For this experience, make sure you have write the address belong your seed. because many are mistaken to write the seed that does not match the address. So it panics when it's different.
Bitcoin wallets with mnemonic seed are HD wallets and there are many addresses in a wallet. It's impossible to write down all addresses in that wallet so a more realistic practice is saving or writing down or printing addresses that were funded with bitcoin. For empty addresses, it's unnecessary to write them down.

Back up can be done with wallet mnemonic seed or with private key of a specific address. Like if you know addresses that were funded with bitcoin, you can import their private keys and use it as your backups too.

Thanks all. These seeds are exactly the same as the ones I misplaced, in the very same order, right?

I thought Tails OS main utility is accessing the dark web, especially when used with Tor. Never knew it comes with an Electrum wallet. Thanks anyway.
That’s just one of its many uses. Tails OS is mainly used by those who want more privacy and security.

No offense but don’t know why this reminded me of those who used to say bitcoin is mainly used by criminals Smiley
People simply need to be informed enough to counter misinformation — unless, of course, they prefer focusing solely on the negative aspects of these things. Bitcoin is used to be like that by some but with the help of chainanalysis it just changes everything. Well, we have mixers today, so that still a plus for privacy-related concerns about Bitcoin transactions.

If you didn’t do anything wrong then the answer is yes. However, to be complete sure, just use that seed to create a new wallet (create new wallet -> I already have a seed) and see if it will create the same wallet (same addresses).
After that, make sure to back up your wallet seed properly this time and don’t repeat the same mistake.

Take note: I think it's not a good idea to do it on a compromise and online device when you are going to get the seed phrase again from Electrum.

If I were you to disconnect the device from the internet and open the Electrum and go to Wallet>seed, make sure to right them down on the piece of paper instead of using the copy-pasting to avoid recording your copy history.

Once you write down the seed phrase, make sure to remove the Electrum and your wallet from that device and completely wipe them off.
Learn to make cold storage for safety. The easy method is by using the tails OS; it has a built-in Electrum; you can install it on the USB drive. If you are looking for a guide, here's the simple guide below

I've been using my Electrum wallet for a few months. Last night, for some reason, the wallet couldn't open nd I realized I don't remember where I stored my seedphrse. Today it finally opened and I need to access those 12(?) words. Where do I start?
Others have actually given good descriptions on how to locate your seed phrase on a desktop version of Electrum. Take note OP that the seed phrase can be used to access the wallet anytime anywhere as long as it is inserted in a software that recognises it as a valid check sum. Nevertheless, Electrum uses a different seed time from a majority of other wallets.
This basically means that ELECTRUM will recognize other seed phrases like BIP-39 seed formats as a valid check sum however since Electrum has its standard seed type, other wallets that don't support it may not recognise it as a valid checksum.

Yes, it is the same wallet and same wallet seed phrase.

Because when you create your wallet, you have wallet seedphrase, and have to type it as your confirmation that you already backup your wallet seed phrase (for wallet recovery later), and at the end, you have to type your wallet password.

Wallet password is a layer of protection to prevent hackers to acces your wallet without typing wallet password accurately. If you as an owner of the wallet, type wallet password correctly, you will be able to access your wallet mnenonic seed/ private key. It's the same as the wallet you created initially.

If you are still unclear on how to back up, then recover your wallet, you can learn.
How to back up a seed phrase?

I am not sure why you misplaced  your wallet seed, it's bad practice in wallet backup and you need to avoid it in future.

Restoring your standard wallet from seed with Electrum wallet.

Yes. As long as it is the seed phrase, you have nothing to be worried about. Make sure you backup the seed phrase. Do not back up the seed phrase on an online device like on your phone which I think is the reason you could have forgotten where you backup the seed phrase. Backup the seed phrase offline like in a papaer, stainless steel or titanium sheet.

If you backup the seed phrase online, it is better you create another wallet and move your coins there.

Open the electrum wallet go to the wallet on the menu bar open it and then click on seed. It will ask for the wallet password you set and it will then unlock the seed phrase. The wallet is just at the top with the other options like file

I hope the seed phrase was originally created using electrum wallet which means it is electrum custom seed phrase, if it is not then it will be hard to actually get the seed phrase from electrum because electrum wallet doesn’t display BIP39 seed phrase, you will see it gray out.

If the seed phrase gets grayed out then you might have to back up the master private key instead which is also the extended private key and then import it later to any wallet that supports extended private key

For desktop Electrum. At the top left corner on the GUI, click on wallet -> seed.

If it is a mobile Electrum, click on your wallet name -> wallet details to proceed. You wallet name can be seen at the top left corner.
