of course that on a general level, anonymity especially privacy is essential to every user's whether they are aware of it or not.

I wonder when will people start to realize that coins like ZEC and XMR are currently undervalued?

When people can see the rich list addresses transparently and/or you need millions of dollars to be a validator (which puts you in the public limelight), I do wonder if the smart money and whales will start flocking into these more privacy centric chains after the current run is over.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I don't think that people will adopt ZEC on a mass scale any time soon just because of the tax that is imposed by the founders on the network for quite a few years. Perhaps after that taxation regime elapses, there will be a bit more interest.

XMR is a different story and I actually think that it's undervalued and will go up soon.

I remember that theymos used to say that XMR is one of the only coins that BTC can learn from as a currency - and he's absolutely right.

They will never realize that as zcash and XMR didn't have utility. These days people didn't care anymore about the anonymity caused by they are putting their focus into the tokens and coins that fully utilized and it can give them all so many benefits. ZEC and XRM were outdated coins and people didn't wanna use these kind of coins anymore.
These coins give them all nothing.

It will not happen. They will prefer to cash out their money to be used to buy the dip rather than moving their portfolios to the privacy coin and why? even when they are only keeping their money into the some altcoins and they can also earn passive income from there and that's very different when they are only putting their money into the privacy coin. what advantages that will be given by privacy coins for them all.

I strongly disagree with this sentiment.

Privacy coins arguably offer a lot more utility compared to a lot of L1s right now which just have forks of DeFi applications running on them with minimal actual innovation.

With regulatory crackdowns I personally think that it's inevitable that big whales start moving in privacy coins, especially since they do not want to be tracked by the prying eyes of many.

The ZEC and XMR coins still have great potential both from a speculative perspective, and on a fundamental basis. From a purely speculative perspective, these cryptos have great potential for a huge pullback in a broad market rally. One reason is low supply.
ZEC and XMR have a very low supply of coins, and in the case of ZEC, with such a low supply, it means that in a bear market, these cryptos have the potential to gain value fairly quickly.

I think that right now the world of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are going through the necessary links to reach the persecution of privacy and anonymity currencies, the reason is simple, as long as countries accept BTC it is very possible that regulations will begin and when people do not have records of their BTC or any other cryptocurrency, it is when they will begin to see the privacy and anonymity coins, their volume will begin to grow, because everything will go there, we could say that the currencies of the future and that they will manage to survive are the that provide security and anonymity, apart from BTC I think that the one with the most chance of survival is Monero before ETH.

The problem is that few platforms accept deposits and withdrawals in Monero, and therefore there is an offer, but unless decentralized platforms develop, they will always be undervalued due to the lack of platforms that give users the right price.

Also, most people do not appreciate centralization or privacy, but rather price volatility, which is found in centralized platforms that require identity verification.

Maybe they are tired of waiting already, these coins are not anymore consistently growing unlike their performance in the early stage. And crypto currently is slowly going to centralization due to its regulation and people care much about the regulation than the privacy they'll enjoy because, at the end of the day, they only care much about the return rather than the real utility of a certain coin.
