Nobody knows do they. Better to invest small amounts of money at different price points. e.g put 10% of your allocated amount in and then another 10% if it dips more.

My advise is that you divided the money into three parts. The first part can be used to purchase BTC at the dip and hold it until the bearish market is over. The second part can be used to purchase to buy altcoins. You can buy ethereum and other altcoins that you have researched. Buy the dip of the altcoins and wait to sell high. Lastly, you can invest the third part in ICO. Investing into the private sale or presale of good ICOs, will enable you to get their tokens cheaply.

With the recent bearish of crypto currencies especially btc, where can one invest into? Currently I intended to invest up to $16k. Should l put it on btc or go for alt coin? If it is alt coin, on what stage should I invest? Should be during ICO's or already established alt coins I.e the alt coin that is on coinmarketcap.
Secondly if I'm to invest during ICO, at what stage should I invest? After pre sale, crowd sale, or when it's about to be listed on exchange.

As much as possible spread your portfolio, you can choose to invest 50% of your funds on the top 3 5 coins in the market and on Ico go for pre sale where they offer a high percentage of bonus for purchase, but be very careful in picking a coin to invest ICO is very saturated.

as of now, it is much better to invest in btc than altcoin, because if the market goes down, your loss will be double, because if bitcoin is down, every crypto will go down for sure.

No one can give you an accurate answer regarding this matter since this market is extremely volatile which is prone to the slightest of human emotion and an coin or token can rise or fall rapidly due to a particular reason which is why you need to do your research and decide what is best for you. I usually tend to invest after the pre-sale since that gives me an idea as to how the ICO might perform in the near future.

I think that if you do not understand this, it's better to invest only in BTC and only in parts. In the beginning it is better to study the market, understand how everything works and only then invest. Better not rush, lose money you always have time.
I also think if you do not understand the market yet, invest in bitcoin and ether or another option: you can to wait and for the start you need to understand the market befor you can to invest in Ico.

In ICOs, I invest only at the pre-sale stage, with a bonus of at least 40-50%. So you can at least something to earn.

Having a capital of $16k is a huge amount for me, If I do have the same amount in my pocket, I will immediately half of it to Bitcoin and the other half for Ethereum. It is a good time to buy now, Bitcoin and Ethereum are now at very low value, so expecting to a spike in Q4, it gonna be a nice catch.

$16k worth of investment is such a risk specially if you are not that familiar how trading in cryptocurrency works. If you are planning to hold your crypto investment for a long time or over a year, my first advise for you is to buy your own hard wallet to protect your funds against hackers. I would suggest investing to an altcoin that already built a strong reputation like BTC, ETH, RIPPLE and LTC. You may invest to an ICO since lots of bonuses are being offered during presale or private sale but I would suggest investing only 5% to 10% to an ICO if you are just a newbie in crypto investment.

Why not splitting those amount of yours ? Analytics saying good raise of prices again by the end of July-beginning of August, BTC and other huge alts are going to be a good choice to invest in. In terms of altcoin I would choose ETH.
At first many said that coming this July the price will rise up again and it will be the beginning of bullish market, but still we are not seeing clear path for bullish and now you are saying that it can possibly happen this coming august, oh well if OP is too serious to invest better to take more time researching and understanding the flow of the market before starting to invest with his money.

I would have invested your money in Bitcoin or at least Ethereum in your place. I find that most altcoins are very unreliable compared to them. But this is just my opinion.

if you are a beginner you can divide up to a few percent in bitcoin and altcoin, maybe if you put in bitcoin the risk of loss will be a bit and it can surely be made as a good saving asset. besides that if choosing in altcoin may be a lot of choices of coins are diverse and varying prices this will be more difficult for beginners. so I think the bitcoin is the right choice and wait for the price to go up.

If you really have enough capital you should not hesitate to invest in bitcoin. And investing in pre sale is better because when entering the market the price of coin is always high.
Or wait until price will go down and finally Bitcoin find the bottom right? But who knows where is the bottom and what is the price for which HODLers will not sell?

You should study first the market before putting your money and determine the risk in every coins you want to invest. Knowledge is more important in dealing with volatile market. Investing your $16k is a huge amount of money and this can make advantage on those coins that has solid products and strong community support.

In bitcoin, you must invest more than 40% of the money you want to invest in the crypto currency. In ethereum, I advise investing about 20%. And the rest of your funds, you can invest in ICO projects in which Token Sale is already ending and which have already collected almost the entire planned amount.

