YouTube is having tons of information about crypto investing and technical analysis along with the explanation of how they got the resultant graph that they are showing in their video. Also there are a lot of things that we can learn from traditional trading books, many things are also same in crypto just like trading stocks. Also practice is the most important in learning along with the theoretical knowledge that we gain from the books, because you will make many mistakes when you enter the market that you learn to rectify with the experience that you gain with time.
Youtube now is one of the sources of the common factors in having information about trading technical analysis and might also fundamental.
But though, don't you rely on one video only, refer as many as you can so you have more sources in your technical analysis.

I suggest also having your own research and study about support and resistance as your good indicator of trading. In babypips.com you will learn How to Calculate Pivot Points. This is really helpful if you know how to platten a graph of price and find your support and resistance level.

There are a lot of forums out there that can help you learn on cryptocurrencies and how the market works, Even in this forum I can see people giving their ideas and knowledge here for free. But if you have the money or connection, Then i would suggest if you have your own mentor teach you about Cryptocurrencies.

There are many ways to learn Technical Analysis for crypto, the easiest way to use the Google search engine. Can also learn from social media,
now many groups have opened Technical Analysis training. Can also learn from the YouTube platform, or can also follow a seminar on cryptocurrency.
If you have a cryptocurrency community, you can start learning from there. Just choose one that is comfortable for you.
You could also use trading itself in my opinion because when real money is involved all the analysis will be applied and you will not be half-assed about it because you will experience real loss, you might want to be sure what you are doing because this involves real money, the risk is high but the reward is bigger because you eventually learn along the way and if you are a lucky newbie then you might also earn along the way.
I agree that you would learn a lot more by trading yourself but you are replying to a completely different question actually. I mean the OP asked for how we can learn about technical analysis that is how to know the structure of the coin like the scalability, functioning and other important aspects.

In my opinion the best way to learn technical aspects is actually first read their whitepaper and understand the structure and how they are proceeding with their project, in my investing experience of a few years I am so good now that a copied or forced whitepaper is just peanuts to detect for me and I never invest in a project where I do not see the commitment from team and a copied whitepaper is just the proof of how lazy they must be.

Another thing you can do is to read about their team and learn about their experience and past projects while sometimes you can learn a lot by reading some articles on medium and other sources.

Actually not the best way, but one option that can be chosen depends on your own abilities. Hiring a trusted and professional mentor in the science of trading analysis will indeed make you learn directly and at the same time practice the science of analysis directly in front of your mentor. But the issue of costs that must be spent will also be more if you do the private class. There is a cheaper option, which is by attending a seminar / special trading class which is only open for a few participants. This will save more on your expenses.

It all depends on how we learn and understand the knowledge we receive. Nothing is instant, everything needs a process.
the seminar wasn't very good, but the special trading class was a good choice...
if we only attend the seminar, we cannot freely ask the seminar speaker because in the field things often happen that are not explained by the speaker. special trading class is first which is good IMO because we can ask personally with those who teach us but at the beginning of joining we must submit it first.

You can check out this list and see whether one catches your eye. You can also lookup a few guides on the site itself (Investopedia) about the various terminologies you need to understand as well as various sites you might be able to use for TA's. Lastly, you can also look up on Youtube (or any other site that gives videos of people doing TA's) and try to see how they do it. Ofc, this isn't really reliable since they might just be speaking gibberish, but you can nonetheless try. Just don't take their word for it 100%.
Investopedia must be a great resources for all the trading aspirants to get start with for the people like OP. OP is sounding like not compete new to trading but seems new to technical analysis; the best part of OP is he is not asking about how to start crypto trading but they are concerned about technical analysis part of crypto trading. For the people who knows the basics of trading then next step must be learning about the methodology of trading which includes strategy of technical analysis along with money management principles.

After investorpedia, I like to recommend youtube videos. They are really awesome to explain us like a real life mentor. But the problem is finding out right videos/channels. I am not going to mention any youtube channels here but people like OP must take time to find the right one according to their English level; also local language video tutorials are also available nowadays to make us studying more effective and in quicker timeframe.

