Can rx5700XT goes back to 600$? This was the actual price in my country last year December 2020 and I planned to build 6x rx5700XT rig for mining but I hesitated for no reason, im more than ready now but price remains high even while 60MH oy gives 3$+ presently, when will cards MSRP be back?

This is up to the manufacturers, supply chain, and how they CHOOSE to manage their business in the interest of profit and shareholder value.

Why would a supplier ever want their product to sell for BELOW the MSRP?  They shouldn't.  It means the product being sold isn't being sold for what the manufacturer thinks it's worth.  So for one, it's just bad optics.

Beyond that, the most important thing to a publicly traded business is going to be profit for sustainable growth.

People can blame miners, crypto prices, gamers, or whatever all they want.  None of it is actually relevant.  It really boils down to the manufacturer, supply chain and how they CHOOSE to manage their business in the interest of profit and shareholder value.  If anyone thinks it's because of consumers, rather they be gamers or miners, they have been brainwashed by a corporation who is using their own customers as a scapegoat.   SHAME!

Yea I agree when I was studying in my Master degree in Finance I learned that in a capitalism market the number one goal is "Short-Term Profit Maximisation", the rest is secondary. This is why capitalism must be somehow regulated by the governments otherwise there is abuses.

Its not only the crypto prices that determine when we might get back MSRP for GPUs. Sure whenever there is a huge bitcoin and crypto rally, many miners buy out any GPUs in most stores and cause a shortage and then flippers are all over Craiglist listing them for mark ups.

However now we got the chip shortage which is another reason why there are shortages and markups. Look at automobiles, I think they were at record highs last month for used vehicles. People were paying more for used 2-3 year cars then new cars because there is a shortage of cars due to the semiconductor shortage. So the prices might come down a little but will be a while for MSRP due to the chip shortage.

You're right adaseb! I was reading a very good article in the The Economist about Taiwan and the actual semiconductor shortage. Long story short, Taiwan is the most advanced with the semiconductors (maybe 10 years over its closest competitor) and you have China who wants to take control of Taiwan and on the other side you have the USA who pledged to protect Taiwan sovereignty.

So on one side of Taiwan you have the China Sea with all the chinese military ships and on the other side of Taiwan all the American military ships. We could go over a 3rd world war over that but with Biden I don't think it will happen and Xi Jinping is also very intelligent and doesn't want a war.

So yea, experts predict that the semiconductor shortage will continue until end of the year and probably more...

Actually the whole international commerce has been slowing down. I ordered a new garage door for my mining farm, it took 4 months and now the owner is telling me, if you order now you'll get it in December. We are lucky in most advanced countries to not lack any essentials things.
Yeah thats why they want you believe so there will always sale to you. It is better not listen news 90% of news are manupulative.

I'd say wait a bit more, the best cast scenario at the end of the year will be better. If not, you can expect this shortage to last until next year. I'm not that optimistic though. Even when crypto falls, the price on the market is still at least 50% higher than MSRP.

I was quite lucky to get a 3060 TI at more or less MSRP a few months ago, but until now I never see them coming back to that level.

Waiting at the end of the year IMHO is more risky because the merge is coming soon, end of this year or beginning of next year so we won't be able to mine ETH anymore and we can expect a big drop maybe around 50% of profitability for GPU miners after the merge.

Maybe the merge will be postpone again but it's going well until now and the validator nodes on the beacon chain are making money right now so it's just a question of time.

Personally I continue to buy GPUs because I don't have enough to have more than one node (16 ETH on RocketPool) but on the long run we should really all start to do a transition towards having servers at home for ETH staking. With RocketPool you get commissions on the stakers who join your node (16ETH from the node operator and 16 ETH from the stakers) so it's like if you become a pool operator. I have been playing with the RocketPool calculator and it will be pretty lucrative to run validator nodes on ETH 2.0.

Probably when 30 MegaHash turn half a dollar? Yes GPu will soon be dirty cheap and websites like eBay and Amazon will be flooded with both used and new GPUs soon so maintain your patience and also the real MSRP of rx5700XT isn't 600$ it's 399$ while the anniversary edition is 449$

Yesterday I bought a new RTX 3070 for C $1,365.00 while it was C $2,000.00 2 months ago!

I think GPUs will remain very hard to get at Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) because it has been proven time and time that for the scalpers it's a really lucrative business!

The rx5700XT is no longer in production, and the new rx6700 version is worse.
I can assume that $ 600 will be worth this card when its profit is $ 1 per day or less.
Probably this will happen after the end of Ethereum mining, but then you yourself will not want to buy it for mining
💯 True, the rx5700XT is only good for one thing, that's ETH mining every other algorithms are worse on this card that's why I don't like it, even rtx2080ti is better if we minus the ETH mining algorithm off both GPU, it's better to go with Nvidia GPU
rx5700 and 5600 are best cards. I love AMD.I never regreted every purchase of AMD card but with nvidia i did on gtx1000 series. For example gtx1070 is more powerfull card than gtx1660 but now 1660 showing more powerfull why?? They simply upgrade drivers for newer version so people get new cards. What you think soon will happen to rtx2000 series??? they will do same politics on them too.
i have nvidia too but years by years i started hate them especially after this LHR stuff they doing is wrong. You buy card you can do whatever you want.Who hell they are dictating to people where to use it or not.

I smell lawsuits against them.

Here is why.

you buy a 3070 in six minths it breaks they send back an 3070 lhr.

that is not the same card.

we will be seeing class action on rma’s bigly.
So it's just better to go with AMD? I'm into how much electricity I will be using since I don't have free electricity but I heard Nvidia are better when it comes to efficiency and also multiple algorithm supports

I don't know but at Ebay Germany you can find the RX 5700 XT for about 800 EUR which I think is a good price to start if you have no hesitation to start now.For the price to go back to MSRP you would have to wait quite a bit as the prices of the cards are not going down that much although the RTX 3070 in many websites is back to 1100-1200 EUR when just 2 weeks ago it was 1800-2000 EUR in these sites.I suggest you find any used deal in your local market place online and start with one or two cards and then add others as soon as you find other bargains.

his 600 could be usa 400.

I think canada is close to that.

600 is 487

australia

600 is 455

do i think cards will be cheap no I dont.

not for a long time.

I actually think mining ⛏ is not sucking up many cards .

I dont see bargains on new cards.

nvidia also is fucking up ⬆️ their new cards. This will mean they are not much for mining.

Only when the crypto market crashes 95 to 99%. If history serves right, it will happen again, however I think, it will take sometime for that yet. BTC needs to be below 15k, btc flash crash btc below 10k is very possible, 99%, only a miracle it will not happen.
