Thanks all for helping! Smiley

I think I've figured it out: we are paying in Bitcoin indeed, so I'll give it a try in marketplace -> gambling -> games & rounds

Hi folks!

Checked the Altcoins > Bounties thread rules and came to conclusion that our 10 day contest won't be allowed there as a 'low effort' one.
You are mistaken. Low effort posts are not allowed in the altcoin subs. This includes both making low effort posts, giving incentives for people to post about doing low effort tasks, and for people to post low effort posts in your thread.

The only types of threads in the altcoin -> bounties sub are those requiring 'high effort' (or not-low effort) posts. This may include a confirmation/proof that a 'high effort' task was completed off the forum.

If you are paying anything except bitcoin, you should post your thread in altcoin marketplace -> bounties. If you are paying bitcoin, you should post in marketplace -> gambling -> games & rounds

References:
You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc.
Accepting signups or requiring proof of participation for tasks requiring substantial effort (e.g. signature campaign signups, weekly social media campaign reports, media (videos, images, articles, etc.) bounty signups, etc.) via a thread posted in Bounties (Altcoins) is allowed though.

EDIT: Obviously, participating in such giveaways is prohibited as well.

You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

Most giveaway threads are no longer allowed in the Alternate cryptocurrencies sections. From now on, posting or replying to such threads could result in being banned. Existing threads will be locked.

Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.

Similar threads are already restricted to Games and Rounds in the non-altcoin sections, but the giveaway-related post volume is so high in the altcoin sections that I've decided to just ban them entirely here.

To add to what has been said already: altcoin giveaways aren't the problem, but they can't be on the forum. So if you ask users to fill in a Google form, that's not a problem. But you can't pay people to post for altcoins.

On the Games and Rounds board, it's actually allowed to pay for low-quality posts, as long as you pay in Bitcoin. This can be as low as "pick a number under 5000 and spam for months in a row" before one winner gets picked. I wouldn't recommend that though Smiley

That is "job board"  Grin and this is more like a giveaway.

I would say Games and rounds is appropriate board to do this, at least that is how yahoo62278 did it (It is somehow similar, write "something about..." and "we will pick 3 users" for reward).
I was actually unsure whether it's for services or games & round  Cheesy
They still require a job from participants and that's why I leaned towards the services board.
Since there is a precedent already, I wouldn't argue.

Thanks so much! Will wait for the mod too, if don't hear from them, will give it a try!

With that, I think you can post it in the Services board (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0)

From your blog, it says

Tell us your story and win $30 in BTC!

You are not paying in altcoin but in bitcoin. With that, I think you can post it in the Services board (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0) Maybe you can change the follow, upvote and share requirement to be safe. Just make it optional since the main goal of the giveaway is the story that the participants will share on how they met crypto.

Just my opinion though. Wait for the mod to answer.

Hi folks!

Checked the Altcoins > Bounties thread rules and came to conclusion that our 10 day contest won't be allowed there as a 'low effort' one. We are not an ICO, but a cryptocurrency wallet and would love to get some traction while giving some crypto for a good story  Wink
So in fact all one needs to do in our contest is follow, share and comment a single post.

Is there a thread where we can post it? Checked Bitcointalk rules and threads and looks like I failed to find it  Cry

Please advise.