Agree! You can look for tutorial videos on Youtube to learn the fundamental skills and knowledge about the market. Then you can continue studying Trading Analysis such as Chart analysis, Trend analysis, etc. However, I suggest you register for a formal online course. The reason is that they have specific plans that walk you through the process of learning!

Hello there,

I want to learn about Technical Analysis. Can you recommend some online courses and books?

Many thanks.  Wink

There are some Youtube influencers out there who are more on technical analysis in various cryptocurrencies. For sure, you can start with them. However, if you are definitely looking for some online courses to start with, I would definitely recommend NewsCrypto.

From there, you can learn from A to Z about cryptocurrency trading (especially technical analysis) plus state-of-the-art trading tools for just a small monthly subscription price. You can also check out TraderCobb, Udemy and Trading Heroes as well for lessons in technical analysis for cryptocurrency trading.

I don't take loans, ask for sig if I ever do.
There are sites that let you perform simulation of TA's. You can try them out and I believe that you can learn either from stocks or Cryptos. In the end, it's the process that counts, and what your studying shouldn't really affect the progress that much.

You can check out this list and see whether one catches your eye. You can also lookup a few guides on the site itself (Investopedia) about the various terminologies you need to understand as well as various sites you might be able to use for TA's. And actually there are many more. Youtube and this forum helps me a lot to improve my understandings about technical analysis. Everything is possible if we have a patience to learn what we are aiming for.

You can search by using google and you will find a lot of article/blog which can help you to learn technical analyst to trade. But don't be strange if you get many articles about trading forex because it is the same when you trade in crypto currency, I mean you can learn the strategy and you can apply it in crypto trading.
There have been a lot of articles, blogs, reviews on a certain way to create a technical analysis, I've read some of it and it is quite useful, however, in times like this where the uncertainty is certain technical analysis will give you less than you expected, in short I don't think technical analysis is a enough to go engage with the market according to what you have read or watched. Cryptocurrency in general is volatile, most are decentralized and I don't think patterns works these days, I'm not so sure about technical analysis really, it might lead you to such a great losses.

Also, you can learn it from the youtube channel, I get used to using some youtube channel to compare my analyst and other people analyst. It can help you to make a decision or make you confident about your trading strategy or your technical analyst. There is no obstacle for you to start trading and learning it until you find what you want as long as you keep try and try although you find a lose for the first time you trade.
And then here it goes, the widely known source of trading knowledge, youtube. I must admit, I've watch some videos on youtube on how to gain/profit but I must confess, it's not always working. So it is really better to do things on your own. Research is the key!

babypips and investopedia
Some exchanges have practise areas where no real money is involved.
But frankly it's all voodoo for 99% of people, so please be very sceptical.
If it worked everyone would do it. So it couldn't work.

Babypips is really suitable for a trader no matter if you are a beginner or a professional. There are a lot of ideas, information and techniques there that you can use as you try to start trading. Most of the essential things in trading are experience, practice and application.

Learning trading is not enough, you should master it and grow from it so that you will become better and better in any transaction that you are doing.

Technical Analysis is one of the most important thing that you perform first if you want to engage in trading. This will help you understand how trading works and improve the strength and effectiveness of the strategies that you are going to make. But the best thing in technical analysis is that it can make your good decision making better.

There is nothing you paid for that is not available for free, it all depends on your ability to search and filter away the noise. Google will definitely be your best friend. This is the first thing to do before jumping into trading cryptocurrencies but the reverse is the case for more than 80%.

In addition to watching trading videos, reading ebooks, learning how to trade with both fundamental and technical analysis are the main tool in your arsenal having done with those stuffs,  you will start demo trading ie stimulating a trade via some of the aforementioned platforms so that you can be well prepare to deal with your emotion and psychology when you go live, of course practicing or demoing is a different ball game compared to live trading due to fear and other factors.

Since I have mentioned about these sources in detail in such topics before, I do not want to write a detailed message here again, but I would like to make some resource suggestions to help you. Some resources you can use;

- Google and other search engines
- Free articles
- Paid or Free Youtube Video Trainings
- Forex Analysis Channels, Websites and Articles

Also, I want to give you one last piece of advice. Individuals who do not have the trouble of research do not make money even if they have technical analysis knowledge because money markets are always a place that requires follow-up and you need to improve yourself. For this reason, I do not think that someone who cannot learn such a simple subject by researching can make money after learning technical analysis. My goal is not to humiliate you, but only to warn and advise.

