It's quite a beginner move if a whale keeps all his coins in a single exchange. As much as possible, a whale needs to have his presence everywhere so that he would exploit any trading action that's happening on a certain exchange.

Ever wonder why when there's a dump, all exchanges are suffering the same fate? It's because whales spread out their coins in every exchange they can.

And I guess they are not doing it by themselves but used middleman to do their transactions. I read that some hedge manager are doing it and because whalers want to be anonymous as well. And mostly Coinbase, Bitfinex and Kraken if they are stateside, while in China Okcoin and Huobi. Yeah, I agree their investment is spread across the main exchange so that you will see a dump in almost the big one if the whalers or group of whalers decided to sell their coins.

What you said is the correct answer for the OP question, because we dont know that who is whales or big traders it may be the friendly user who you are chatting because they dont disclose their identity, they just trade between us only when needed they trade high transaction if not they also do trade in small but multi trades so that market should not get affected.

Agree with you most of us here are dont really know each other we are in a private identity that no one can ever know who this user is. So for where player trade i have read too some information about that and your right that was some information that i have read too.

where do big players/real whales buying and selling btc, where do they convert their btc to fiat if needed?
Most of the famous exchanges like Bittrex, Bitfinex, Kraken has the options  to convert fiat to Bitcoin, so for the big players to convert fiat to Bitcoin won't be much of a problem. Trading for them would be as easy too because they dont trade on a single exchange. Big whales have their money diverted to multiple exchanges so that they can buy different coins at different rates and take advantage of the fluctuations between different exchanges.

Big players may be a business. Purchase and sale of BTC, depending on news and market volatility. If there is more good news on the BTC, BTC will immediately raise prices by traders and the opposite of there is too much bad news. If Big players predict and foresee the situation, you will see the purchase contract BTC is very fast with high prices.

where do big players/real whales buying and selling btc, where do they convert their btc to fiat if needed?
I think almost all the millionaires and big players play where they can see more money and more profit with less amount of risks. Now a days, almost all the big investors are investing in Bitcoin and are earning a lot of money from it. It is nothing else but there right choice and experience which comes into play.

They sell / buy BTC whenever they want. sometimes they are controlling BTC prices in a market.
I'm surprised they are so brave to buy a lot of BTC holds in 1 account. whether their "whale" is not afraid to threat the hackers. I see some whales present in Bitfinex, Okchain etc.
I feel whales is a company looking for profit by trading BTC.

I believe they are normal guys like us. Having big investment doesn't mean they have some different sort of wallets or trading platforms. Everything is similar to us the only thing is they trade in the big volumes like unimaginable to us. We can  checkout the transaction over blockchain and predict from the tree diagram that where it is going or from where it came. It could be whale or could be exchanger sites that are transferring money. But whatever it is they use normal sites like us for example, coinbase, etc. :-)

Those exchanges that already covered heavy volume in the day trade, because the whales just need a second to dump their coin to the market to make a bearish trend and there is no a lot of gap between the sell and buy order.

Most likely investors often do it in the exchange because there the process is quite easy and very workable in the hope for the price is also quite stable
so there are still many who use this service every transaction.

where do big players/real whales buying and selling btc, where do they convert their btc to fiat if needed?

There is no thing like whales that does exist on the earth and it is just representation that big investors are making trades and nothing much. To those who think 1000BTC getting transferred in single transaction please note that it could be merchants and investments firms that are transferring their funds from one site to other. There is misleading confusion to everyone who think that is the whale and etc. It's just clubbed payments of big investors and no one is having that much coins at single time and would never transact that much money in single point, that's risky.

There exist big investors but they are not whales.

'Big Player' doing the trade in everywhere,
usually they are doing a lot of trade in chinese exchanger[okcoin,Btcc, huobi] because the biggest Bitcoin holder from Chinese.
but even though the biggest Bitcoin holder from chinese, sometimes you will see they are doing a trade in international exchanger.
like Bitfinex,Kraken and else.
where do they convert their BTC to FIAT?
of course they will convert it some in every exchanger, because they don't want to dump their coin.
which mean they divide it and send it to other exchanger to cash out to prevent big dump

Mostly coinbase, bitfinex and kraken because you can see few trades of 1000BTC in them which shows some whales are trading in those platform.
Whales can easily move millions of dollar of the exchange without any restrictions because they will have enhanced verified or business account in those platforms.
