I don't trust that site anymore and after it was hacked, i stopped bitcoin/altcoin trading

this is the practice which once and for all
but if we don't trade, what should we do??

Trading of bitcoin/altcoin is much beneficial as with that we earn some bigger profit in a short time period, so for that there are a lot of other exchanges also available which are working from longer period and do not have any issue like that.

i never use bitfinex before or after it hacked. i use yobit exchange, i think we have no other option except to use a exchange and i think it is a part of life just like in real life when a band robbed and all the money of the people taken away, i can hope that next time we will not face such kind of situation again.
I use yobit too have haven’t ever been worried about losing my bitcoin or the company being hacked. I think any company is vulnerable thought but since the recent hack I bet all the major companies are doubling down on cyber security.

Exchanges stating that they are upping their security basically admit that their security wasn't top notch at all. And exactly that is a very worrying thing. Beside the fact that the security of an exchange holding people's funds must be at the highest levels at all times, people must also realize the scenario of the exchange operators committing thefts. Especially when it's very easy to become filthy rich in a very short time when it's concerning a major exchange. People go nuts when they deal with large numbers.

after bitfinex down/hacked/stolen, not sure whether it is also an inside job, but I am frightened

when I see the volume of btc/usd, https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/#markets

LakeBTC, CoinBase(GDAX), and Bitstamp are the biggest three, Bitstamp I have known much, they were also down/hacked/stolen last year, and also lost tens of thousands of Bitcoin from customers; LakeBTC I have also known much, their withdrawal are not very good in fee and speed, although the deposit is free and fast.

so could anyone introduce a better exchange to do btc/usd trading? or share you experience on LakeBTC, CoinBase, and Bitstamp.

any experience will be grtaeful, thanx firstly
Let's strike through the bitstamp and lake btc because like your said is showing you is already not having any intention for visiting or using them.
but in this time i think the good place is a poloniex but it's for my personality. and the second is a bittrex. i think you must choose one of the exchange site between coinbase, polo and bittrex. i think the three is having a good result from their user's feedback.

Currently I am only on Yobit and investing on those altcoins, which I come to know that this coin is going to multiple thousands percent, and after that when I will have a bigger amount of capital I will start to trade to bigger exchanges.

and Luckily I do not have any account on bitfinex.

Traders keep their funds secure by spreading them on different exchanges like cex.io, kraken, bittrex, poloniex etc. Yobit might not be the only exchange he uses.

It might be safe for short time. but the thing I'm sure won't last long in time, because I see all the trading sites would not survive if they already don't have customers or they do not provide specific safeguards against heat wallet they had. So keep your main money into personal wallet

That ain't secure, that's preventing total destruction by betting not everyone'll go down at the same time.

If you want usd and margin there ain't mamy options. Btce, maybe bitmex and I'm not sure where else. That's why bitfinex is gonna be back no matter what weirdness they pull.

I do not trade anywhere, but all my savings are on Yobit now. That is the same kind exchanger as Bitfinex and others. After the story with Bitfinex I am thinking to cash out my money, just waiting for the course of bitcoin will grow, at least on the same level like it was before Bitfinex hacking.

what? you are thinking to cash out all your savings from yobit? you shouldn't be thinking, you should act now and get your coins back to your own wallet. i don't even know why you still haven't done it once you heard bitfinex is hacked. isn't that reason enough to move your coins away from exchanges directly?

Well, this time I was resting on the trading BTC / usd. Well, so much work in the real world so I have been forced to leave the business. but I will be back trading, despite the adverse effects caused by bitfinex. yeah, but I think it will never dampen the spirits of traders
Did you lose any bitcoins in the process ? If yes,how much ? As long as stuff is digitally done,it will always be prone to vulnerabilities.Someone people just want to watch the world burn. Its completely fault of the platform of your choice to not care about those vulnerabilities.I'd guess bitfinex should refund their customers and continue with the site.