If I were in your shoes, I wont invest everything in one thing, I will split it between Bi Ethereum and altcoins. If I have to invest in ICO it will be in the early stage, during private sale or presale.
You're 100 correct about the OP splitting his/her investment because the amount he/she is planning to invest big amount of $$. However, it important to be caution when planning to invest into cryptotcurrency most coin dont have the utility to survive the market and i will advice to OP  to go for long existing coin with good historical data and future promising ICO like MozoCoin.

If You are not a trader and want to invest I would divide into 3 parts: 1/3 invest in BTC. 1/3 in ETH and for
the rest find a promising ICO in early stage ( private sale with high bonus ). Make Your research on ICO
and if You invest in good moment  You can make profit and will always have exit strategy as well if You want to invest elsewhere.

I'd park those 16k in Tether and wait and see how a bull trend confirmation to go in the market. I'd buy 30% BTc, 20% ETH, leave 20% for some hyped ICOs with strong communities and I'd go for blockchain projects, lastly I'd go 25% sub 200 to 5 MM projects, NEXO, SS, UBT and 5 % in some microcaps.

With the exchange rate in the current downtrend, investment in BTC and ETH is the best choice for long-term investment. You should invest in BTC and ETH at low exchange rates then hold for at least 2 years to make a high profit. With the current exchange rate situation, short-term investment is no longer effective but should be the long-term investment.

It seems that traders have hold the level 6000$ BTC and it is a positive signal so you can take a look at BTC and ETH because now they are quite attractive to buy as well as you can choose any altcoin but before you make a choice you should make a complete investigation to figure out the potential of the altcoin.

I will say to invest in the bitcoin even though the market is bearish the price is down. You will have to analyze the events like an expert or specialist. Since the market is bearish, this is also an opportunity to have huge profit in future because the price will rise at the end of the year.

With the recent bearish of crypto currencies especially btc, where can one invest into? Currently I intended to invest up to $16k. Should l put it on btc or go for alt coin? Bitcoin and Ethereum are very cheap. If it does not go on both, at least some of your total capital. And for Altcoin, I think the situation is pretty much the same. Maybe by choosing some of the Top20 coinmarketcap will have almost the same potential, especially this year. For ico, it seems that fewer today will achieve success, but a truly unique and useful project will certainly get support.

Indeed the market is not in the best position, maybe even the opposite. But this is too long, and if no one starts, then the market will not get back fast.
So I think it's not too hard to buy coins at the moment, especially on first layer crypto. And for the first purchase, I think it's a pretty stable place to stay.

This seems an opportunity, especially for Altcoin global. Coins such as Ether, Ripple, Trx, Eos are likely to be in the lower limit range, so although it may not immediately increase, at least will provide benefits until the end of this year.

It seems that it is an ideal amount of capital, and would be great if it is divided into several levels of risk. Of course Bitcoin is the first place to stay, because I believe this time, all famous altcoins have a correlation with Bitcoin. Perhaps the second layer will be filled by some altcoins with moderate market capitalization, and a small portion of ico will complement your portfolio.

Investment in altcoin during ICO, Watch ico who give pre-sale bonus, because at this time they will give bonus for the buyer. Because, most likely ico coin will rise when first enter the market.

Maybe with 16k, you can go at some level of risk on crypto. For global coins I think you already know where to go, and for the bigger potential, it seems like starting a newly released altcoin will be a great business right now, because if market capitalization returns, good coins will grow considerably.

I recommend you to invest in some established altcoins, here some you can invest safely from the top of my head

Cardano - Perhaps ETH 2.0 (or Blockchain 3.0) but still a gamble

Stellar - Partnered with IBM, definitely a good purchase.

IOTA - Could be huge, good partnerships but how it plays out short term/long term could be poked full of security concerns.

TRON - garbage

NEO - Good buy-- ECO system starting to fill out, moving towards decentralized. NEP-5 tokens (based on NEO) are a good buy as well.

DASH - Room to grow, but not sure long play pans out

Monero - Good privacy coin-- needs to provide a clear roadmap for how privacy within all Blockchain space / spend, save and store works.

stay on where the place you think its safe, i mean the price of bitcoin is drastically dropping, meaning it is the good time to buy/invest bitcoin and hold for long. in your case, $16k is too much to invest in crypto, i suggest you to divide it into 3 (your capital) then first half buy/invest it on bitcoin, the second half is for altcoins that has a potential to grow in the future like, ethereum, NEO, ADA, MONERO, atleast it is listed on top 10 leading altcoins in the market. and last part, the 3rd half of your capital is for ICO. choose the better one, i admit that its really hard to find a good ICO now, so you better watch it out. if you already choose one, invest your capital at the very beginning of the ICO to get some Bonuses or discounts before the crowd sale begins, it can gives/generates you a good profits in the future.

allocate only a portion in the bitcoin and partly for some altcoin. I think it's more effective than just on bitcoin nor altcoin only. for ICO is pretty good but too dangerous to see the large number of ICO investment scam that continues to appear every time.

