I order 4 unit in 2 separate orders. Till now after sending in 4 tickets and yet to receive any info on BTC payment. Any of you guys make any payment in BTC yet?

Haven't received any contact from them except automated emails.  My orders have switched from "on hold" to the state where I can click "pay", no less than 3 times.  Each time I click, I get an automated email, and it changes back to "on hold".  I too have multiple tickets open, and I've responded to their emails as the email says.  Still no payment info.

Which is why I ordered again today on the 31st. Grin

This is pretty much all there is.  Other then gpus. I also ordered some more gpus.

That's all pretty sad.  However our choices for miners are limited right now.

- get lucky on a pre-order from Bitmain and get it 2 months from now
- overpay on ebay or amazon
- overpay on eastshore and get it 2 months from now

Right now Canaan is looking pretty good.

Question on the bitcoin address on where to send your payment (and please don't paste addresses here)... I was finally able to order last night, but Avalon does not specify the bitcoin address to send payment.  It isn't on the order form or on their site.  I filed a ticket but am still waiting on a response.  Is this normal for Canaan?

yeah  my second to Last order was aug 6  I was given address aug 25 it shipped  aug 26th

it is in Japan  and 2 days late as it was due aug 30  it is not coming aug  31.

If I don't get it on the 1st of sept   it won't show until the 5th of sept.

My last order was yesterday   that  I have not been asked to pay yet.

I pretty disappointed in them on the Aug 6th order as they  admitted they skipped me and delivered to others ahead of me.

They will never make up for that time lost.  WHICH IS WHY I MINE WITH GPUS MORE THEN ASICS.

Their decision to jump past me on Aug 6th  cost me  about 20 days of mining.  which is close to 200 bucks.  and they said they would waive shipping fee on my order  they did not.

I was fucked as I put the order in on the 6th which was before the price change.  my price was 714 + 50 to ship = 764  if they waived shipping it would have been 714

 I paid 776 in btc

https://blockchain.info/tx/7fdb6ae38d54a0f98d1cee86fc573c534f26b7c9bfd521631231a63229ce90d2

so basically  they are really hard core to do business with.

Be careful if you buy from them.

It's truly a sad state of affairs when the Avalon 741 comes back on, and an hour later the site is still not responding.  At the same time, Bitmain just pushed out another batch of L3+s, and their site isn't responding either.

We really require more competition here. Sad

M

That's for sure. Try the site now. It worked for me about 20 minutes ago.

Two suppliers in China are the primary suppliers of ASIC miners for the entire globe... why? They can't be that far ahead on tech, can they?

A manufacturer in North America would make a killing on a comparable model, even if it is more expensive due to labor laws and regulations. Right now people are willing to pay a substantial price even knowing they may be waiting for 2-3 months for delivery.

Looks like I read this literally a day late, they're sold out already. Sad Guess I go back to wishing and hoping that Bitmain would produce another batch of the R4s, though I'll keep an eye on Avalon as well. Anyone know whether the A741 can be operated without a RPi controller, if you're only ordering a few for a home mining operation? Also, how do they compare to the R4 as noise and heat, anyone have experience with both? One drawing point of the R4, if I could find one, is that it's supposed to be much lower noise levels than the S9.

they go on sale  in 2 ½ hours

if you run them at -2 they are quieter then the s-9  but they are not quiet gear

a rasp pi can be built for 60 bucks.

Sales start in < 7 hrs, if I did my calculation right.  I wish they'd just list the time in UTC, it's make it easier for everyone since most people except those in China will have to convert the time anyhow!

No, even one A741 need a RPi controller.

A741 is almost compared to the S9 with the noise level.

I am looking at buying a dozen or so miners. S9's are up for order today for November ship dates. I expect them to sell out soon given the craze. I would prefer going with Avalons and don't mind waiting a bit but would rather get S9s than nothing at all if the Avalons are not going to be available anytime in the near future.

Their site says shipping starts on the 23rd which is today. I am assuming they should be replenishing their stock and starting sales again?

The site now states they will be accepting orders as of 8/30.  Whether that means pre-orders or actual in stock purchases, remains to be seen.
