I guess that the tech is wherever that the creators of the coin are keeping it, they will most definitely have the tech somewhere that they are using to run the coin but other than that it is up to the users. Also miners help to provide processing power needed for  coin anyway

If I were you try to read their whitepaper then some articles that is good for their technology, I mean you keep digging and get some important infos after you get some infos then try to analyze:
What's the purpose of this technology?
How can they resolve the issue about bitcoin?

Is it a vaporware? then how will this tech will change our lives?

The projects have their own tech which they use for the improvement of the coins but after that, the coins is you and I who use the coin. The coin is all of our systems, it is all of the systems that the miners put in so much money into buying in order  to mine it. That is where the tech is, which is what makes cryptos so great, the tech is everywhere.

The new blood are here for the profits without understanding the underlying technology behind it. I'm interested in LISK because they are also starting an academy for newbies to learn more about crypto and blockchain technology. And they will of course be learning about developing javascript DAPPs on the LISK platform

this article just great and is an example for what i am missing here. thanks to twitter I find stuff like this.

The Verge Hack, Explained

Quote
In both cases, this hack presents a strong argument for tending towards sticking to things proven to work and to be wary of overcomplicating things and thereby introducing unnecessary risks when people’s financial assets are involved. Which, I suppose, means two points for team Bitcoin.

Unfortunately, there is little information about the technology behind the altcoins. If you are targeting a particular project, you can enter the project web page and you will find the details you want. All of the projects posted here also have a site I'm referring to here. Unfortunately, there is no forum sorting based on the technologies used in the projects.

Most of the projects are willing to drag their products as far as they can since it means a lot of money with as little work you can do. Its really sad that some projects are collecting a humongous amount of money on ICOs and they still dont have anything to show.

I partly agree with you buddy. The technology behind cryptocurrency is somehow dying. People have now used this platform as the get money soon venture and that is killing many alts. The same thing happened to Bitcoin and has led to the wailing in the market crash (though other factors contributes to the market crash). We need to build projects who really are going to bring innovations. Many ICOs die off even the successful ones.
I said I partly agree because I have joined some ICOs that have really put into action the things they said in the whitepaper. They're really working and making the dream of the ICO come to pass. We need more of such projects to sustain crypto in the future. Anyways before you join any project, perform a good search to know whether their technology would be feasible

Yes, it's really very small nowadays to talk about technology in different coins. If you are interested in technology then you can find out this information on the project site. Just create a topic on the forum about this and I think there you can talk about it.

it has been seen that the interest of the forum community against blockchain technology is less encouraged, on average all more interested in the technique to get profit from crypto itself (I admit that i am too), so we forget the development of crypto technology and its application directly, therefore until now we still have not felt a direct change in the presence of crypto

and how are you all making a investment decision then? a good example is SONM. the tech is being discussed in the ANN-topic. but nobody is writing about it in altcoin discussion. maybe i have to start the topic to get some feedback. because the ANN is often just visited by people that already invested and they just want to "hype" the coin.

a discussion about SONM vs. Golem.
but this one......

On this forum exist a thread about development tools in bitcoin - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=6.0 , if you want to learn something new in blockchain technology you must join in a public group on github. I think that forum created for popularization bitcoin, not for altcoins or something another in information technology because most of people haven't knowledges about development. I guess exist closed threads for technical discussion.

What a irony!!. I just mentioned  their is lot of non-believer in the forum and just caught one.

Perhaps you should start reading the local branches of the forum. I believe that this forum is the best and it is here that you can learn technology, and learn trading, etc. The main thing is that there are many worthy people here.
They usually have some information on there though not everyone that knows the technology of a coin has a profile on here. You may want to visit Telegram as well.

Truly this current wave of money making is creating huge volume of irrelevant information on this forum.  Before registering on this forum, when I search google I always find good tech stuffs here but since I joined,  not much has been seen.
and still on the bitcointalk forum it is still possible to gather a lot of useful and good information than to search for it on the Google search engine. Just need to learn how to select useful information from the slag.