There are lots of places online where you can learn about technical analysis in cryptocurrency trading.. I will recommend that you check out the guys at Udemy, there is a course there that teaches about technical analysis in trading, they teach you everything you have to know about it from A to Z, though it’s not for free; the course there is around $199.99 and if you’re lucky you might be getting up to 90% discount when you sign up.

If you don’t want to make use of Udemy, you can just be checking out some websites that provides free contents and be picking up some points till you have gathered every knowledge you need. You can check out Medium.com, and also YouTube videos, since they are practical.

Follow up the videos of this channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/tradingwithrayner  You will surely learn a lot. It might be particularly talks about other markets but when it comes to technicals then its just on the same aspect and just like what others do say where babypips and investopedia is also a good place for you to start up specially when you are really starting from scratch. Just some tip, it might be easy to understand
but you should practice these skills neither on a demo platform or via on real account with small amounts. Learning trading cant really be done on just 1 day. This would take years of trial and error.

when you start learning how to use indicator in one pair, you eventually want to add another to see if you can figure out where the price go in the next few hours. it can be a fun game for yourself for confirmation that you already knew how it works. but it doesn't guarantee you win all the time.

I have some books which are really helpful if you do want to learn Technical analysis seriously:

- Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques: book for the candlestick, understand some patterns as well as how to use them in trading. This is basic and easy to read
- Price Action Breakdown: Exclusive Price Action Trading Approach to Financial Markets: having knowledge about supply and demand is really important, especially when we are trading with decentralized coins in which we can see the volumes and the volatility. This book gives you a new way to look at charts, prices, and patterns

There are some other books but I think it is not really necessary right now. You will find yourself new books once you join the world of trader.

Learn technical analysis for cryptocurrency can be obtained from anywhere, just how do you learn and can understand the technical science of analysis. For example, there are currently many telegram groups that discuss technical analysis with all the details and lots of youtube learning videos that can be obtained free of charge. After that, it's just how you practice it on every trade you make. the practice is very important to continue to hone their technical knowledge. You will find the right strategy that suits you.
joining a telegram group discussing cryptocurrency trading analysis is one way...
many telegram analysis groups of cryptocurrency trading in circulation, not all of you can follow. You can also join a paid telegram group but the risk of being deceived is very large and not recommended. the best way IMO is to find a trusted mentor, you can pay for it personally and meet the person directly without fear of being deceived.

I tried to used those platform before but I really don't settled with that. I used investopedia to become more aware about the risks in trading and how to go your investments. Trading is not that easy to do especially that it requires a good technical analysis in the market. Maybe, some of us are wondering how people are getting more effective in trading.

For me, you need to have an experience and always improve and practice your technical analysis in each and every transaction that you do. You can use trading simulators to know how technical analysis helps your trading and how trading works in reality. But for me, to become professional in trading, help your self grow by improving your strategies, speculations and technical analysis in the market.

First, bitcoin trading is no different then any other trading market like stocks/forex and the same rules applies for it as well, it's just more volatile than the other markets.

Second, don't trade before you learn the main rules how to analyze the market. Your first read should be this book :
John J Murphy - Technical Analysis Of The Financial Markets It's like the holy book of the TA.
When you read the whole thing you can start charting different situation and outcomes.
Perfect place used to be www.tradingview.com to draw your charts, test different strategies it was free, i guess it's still free.

Use a demo trading platforms never use real money at the beginning. I used a lot MetaTrader 10 years ago I had some strategies for the Forex markets as I said it's the same as bitcoin. There should be better places to try, someone can give you advice for trading platforms with demo money. I have no time for this anymore, and sure no patience.

When you have gain knowledge and confidence, then you can go to youtube to find more strategies.
DON'T INVEST MORE THAN YOU CAN LOOSE. This is the main rule. Everything you put in crypto, just consider it gone!
My main rule, make a profit slowly and when you double your investment, take out what you have invested. If anything goes wrong you are on 0 at the end.

You need to be very disciplined, always have a plan B in case things go wrong so you reduce your loss. Don't be greedy, you'll end up broke.

