you will not really break any rules, the mods will move it if they think it belong to another board, the Alt boards are very limited, many things don't really fit in any of the exiting boards, that's the reason why those alt child boards are very messy, many different categorizes go under the same board, i think even the mods get confused on what should be there.

I understand, thanks for the answer.

Yes, I agree with you that "Alt boards are very limited, many things don't really fit in any of the exiting boards" that's why I asked in the first place as I don't want to go "Off-topic".

Am wondering if service discussion is the right place for what he/she intends to post since he/she clearly stated that it's a sort of tutorial to the project and not the project itself

there will be more than one tutorial and how-tos like (how to install the wallet, how to send coins, how to run a node, etc..)

I believe service discussion (altcoins) or service discussion (if you use BTC) would fit nice.

There is less spam in those boards compared to ANN session, so it would be a better option.

You can read the rules below, which ones you want to use, about services, discussions, or projects.
This can help you, just you choose where you want to go. Good luck.

Before you post, complain about moderation or decide to go on a crusade against the staff, you should read this thread:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/unofficial-list-of-official-bitcointalkorg-rules-guidelines-faq-703657

It outlines general rules, answers some question and overall gives a somewhat good idea of how the staff handle certain things. Feel free to leave suggestions in the linked thread.

Section: Alternate cryptocurrencies

Altcoin Discussion - "Discussion of cryptocurrencies other than Bitcoin. Note that discussion of how these currencies *relate to* Bitcoin may fit in other categories. ". Generic coin discussion threads or discussion about altcoin prices do not belong here.

Announcements (Altcoins) - Altcoin announcements, generic (usually announcement like) coin discussion threads.

Tokens (Altcoins) (child board of Announcements (Altcoins)) - Altcoin token (an altcoin entity / thing that relies on another altcoin's infrastructure to function) announcements, generic (usually announcement like) token discussion threads.

Mining (Altcoins) - Altcoin mining discussion. This includes discussion of PoW mining, PoS staking as well as other mining-like activity (e.g. dedicated devices, software, troubleshooting etc.).

Pools (Altcoins) (child board of Mining (Altcoins)) - Discussion and announcements of altcoin mining pools.

Marketplace (Altcoins) -  On-forum sale of goods and services either altcoin related or sold for altcoins.

Bounties (Altcoins) (child board of Marketplace (Altcoins)) -  "Altcoin bounties and ad campaigns". Bounties, advertisement campaigns, announcement of external giveaways (that do NOT require posting on Bitcointalk) and other similar threads belong here. Discussions about such campaigns / services do not belong here.

Service Announcements (Altcoins) (child board of Marketplace (Altcoins)) - Announcement of external services that are directly related to or accept altcoins.

Service Discussion (Altcoins) (child board of Marketplace (Altcoins)) - Discussion of altcoin services (both external and on-forum). This includes discussions about bounties.

Speculation (Altcoins) - Discussion about altcoin prices. This includes discussion about portfolios ("what altcoins are you holding?"), price predictions ("is coin X going to reach 10$ next week?" or "why is this coin's price so low?") and general speculation ("are the altcoin markets crashing?").

Thanks for the answers guys!

Yes the project have an announcement thread in altcoin section. Is an altcoin project, didn't wanted to share the name because I didn't wanted to sound like covered advertising or something like this.

Here is the project: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/annbisbismuth-20-beyond-defi-1896497 and unfortunately we don't have reserved the 2nd, 3rd post for later updates.

@CryptopreneurBrainboss there will be more than one tutorial and how-tos like (how to install the wallet, how to send coins, how to run a node, etc..)

What project is this you're talking about? If it's related to any altcoins , ICO, etc. then yes, you can post it on Announcements (Altcoins).

If it's related on services such as exchange, mixers, online shop/marketplace, etc. then Service Announcements might be a good place.

You didn't clarify what the project is all about. We need clarity so we can direct you accurately. Is the suppose project you want to start a thread on a Service, Altcoin or what? also what's the tutorial about?  Make this clear so our suggestions will be  easier & accurate.

You can post it to ANN thread section if your project had already an announcement on the forum. Basically Altcoin related topics should be placed on the exact area which is altcoin discussion.

I think if your project haven't got any announcement here yet than you can move on to off topic section.

If that project has ANN here than I guess you can post in that ANN thread too. I do not think posting in Altcoins section should be a problem.

Hello everyone!

I am trying to make a thread with tutorials for a certain project, in which section of the forum should I post it so I won't break the forum rules?

Is OK to start the thread in > Alternate cryptocurrencies > Announcements (Altcoins) or should I post it in > Other > Off-topic?

Thanks!
