Not sure why I assumed you nerds couldn't just give a direct answer... Anyways you put the bootstrap.dat file in the following directories based on your O/S
C:\Users\YourUserName\Appdata\Roaming\Bitcoin <--- Windows
~/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin/ <--MAC

1. Go to bitcoin-qt folder
2. Put bootstrap.dat at folder named "data"
3. Open bitcoin-qt application
4. Wait for bitcoin-qt finished read bootstrap.dat