People think this is a game and playing it recklessly ending up loosing even their homes. If you think trading is like gambling you are doing it wrong!

This information is really very useful and interesting.  And thank you very much.  it's over, I was looking for good trading simulators, so that using my tablet, the android operating system, I could usefully spend my free time far from the computer and learn how.  at first I wanted to use the demo version of Bitsgap, but it will most likely be very useful for a computer user, because the Android system does not read it properly.  If you take altcoinfantasy for example, then this is a kind of game that I could not understand.  At least I did not try too hard because I did not like the interface itself.  But coinmarketGame is more or less suitable for a person who does not understand anything at all in trading.  I had virtual $ 20,000 on my balance.  I bought a Cardano coin for $ 19980 and after an hour and a half, there was already $ 20,850 on my balance.  I also bought iota and stellar for virtual funds, but only with a smaller volume, but Cardano gave me the best result.  And in the end, I was surprised that I earned $ 850 for a half.  Roll Eyes But something, I too doubt that when investing real money on some exchange, I will get the same results.  Grin

There are tons of tutorials online, I would advise to just choose one though, so that it won't get complicated or no information overload on your part. Best of luck.
That is very important. Everyone should also know their limitation because experts never have a lot of strategy in trading, they'll stick into strategies that they saw it was more effective and ignore the others.

@OP, a lot of suggestions above. You can try them all and apply them in a real scenario to find which one will give you the most and master it because you can't have them all and work perfectly that is why you only need to choose one or two to have a better result.

Investopedia and TradingView are the two great ones, not saying that you will be great at trading the moment you study them but at least you would be basically doing the best you can, would that be enough or not but we are talking about being a better yourself and that is what it counts.

TradingView is what you can use to learn and watch the other traders and you would basically be seeing the good traders doing it and you can copy it and maybe one day you could be like them if you could watch them. Like I said this is not really a bad day but it is the perfect way neither, it is only a small time better method.

Investopedia on the other hand is great for not just TA but you can learn everything for stock market as well, I have been using it for that for 10 years now.

Undoubtedly, you said absolutely right, on the Internet there is a lot of information on how to carry out technical analysis of cryptocurrencies and how to learn how to trade, especially YouTube channels are popular among newcomers.  I also use valuable tips and information for training from this resource, But the main problem is to find a professional teacher, and not to listen to someone who voices empty phrases in which he himself does not understand anything.  I had no results for a very long time, until I really found what I needed.  It is very important for a beginner to get the right information in an understandable format from the very beginning.

But i will recommend a channel where you can all of your answer about technical analysis for crypto currency. I used to see this channel when i was a beginner too. Good luck.

Some exchanges have practise areas where no real money is involved.
But frankly it's all voodoo for 99% of people, so please be very sceptical.
If it worked everyone would do it. So it couldn't work.

You can use it as part of a strategy and adapt it to help spot obscure patterns others wont... Even though it doesn't work if you follow what the mainstream will be looking at, sometimes a small sentiment or psychological analysis can come in handy when picking when to invest/withdraw from a trading position.

How about learning which indictors you wanna use because it's usually what it is for technical analysis. Learning how to use Macd to identify where the market's direction is after a few days would help you for analysis and this has to be accompanied by more indicators too. The commonly used indicator is the RSI and learning the moving averages will get you more technical.

Learn just 3 indicators first, the free account in tradingview allows you to have 3.

Farewell o_e_l_e_o
The thread was created in wrong board. You can move it to either Beginners & Help or Trading discussion. Use "move topic" at the bottom left corner.

You can find the book, namely A complete guide to Volume Price analysis in the thread [RESOURCES] Free bitcoin/blockchain/finance eBook.. Honestly, I did not read that book but it was given to download in that thread and the book title looks good.

From my experience, volume is the vital part of any technical analysis. It makes one analysis is good or bad. It is terrible if anyone make a technical analysis without attention on volume movements. Addtionally, remember that technical indicators can only be used if what you trade and want to analyze has high volume.

We all have access to search engines, on Google and also here. You can input your description of what you need on the   search engine and if you find something interesting and would want to no more about it like if its authentic or who recommends it. Then you can bring it here.
Self research is quite good you know