All I know is that I know nothing.
Actually I never heard and try bitfinex before it will hacked, there is more good exchanger there just be alert always and don't put all your money with only one exchanger. so if the times come that other exchange hacked too like what happened to bitfinex  you always prepared, by the way I'm not trade  btc to usd there is a lot more good to trade in exchanger ,you can find it there is much more good to trade than usd I also trade btc to my local currency of course.

that is because you have never been a trader, or at least you haven't been trading bitcoin/fiat pair that much.
if you did you would have known one of the biggest bitcoin exchanges out there with a very large volume.

Same as always: btc-e.com

They raised the trollbox price to 1000$ and i am mad about it but i guess i can live without trollbox. Since I use them for 3 years without a problem... That doesn't mean they are immune to hackers tho. They may be the next target who knows... Just withdraw your money when you reach a certain amount and you will be fine. Tbh, I wouldn't hold more than 1000$ there.

We actually need decentralized trading platform to be fully secured from hacking and fee issues but till date no any large volume platform has been created but i know about bitsquare which is in operation and also updating regurarly but with low volume.

But for now, Better to put your bitcoin in different exchanger rather than all in one exchanger to minimize the loss in case of similar hack event in future.

Thanks for the attention, but LakeBTC is the only one exchange which has not been stolen/hacked, we take security seriously with user' funds, every withdrawal request will be separately audited by two staff on LakeBTC, including BTC withdrawal.

When you speak of exchanges, you don't really have to rely on the fact they're a bank and your wallet is a savings account.Even though they function the same,it's very likely they can steal your coins whenever the want to.Keeping all your money in an exchange wallet is simply against the bitcoin rules.By far the most safest trading I have come across is LBC ,localbitcoins, their services are cloudfliare which dynamically reduces 70% of the attack chances.I'm surprised you have never traded there.BItfinex does seem like an inside job since finding the exploits starts with an employee passing confidential information to third party.

LB's price is pretty bad, and its trading is not real time, usually you have to complete one trade with one person, then you can start another trade with another person.

LocalBitcoins is not an exchanger it is a public place that people meet to buy or sell bitcoin with each other. in order to trade bitcoin/usd as a day-trader you need an exchange site like bitfinex that went down.

the replacement can be bitstamp, kraken, c-cex but they also have the same risks. i currently use btc-e

people that were using bitfinex as their main exchange should hop over to bitstamp or kraken. very reputable and trusted exchanges. i just hope people will not continue using bitfinex after they messed up big time. losing that many coins is seriously unforgivable.

I guess bittrex and poloniex is a good place to trade. I always trading at the site before, but once I get to know bittrex and poloniex, I so rarely play in bitfinex. however, I think so many people are playing on bittrex and poloniex and it is a site that is easy to understand for a beginner like me, so all was fine.

problem with buying btc on exchanges using usd is that you will have to disclose information. But there are lots of place to trade btc/usd, recently i encounter a service such as btc2bid, they even held a signature campaign here in bitcointalk lately.  its almost like localbitcoin is just one as well.

If you wanna trade BTC/Altcoins, I'd definitely suggest Bittrex. Pretty good user interface and way way better than YoBit. Used it a lot of times for Ethereum/Ethereum Classic/etc and have become an addict of their trading system.

Bitfinex are like cockroaches. They'll do their very best to be back. And I'm sure the traders on there who are currently squealing will be back too.

People should vote with their money and get on exchanges that might actually be accountable and properly insured and operated by real adults. That means Gemini and Itbit.

i am trading in poloniex, bittrex, yobit, and i think polo is good with many altcoins, btc-usd tether, and the market on polo was a big amount. in bittrex, i only trade btc-altcoin, in yobit i trade small coins which already launch and gets pump high  Grin

i think for me polo was a good idea to trade btc-usdt, you can try it if you can.
Like me, I using some trading site, but maybe yobit has become my main exchange in this time, and I using another site become a stepping stone for me to seeing the situation in another trading place and rotate my amount.

I did not use bitfinex that often so this hasn't affected me alot but I use bitmex, this is great if you don't actually want to buy usd or Bitcoin and just anticipate a rise in price, they offer a 100x leverage so high amounts can be made from small price changes.
