ha my first account got pretty much deactivated ... or something ... because I spent so long looking for the start thread button but failed and went to bed.

Nah, it's an opinion and it's childish. I know children 6 years old with more patience than that.
There is no reason to "make pointless responses to other peoples threads". You can participate in intelligent useful discussion in the Newbie Forum just like you can in any other section.
