I think this is his profile https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=78860, can some DT members tag this account, his account is not active yet he deserves the tag, i have not heard about his case but heard about many scam in India and even in google i cannot find anything about him.

@OP is there a legal case against him and if so what is the situation, it is possible that he is having political connections to pull off scams like these, anyone here from Gujarat to follow up the case.

Public memory is ephemeral. Thus it is important to keep updating information about scammers from time to time. What OP did is a good thing. There is no point in objecting the OP about the motif behind starting the thread about somewhat old scam. Online scammers or for that matter scammers in general never stop scamming people, On the contrary they may go in hibernation till public attention gets diverted to something else.
Good Job OP.

~snip

His last known location was Mauritius. There is chance that he will create some Alt in BitcoinTalk and scam more people with some new con. Its worth to know what he is up to now.
This is the reason why we should rather focus on educating people enough to detect and avoid such scams.
There might many scammers like this person and tracking each of them will be very time consuming and of no use.
But just imagine if we find a way to teach people to detect and avoid such scams then not only people will not get scammed but they will also teach many others to avoid such scams.
This is why I said that our focus should be on the bigger side of this situation.

And why does it matter where he is right now ?
I have already explained that why in a post above yours.

He was a scammer and was probably arrested (not sure though)
He received ED notice but was never arrested.

Anyway, where he is right now shouldn't be the consideration instead we should consider spreading instructions about how to avoid such scams.

I heard there are quiet a few investigations going on in Gujarat relating to bitcoin scams, bribery and corruption involving senior people.
Were u referring to this - https://www.dnaindia.com/ahmedabad/report-bitcoin-case-remand-ends-bjp-mla-nalin-kotadiya-sent-to-judicial-custody-2664432 ?

Why are you digging up a year old thread to report an article that is already 5 months old?
I would request people to ONLY post replies when they have something relevant and fresh information available that is related to the original topic of the post.

Scammers of Indian Crypto space should neither be spared, nor forgotten.

Guys dont trust anyone, just because they look senior or aged or they have their selfies attending various blockchain events, they might be fake like themselves

Does anyone remember erstwhile Bitcoin Ponzi scammer from Ahmedabad, named Nilam Doctor, who ran the rbitco.in aka Real Bitcoin ponzi scam?

I remember him all too well.
He even went to many events and meetups. I couldn't believe such a senior looking guy could actually be a "scammer" .. really he changed the whole perspective I had towards that word.
