If you want to buy Bitcoin with cash (AUD) through an Australian exchange, you will need to provide ID in accordance with Anti-Laundering Laws. Although, if you want to completely go off the radar there are other (less popular) options. If you visit hedgewithcrypto they provide a guide on other methods available in Oz, but if you're talking about larger amounts in cash to buy BTC, then it would be difficult to find a willing seller. Good luck.

Hi all, just wondering if there's anywhere to buy a decent amount of BTC in Aus anonymously?

What sort of premium are you willing to pay?  Get Paid In Bitcoin and CoinJar trade in Australia, once you've got the coins you can use a mixing service such as Two Step BitCoin Mixer (URL Link) (oNioN Link) to freshen up your coins.

they have kyc, I cashed out quite a lot of btc @ 22K looking at putting a lot back in, I just hate how everythings regulated nowadays, that's what I (LOVED) about btc back in the day

Another option is to do OTC here[1]. Don't forget to use escrow. You might need to do several trades as 50 BTC is not a small amount.

You should read the pinned threads too for further guidance.

Thanks, ive tried that all have low limits / most want selfies with id ect

Can we clarify do you want to buy 50 BTC completely anonymously or you do not reject the option of KYC (verification with ID/selfie)?  If you want to make the purchase completely anonymous, then the only option is to do it on the black market, face to face with someone at the risk of being robbed.

In my opinion, the best option is to try OTC (Over-The-Counter), and this option exists in Australia: https://bitcoin.com.au/otc-trading/

Certainly, I advise you to check every option well, including the above - which just seems like something that would be ideal for you.

In australia its really hard to buy bitcoin being anonymous and with recent rule you can get caught if you are dealing more than $10,000 in cash within one year. Therefore you cant buy more than $10000 worth of bitcoin in ayear with cash. Also finding sellers who are willing to deal in cash or bank deposit is very rare in p2p platforms without identity verification.

From what i have learnt its impossible to buy bitcoin anonymously in australia but there is small loop hole which allow you to cash out bitcoin anonymously.

I have downloaded and looked at bisq i have a 0.005btc buy limit lol goes off account age

My bad. For more info: https://docs.bisq.network/payment-methods.html

Anyway, to compensate, another suggestion would be to check out Mycelium Local Trader: https://mycelium.com/lt/help.html

You sort of select your location, and sellers from your location would then be displayed. I'm not sure if this feature of Mycelium is still widely being used, but you just might want to test it out. Hopefully your city has some active traders.

user8008, my first option would be to check local crypto-exchanges, and the article on the link posted above says that there are 246 cryptocurrency exchanges registered in Australia. If the money you want to invest in is legal, then you will have no problem with banks or crypto exchanges.

Whatever you do don't forget about security - I suggest investing in a hardware wallet and keeping anonymity about not bragging about how you bought 50 BTC.

Thanks mate but atms and online services arnt a option there limits are to small, looking at quite abit not willing to disclose the full amount but it above 50btc cheers

Well, there are no limits on Bisq. Like I said, you can simply just put a buy offer and probably wait for sellers. or you can simply just buy out the sellers if you're fine with the prices. Bisq is not like your typical bitcoin exchange like Coinbase and Kraken. You can buy/sell as much as you want without even submitting any documents. You might want to take a look at it first.

I just want to remind you that even you are buying bitcoin anonymously it is till being a traceable transaction(through IP, address you use). That is a huge amount of bitcoin about 50 BTC and I think that is not good if you made the transaction at once. Just split it into 5 times maybe it can help not just in a single transaction. Here I found useful links just read it carefully ( How To Buy Bitcoins Anonymously ) but this is not financial advice, of course, do your own research.

. Apparently Bisq has account age restrictions(link). Hi all, just wondering if theres anywhere to buy a decent amount of btc in Aus anonymously?

One option is to look for bitcoin ATMs that doesn't have cameras and doesn't require the submission of personal identification.

Second option, is to buy bitcoin through decentralized or non-custodial exchanges like Bisq[1]. Seriously, try it out. The spreads might be bad, but if you're not in a hurry, you can set your own buy offers for you to be able to buy at a price that you're comfortable with.