I think invest enough dibitcoin in the long run. or invest in a truly trusted altcoin like ethereum. this will be enough to provide comfort and provide benefits for the long term.

I guess the type of risk your willing to take will be where you should invest, if you don't want any risk I would get out of crypto completely if your looking for a less risky investment (relative to crypto) I would stick with some of the top coins btc eth ltc etc. etc. If you want to take more of a gamble and look for really big gains I would go for low marketcap coins. I personally like deeponion, stipend, kore and a few others. But I have coins in all spectrum's of the market low and high risk Smiley

theres no more safer than established coins, ofcourse bitcoin and ethereum is the most competent for all of coins but the top 10 is also remarkable on their movements as they have been on the lower position in the past but as the team pursues now they are established and still growing to goodness

Pick some in the top tier and cost average into them, buy so much every week, divide your amount into something like 10 -20 or more piles and invest a little every week.

If i am to invest , i will invest and diverse my money in altcoins , specially i will invest my money in etherium , because i believe that etherium in the future will rise , just like bitcoin and we all know that etherium is secondly to bitcoin when it comes in gaining profits , because etherium is like bitcoin in a long term and long term investments.

I suggest that you invest in mainstream coins, such as BTC, ETH, NEO, EOS, etc. Now the price is very cheap.

I think for now the safest way for you to invest is on BTC or ETH. Both coins are the parent of the cyrpto currency. If investing in an ICO project might be too risky in my opinion. Although many promising ICO projects, the current conditions seem to make many people doubt about the direction of crypto in the future.

I think you can invest in ICOs whose prices are so low and have the potential to grow, these are what we called devalued coins. For me these devalued coins are better than already established altcoins because they still have the growth potential on the long run.

Now is the perfect  time to buy btc coz the price is very low, and you can also buy different alts and i think you should invest those already popular in the market like ETH,, just hold your trust with patience surely both btc and eth will give you a huge profit,.

My advice for you is that you should try and divide your fund into two. Buy one or two bitcoin with one half and buy about three, four or five different already established altcoin like ethereum, trx, Neo etc. By doing this you increase your chance to make more profit.

I can tell you from my experience. There is no point in buying during the ICO.When tokens are just beginning to listing on the exchange, you can buy them 3 times cheaper than the price during the ICO period. The main thing for you is not to miss this moment

for my investment option is more advised in altcoin and my choice goes to universa (utnp), the altcoin is developing itself and the ever-updating developer team about the altcoin makes UTNP suitable for investment

I can give you some steps about that
The first should be you can try to be patience, no one knows that when the price will be stopped to get the dump and by the way you can try to hold your investment amount until it goes to the bottom and then you can try to rush to buy any major coin such as bitcoin or ethereum.
I suggest you avoid the low tier altcoin or a new platform right now. Without a big hype and it will not help you to get back your money.

I recommend diversify your funds. Dont invest on one coin/token only. For me it a good way to invest on ICO right now because at the end if you pick an ICO that has a lot community and sale is reaching hardcap, thats a good decission. If you invest better check whats ahead of that Project to find the value of the token/coin.

I think you should divide 2 for investment in btc and altcoin, if you spend all capital for btc then you wait until btc price is stable, but if you buy alt maybe you can get profit because of alt price below btc price. But to choose alt, you have to be careful with the price that is not stable, but you can buy alt quantities and if alt it develops then you will get big profit.

If I got that money, I'll invest to bitcoin that's close to having almost 3 BTC or if bitcoin hits $5,000 and you decided to buy bitcoin for all in, it's 3 big BTCs.
If it is alt coin, on what stage should I invest? Should be during ICO's or already established alt coins I.e the alt coin that is on coinmarketcap.

Normally tokens from ICOs are cheaper during it's first stages before it gets listed everywhere except ICO review sites.

I suggest you invest on those altcoins that are already established like ethereum, trx, ada. You can put half on those altcoins and buy at least one or two bitcoins now. See the price of it now is down at $5.9k. And you intended to invest for about $16k. This is the right time to buy and spare those ICOs for now.

I love your interest in crypto investments, I would want to recommend a good investment place for you; https://Nexty.io, this is one the potential investments in the ICO community where you put in your money and go to sleep.