Tech posts are usually in ANNs.  If not detailed, in ANNs should be all links to tech papers or websites where you can find them.

But in general most new tokens have nothing to do with crptyo, decide that they used  ETH token to crowdfund their project with an ICO.  So they have nothing to talk about crypto at all.   You cant avoid that. No matter on what forum you will go, this so called "crypto" projects will be there.

What tech? In this section you can't get a proper answer even from developers of the projects. Altcoins are mostly ERC-20 or some other established platform based, which means they are mainly just copies of another coins and they serve only to raise funds for the project. There are very little coins, with innovative technology behind them.

Another factor, Altcoin Discussion is where Signiture Campaigns for low ranks takes place. We have low motivation for technical knowledge and overloaded schedules, because like it or not, we are here for the money.

But since you're getting bored, why don't you take on your own initiative, and help improving Altcoins section.

This is a normal phenomenon in the modern world, any new technology starts with a small geek community, but if it becomes popular, big money comes, and with them also people who want to make some money on it.

Well of course that people love money we can't deny that. But OP has some point here as many people are simply searching for the money and looking at the surface and this forum begins to have less important information. Even I see many posts that are not relevant enough and many people are simply opening new topics that have existed and still exist on the forum.

For the tech side best is I guess to read from official documents of particular crypto and simply go into discord/telegram groups to have a chat with team members to try and understand the principles behind it etc. You could start by choosing most poplar cryptos and simply go through them if you find it interesting.

I am so glad someone started this thread, because the tedium of the same fruitless queries, repetitive to the core, does lose interest. Blockchain tech is indeed bringing an exciting change to the entire working system as we recognize it today, and to walk into the future without any understanding or interest seems really a dearer loss.

Most of people on this forum are discussing altcoins in terms of their projects' ideas, PR, price changes etc, since, let's face it, there aren't many people who actually understand the tech and can tell the difference between various cryptos in terms of their code. I don't think you'll find a better forum, though.
The tech is discussed only in Bitcoin Development & Technical Discussion board, I guess. You can also try to find interested and knowing people on the Ivory tower childboard if you make the post about tech, I suppose.

Unfortunately, to get acquainted with the technical part of the cryptocurrency world, you have to read official sources, such as a website and white paper. If after acquaintance with these materials you will be interested in the project, I highly recommend that you contact the developers through a Telegram and ask all the questions that interest you there.

Because 90% of them are created just to scam the people only.
For most of the altcoins is , typical roadmap like below.

Complete the sale or ICO to raise XXX amount.
Develop wallet (android , IOS or Windows)
Listing on Exchanges.

Listing on exchange is last target , there is no use case before creating token, It is not there to solve any problem. It is just created for cash grab so how can we can find any technology there.

Even for some old coin, they are struggling with their development, look like it is part time job for them that they do on their whims.

More than half of forum is bounty hunter that want to collect bitcoins in bounty(because bitcoin has gained quite in monetary value) but they themselves do not believe in bitcoin and no interest to learn it.
When they can earn this bounty by just doing shit posting then how you will find them talking of technology?

Edit: I came across with this interesting whitepaper, might you will like it.

LOL,altcoins doesnt have any tech behind it,these are shitcoins that are trying to improve what bitcoin and ethereum has, most of these shitcoins doesnt have new, just like what we have in our android phones, there are less features that are being added ffrom these new altcoins. Most of these projects are scams,as these ICOs are created just to raise millions of dollars.

Each project has an official website, social media accounts, which describes in detail the technology, description of the project and its importance to society. Therefore, I advise you to study the official sources.

I joined this forum a little time ago so I don't know it as good as you but I got the exact same impression when I started reading bitcointalk... It's a pity to have converted such a great idea as cryptocurrency to a "money making machine". The tech behind cryptocurrencies is what attracted me but I feel we are now very far from the original vision. I mostly mine but to be sincere, I tried fork coins and I trade occasionally so I can better understand this crazy crypto world. My conclusion so far is that the community is too much driven by greed and not enough by tech. Hopefully things will calm down.
